Hotels in The Old Town of Lijiang, Lijiang

Having Afei's help was the highlight of our stay at Songzhuju. We don't speak Chinese, but Afei was happy to communicate with us through WeChat and Translation apps to check in on us, coordinate the booking of activities and recommend shows, restaurants, souvenir options, etc. Afei was quick to assist us when we were a little confused about locations, when we were feeling unwell from altitude of our mountain day trip; and when we needed to reschedule timing of activities. The location is excellent; approximately 100m walk to the North Gate which is the meeting point for all our Didi pickups and dropoffs. It is right in the hub of Old Town so it's so easy to explore on foot and very safe. There were a mix of travellers staying at this accommodation; including people who could communicate in Chinese and also people who couldn't. We were in the Luxury Queen room. Our room was exactly what we needed for our stay in Lijiang. It was on the upper level which is just one flight of stairs up; with large windows looking down to the lovely courtyard. Tea on arrival, Complimentary Breakfast (traditional food: rice noodle soup, cracker, fruit, sweet potato) and complimentary pick up from airport (included with our room type) was so appreciated and made our Lijiang trip nice and smooth. There is a washing machine and dryer which we made use of during our stay; and there is a coffee shop attached to the accommodation as well. Thank you so much Afei for all your help in making our experience and this accommodation so memorable for us.

The room is excellent and is at end of a valley, which make it very peaceful and quiet to rest. Also around 5-10mins from northeast entrance. The mattress got heater and the room and environment was very classic making them so photogenic. The host is responsive and nice to help us carry our heavy bags to the room. Definitely recommended

I absolutely loved the guesthouse's overall decor and ambiance, especially their charming little garden. It was incredibly relaxing to just sit there and sip tea. As for cleanliness, the 'Ayi' (cleaning lady) tidied up every day. The rooms even came with a humidifier and an air purifier – such thoughtful touches! Big thumbs up 👍🏻. Xiao Lu and Long Ge were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They not only assisted us in planning our itinerary but also recommended amazing local eateries. They even enthusiastically invited us to a bar to hang out – so much fun! 😂 And last but certainly not least, out of all my past accommodation experiences, their breakfast was hands down the best I've ever had! Seriously, my main motivation to wake up early every morning was to enjoy the delicious rice noodles prepared by the 'Ayi'! I stayed for several days and happily ate it every single morning, haha. Oh, and their pickled radishes are also incredibly tasty! The breakfast is clearly made with so much care and offers a great variety. If you're visiting, you absolutely *must* try their breakfast.

Great stay. Had a tea appreciation that came with the stay. Kids loved to play with the dogs and a pig. Owner just bought two Giant Alaskan Malamute puppies and they are supper cute! Entrance to bathroom has no door. Wish we had a cloth-curtain and some suction hooks. Family room is big. Has humidifier, fridge and bathtub. Hotel is conveniently near Zhong Yi market and Mu Fu. Also near two Lijiang wash pools outside for washing vegetables bought from the market. Do try the Dali yogurt from a nearby convenience store.

This homestay really didn't disappoint me. The decoration style is the type I like. The flowers and plants in the yard and the decoration of the room are very distinctive. Traveling around is also very convenient, the boss is also very good, and any needs will be met as much as possible. Brothers and sisters come to Lijiang to choose his home.

This B&B is truly amazing! The environment is incredibly beautiful, and it's conveniently located. The hostess is incredibly welcoming, and we enjoyed a relaxing time drinking tea and chatting in the courtyard. The staff were even more amazing. Not only did they pick me and my friend up and drop us off, they also helped with our luggage and ran around like crazy, more attentive than any other B&B I've stayed in before. The entire B&B has a wonderful atmosphere, and I highly recommend it. My friend and I have already made plans to return and stay a few days to fully experience it!

At this moment! We have already taken the high-speed train to Dali! Rest is important when traveling! The owner of the B&B is very nice and a nice person! Nice inn! Let us have a concrete experience of ”Colorful Yunnan” and have a wonderful and enjoyable trip to Lijiang! There is something very good about Lijiang! Everything is unforgettable! Senge is a ”must-have item for eating, drinking, playing, and traveling”! Hahaha Thank you for telling us everything. We also probably know the business secrets of the ancient city [laughter] Lijiang’s delicacies also gave us a feast for our mouths! It has to be ”Brother Sen's strict selection”! The B&B environment is very good, very distinctive, clean and sanitary. It is located in the ancient city, but it is quiet in the midst of the hustle and bustle and your sleep will not be affected. The boss was very friendly and personally came to the door to help us with our luggage. We stayed for three nights and when we left at around 5 in the morning, the boss sent us to the door. What a very good boss! The room is very unique, with Naxi style, and the children like it very much. The boss also helped us upgrade the room, which was great and the experience was particularly good. You can book with confidence and choose here next time.

The boss is kind and cordial! It feels like home! When we travel with our children, we choose accommodation because we like clean and comfortable accommodation! Joy fits perfectly and is really clean! Take the stairs to the observation deck! Coming down is a bar street! You can take a taxi not far away! Great location! Will stay again next time I come! Very comfortable!

Pros: the garden and grounds were photogenic. The area was located near the top of the hilly ancient city. The hotel had amazing service, helping us book an affordable shared bus ride to Dali. Clean bedsheets. Cons: although the hotel looks good in photos, it is old and shabby and not taken care of. Lots of peeling paint and mold growing in the bathroom. There was a small desk, but in the corner and on the floor. Everything is trying to be Japanese style, but it’s not comfortable for someone like me who is tall and used to western and Chinese style. Also, I don’t need a sink in the entry way. A table or chair would make a lot more sense. I stayed in July and it really does need air conditioning because the morning sun and thin walls make the room incredibly hot in the morning and daytime. There were fans but I only used one because the other was covered in dust. It’s a shame I have to write a bad review because the place is cute on the outside and has potential to be much better.
