Expect for the location of this hotel everything else was a nightmare for my family and I. Breakfast is boring. Firstly, I make a mistake by not double checking on my booking, as I accidentally booked a smoking room. However due to respiratory issue, we needed to change a room and I do see available room on other platform app so I ask if we are able to switch a room or do an top up, but they say they are unable to do so and wasn’t able to provide any productive help. I was utterly disappointed and I ask if I could get a refund to book myself another room but they insist they are not able to do anything! It was such a horrible experience and I would let the picture do the talking, the hotel ventilation is in extreme poor condition and I would not recommend people with respiratory issue to stay here. Overall it was such bad experience through out, and I highly recommend the hotel to take action in their upgrading.

Karasuma Kyoto Hotel is a decent choice with some great features. The location is unbeatable, and the staff were very accommodating, especially with holding our luggage after checkout. The rooms were clean and I got a nice view, and the breakfast was enjoyable. However, there were a couple of downsides: the bathroom had an unexplained smell despite looking spotless, and the indoor temperature was sometimes too warm with no way to adjust it. Overall, a convenient and pleasant stay with room for minor improvements.

Spent three nights at this hotel for its superb location. It is close with Shijo Subway Station and Karasuma Station on the Hankyu Railway .
The room and overall facilities are a little bit outdated but it is very clean. Tiny bathroom like cruise bathroom. Fortunately, no smoking smell for our rooms as highlighted in the review during our stay.
You can walk to Nishiki market, Daimaru store, ichiran ramen. Nearby Tsukemen also delicious. There are many cafe nearby you can have your breakfast.
Lady staff are very friendly.
I will recommend to stay this hotel for first time travellers visiting Kyoto for convenient purposes. However, for the price I paid during autumn period, I will choose other hotel for better price and facilities.

A wonderful hotel! Good location - near the metro station. It is an easy walk to Gion. Very friendly staff. The room is clean and warm. There is everything you need to relax. Excellent, varied breakfast.

The location is excellent. However parking service was unacceptable. When the day i checked in, i asked in advance before i rented a car for the reservation of a car space, the staff told me no reservation was required, just told me to enter the car park when you needed. I thought there were plenty of parking spaces.
However, when i drove in, the staff told me all spaces were reserved, and told me to drive to another car park nearby.
Not recommended for someone who is planning for a car space.
