A safe haven in the middle of the metropolis: We took a traditional brick building with roots dating back to the 1800s and set a new standard for hostel life in the UK. What was once sailors' accommodation is now a hostel that caters for all the needs of the modern traveller. With great attention to detail, we have created a hostel in London that celebrates the heritage of our historic building. The old oak that once formed part of sturdy ships and churches is now immortalised in our furnishings throughout the house. The beers you drink here will be served on a bar made from 500 year old wood! Our Wombat's City Hostel is located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, right next to the famous Tower Bridge and Tower of London, charming markets, authentic pubs and many other places of historical interest. A short walk will take you to trendy Shoreditch with its vibrant street art, the lively nightlife of Hoxton Square and Old Street and finally Brick Lane, which has become one of the most popular spots. All other London attractions are easily accessible by public transport: Aldgate East and Tower Bridge underground and DLR stations are just a stone's throw away. Hostel is good for tourists touring tower hamlet to Tate modern etc young occupants but best kitchen if you like cooking. Bar nearby to kitchen which makes localisation perfect with courtyard space

Compared to other hostel i have stayed , this is really bad, location is far away from station. Staffs are not helpful and friendly at all, most of them dont smile and put on a cold face. i come earlier to store luggage they ask me to go luggage room myself, never even try to guide me which way, and i have a heavy luggage, they expect me to carry it and walk down by stair with that luggage, until i ask for help, they finally borrow me a card to use lift. have to put on bed cover and duvet cover myself which is quite heavy to do, so tired already i just want to rest and i still have to do the hard work, dont know why i pay to service myself. The trash bin in the room is full and they dont clear it for a day. Very bad experience especially after i have just enjoyed other hostel with friendlier staff and attitude. Not recommended and i wont book here again.

The room was better than I expected. Each person had their own locker, and the bathroom was very clean. The only downside was that my roommate didn't take a shower, and the smell of feet was quite unpleasant...... Also, someone was smoking ********* outside the window during midnight.

Good place to stay, within walking distance to Tower of London and Tower Bridge. It was quite hot in the summer because there was no air conditioner in the room.

Hygienic and spacious, on the more expensive end but it is worth it. 24 hour concierge, female and male rooms are separated by gates that can only be opened by the respective room cards, very assuring for female solo travelers.

The shared accommodation is well priced when you consider the bar downstairs in the vaults is absolutely banging. I had a socket to charge my phone. Only downside was top bunk so ladder was extremely difficult to use safely. The ladder was bare metal and right in the far corner of the the bunk structure. Be careful if you aren’t that dexterous.
