My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in April for our one year anniversary. The hotel is set in a quiet location which is exactly what we wanted, all you can hear is the crashing of the waves below. We had a garden view room (number 10) which had a terrace to the side of the pool and was a lovely sun trap in the afternoon. The room was clean and felt good quality, the bed was comfy and we slept really well. You can join a wonderful wooden walkway from the hotel which walks you all above the ponte de piedade cliffs with many viewpoints and beaches along the way. This eventually leads you to Lagos old town, we would usually take a leisurely stroll there and get a taxi back as it is a good 40/50 minute walk. In the other direction you can visit a sandy beach within 5 minutes, or continue up the cliffs for about 3km until you reach Praia Da Luz. The hotel food was good, breakfast was a buffet with breads, cheeses, smoked salmon and pastries and you could order eggs/ sausage/ bacon from the menu which is also included. We ate here twice for dinner, whilst quite expensive it was good quality, particularly the fresh fish offerings. Whilst there were a few interesting experiences with some staff (they seemed to argue with eachother in another language in front of guests) they were overall welcoming and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting peace and quiet in the algarve.

We stayed here over Christmas and enjoyed our welcome drink while watching the sunset overlooking the Atlantic ocean. The friendly staff welcomed us and answered all our questions, even suggested a local place to eat on Christmas Eve. The room looked out onto lovely landscaped gardens. The room was spacious and clean and provided everything we needed, including a lovely Christmas gift. We ate at the restaurant for both breakfast and also Christmas dinner. It seemed to be a popular place for Christmas dinner, our meal was delicious! I highly recommend staying at Boutique Hotel Vivenda Miranda if you want to have a nice quiet stay just out of town.

This is a small, exclusive hotel, and all the rooms are very, very nice. We were in room 12 and we didn't have an excellent view (others we traveled with did), but it didn't matter; the pool and veranda did, and we couldn't have been more comfortable here. Even though we didn't have a view, we had a private patio that was equally nice. The food in the restaurant is excellent, as is the staff, including the front desk. The attention to detail here is special.

The hotel enjoys a truly stunning location, perched cliffside with breathtaking views from most rooms. It’s within walking distance of a beautiful nearby beach and just a short drive from several other equally picturesque beaches — a fantastic base for exploring the coastline. However, there are several areas where the hotel experience could be significantly improved. The front desk service was particularly disappointing. While one gentleman at reception was courteous and helpful, the rest of the staff—primarily the women (blonde hair and brunette young women)—came across as unwelcoming, condescending, and at times openly rude. The lack of genuine hospitality made for a frustrating and disheartening start to the stay. Additionally, there was little to no information provided at check-in regarding hotel amenities. Basic details like spa and gym hours, breakfast and dinner times, and other guest services were not communicated, leaving us to figure things out on our own. A welcome packet or simple orientation would have gone a long way in improving the experience. Another issue was the lack of assistance with luggage. We had to carry our bags ourselves from the room to the car, and at no point did any staff member offer help — something you’d expect from a hotel at this price point. The property also appears to be understaffed, which may explain the slow service throughout, particularly at the pool. Drink orders regularly took 20–30 minutes to arrive, which detracted from the relaxing atmosphere one hopes to enjoy. This hotel has incredible potential thanks to its location, but a stronger emphasis on genuine hospitality and service would make a world of difference

We just booked here for our honeymoon and I wish I picked anywhere else. When we arrived after traveling all day the lady at the desk was rude and said she wasn’t expecting us until the following day.. then she realized actually her system dropped our first night. She said she would upgrade us to a suite just for the night but the following day we would need to move all our stuff to our real room. We were left with no bath towels, when we got back from dinner there was a cockroach in the room and a spider and one door did not lock. We were on the ground floor and did not sleep well with fear of more bugs and someone breaking in. I cried a lot the following day after being really upset for already a terrible stay. The manager spoke to us and got us a room since our room would not be ready until sometime after 12. One night we went to the bar for a drink and were told to hangout by the lounge area with the live music and they would take our order then no one came for 30 minutes. We barely spent time at the hotel because we really felt like the service was better at every other restaurant and place downtown.

The views from this hotel can’t be beat. It’s so nice to sit outside for a meal, drinks or by the pool enjoying the amazing ocean view. Everything about it makes you feel like you’re on vacation. The staff goes out if they’re way to make you feel welcome and to help with any requests that you have. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating at the front desk or in the restaurant. We didn’t dine here and that might have been a mistake on our part.

Having visited this hotel previously we booked lunch for our party to celebrate a special birthday. Confirmation was provided by the hotel of the birthday request. The booking was difficult with the request having to be left to see if the manager would accept the booking, albeit 5 of the party were kids. We arrived for lunch the starters tasted great, all kids meals came out early way before the starters. One of the starters was incorrect and we waited for the correct dish to be provided. All the kids had eaten their food and we had no sight of the mains 2 hours in to our booking. We were served the incorrect food from another table which we rejected. the correct mains finally arrived with one meal not cooked correctly, the dish was taken away and returned 25 minutes later. Based on timing anticipated that a correct meal would be made …. However it was just recooled and served cut as per how it was sent back. Reception staff were rude, service very slow. Restaurant manager thanked for feedback, no apology, no cake for the birthday guest and €324 euros later. They advised they would try better next time, not good enough. We won’t be coming back, save your money the views aren’t worth the price, slow service and not what you would expect from a high rated hotel and restaurant.

Very rude security..I was dropping off one of my clients from the Uber and had to use bathroom really quick but the security stopped me saying you cannot use the bathroom because you do not work here! This is the most utterly ridiculous thing I have ever heard.. I have dropped clients in one of the best hotels in portugal and no one ever stopped me when I had to use bathroom instead every person RESPECTFULLY showed me where the bathroom was! I just wanted to say that if your hotel has a rule that other person who don't work in the hotel cannot use the bathroom (more specifically Uber drivers) I would humbly request to include a sign saying No Uber Drivers Are Allowed To Use The Bathroom! infront of the gate. Thanks!
