St Vincent Guest House

Finished late so wanted somewhere to get a meal quick but not in town. The first pub we were advised, looked on the website and it said no serving after 8pm!! This was the second one listed by our landlady and it had fish and chips on the menu and it was really what we were looking for. great portions, very hot. They were able to accomodate us and th efood was served very quickly and the staff were very helpful. Could not recommend any higher. Good size car park, comfortable and effecient. Great value, wish it was not so late as we would have had desserts as well. Excellent

Wow what a little gem we found on walk around town, as had booked elsewhere, but cancelled and stayed here instead. From the moment we walked through the door, we received a lovely warm welcome by Maria. We were shown to our room and wow was lovely and warm, beautifully decorated and all the teas/coffee's etc & biscuits you could want. The bed was super comfy and after a superb nights sleep, we went down for breakfast, which we had chosen the night before. Clive's poached eggs were perfect, as was the rest of the breakfast, which most was locally sourced/purchased/grown/reared - like the fruit in the compote, the sausages and the bread, so as really full didn't need food until the evening. Will definitely be back.

I don’t stay in a lot of hotels and B&B’s but my daughter and I just came back from a one night stay after passing though Lynton. We actually decided to move from a more expensive hotel in Lynmouth and we are so glad we did! This lovely old, quirky guest house is full of charm and has a wonderful history, apparently the only detached Georgian property in Lynton and Lynmouth! Maria is lovely and made us feel so welcome, my daughter and I were back early from having fish and chips and we had a lovely early night in bed watching the tv. The bed was extremely comfy and we slept like logs, very quiet. The cleanliness is incredible our room was spotless and the entrance and staircase has a wonderful smell. The highlight for us were Maria and Clive’s wonderful cats, we saw quite a bit of Princess Hazel! Breakfast was delicious, I had compote with berries that Maria had grown, Clive makes a delicious full English, the dining room was beautiful and homely. Clive was allowed out of the kitchen for a few minutes ;) to say hello! We will be staying in Lynton again and would not hesitate to stay here.

Excellent location, Easy parking,lovely room, clean , tidy, quiet,great English breakfast,lovely owners very helpful and friendly, Lynton itself didn’t have much going for it , but staying in this little gem made our weekend all the much better, hopefully will return one day

Me, my Husband, Daughter and her Boyfriend stayed at St Vincent for two days. The elegantly decorated rooms together with the fabulous breakfast made by the perfects hosts Maria & Clive made our stay very pleasurable. They made us feel very much at home in their home. We stayed here about 7 years ago and had no hesitation in staying again not knowing it had new owners . But the changes made and the hospitality we received was second to none. We highly recommend a stay at St Vincent, we will definitely be returning. Thank you Sue, Nigel, Rosie & Jack xx

From arrival to departure, both Maria and Clive were the most welcoming hosts and loveliest of people. Nothing was too much trouble for myself, my husband, and our Westie who also had a cooked sausage every morning with us at breakfast. St Vincent House was full of character and history with many original features. We were blessed with sunshine and soooo enjoyed experiencing the beauty of this part of Devon. Thank you again Maria and Clive for your part in a wonderful trip.
