St. Regis Hotels & Resorts properties in Lhasa

This was my first time visiting a high-altitude area, and after much deliberation, I chose the trusted St. Regis hotel. They upgraded me to a suite in the main building, which was excellent. The room was well-equipped, clean, and tidy. It even had an oxygen concentrator, though the oxygen concentration felt a bit low. For someone experiencing severe altitude sickness, this can be quite unsettling. It would be better if the oxygen facilities were improved, as many hotels now offer diffused oxygen systems. I felt much more at ease knowing there's a medical room on the third floor of the hotel. (It would be even better if the hotel waived the small fees (10-20 CNY) for basic checks like blood oxygen, blood pressure, and heart rate. Oxygen therapy and medication were charged normally.) After all, the medical room is a selling point for the hotel. My butler for this stay was Luodan from concierge. His service was exceptional. He'd provide daily weather updates, temperature forecasts, and remind me to bring an umbrella. He even brought my takeout directly to my room, making me feel truly at home. He helped me arrange a private car and driver, recommending the most cost-effective options. When I checked out, he carefully loaded my luggage into the car and knew exactly which car was picking me up. He was incredibly thoughtful, treating me like a friend. Overall, my stay was very pleasant.
