Situated on one acre of mature and secondary forest with two perennial streams and views of the 12,000ft mountains and verdant Rio Chirripo valley, the tranquil Casa Mariposa has been a beloved retreat destination for hikers, birders and naturalists for over 25 years. The Casa has been designed to incorporate and celebrate the magnificent granite boulders of the Talamanca Range found throughout the lush 1 acre property. The original mountain-house charm has been lovingly preserved using locally-sourced wood, stonework, hand-crafted doors and windows, bespoken details and artistic touches by both local and internationally known artists.
