Hotel Central, nestled in the vibrant heart of Macau's historic city along Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, is ideally situated near iconic landmarks such as St. Paul's Ruins and the Senado Square. Following a meticulous HK$2 billion acquisition and revitalization project, this century-old treasure was gloriously reborn in 2024. This singular century-old boutique hotel ingeniously merges a nostalgic retro aesthetic with advanced technology and eco-friendly principles, resulting in an ambiance that is both evocative of the past and refreshingly contemporary.

I wish I could've stayed here my entire time in Macau. The rooms are not the biggest but the new design (finished in 2024) is brilliant and makes you feel connected to what came before. The hotel dates back to 1928 and was the original ”President” and was central to the rise of Macau ****** culture, being a focal point of the fantan monopoly. There's an extraordinary neighborhood around it, which reminded my partner of Southern China and Hong Kong of the past. You can eat and drink in street food stalls, restaurants, and coffee shops that are much more than a hundred years old and original. I was inspired by the story of the man who renovated the place and the area, how he grew up here, led the investors, designers, and restoration team throughout COVID and finally they all completed the place. Well worth the trip and I would go again.

This was a very nice stay away from main Casino district (Taipa) in Macau, and we (as a family) loved it. Let me give you few bullets
1. After booking, I send email to hotel, but there was no reply for 48 hours.
2. when enquired through Trip.com, though the booking was with Club Millesime, the first answer was no access to Longue. When enquired again, Longue access was confirmed (sound like they obliged).
3. Reaching Hotel by taxi (from HZMB port) is appx 30 minutes taxi ride (120 HKD) - on reaching hotel, we found they have bus from the port every 30 minuets - details missing on their website.
4. Check-in experience was good, no delay, no unnecessary question.
5. Pleasent surprise was level of English-speaking staff at hotel. we always found someone to talk to and find required information.
6. Club Millesime (Longue - L17) available for food three times a day - Afternoon High tea, Late evening Happy Hours and morning Breakfast. Though the food options are limited (specially for Vegetarian people), we found the place enjoyable.
7. We explored the old city (opposite to hotel) in afternoon, and it was wonderful experience. we went to Fort and Wall and possibly best narrow streets in the world.
8. Rooms were good, comfortable sleep, nice TV options (TV speakers were bad while watching movie).
9. Sofitel is working hard on Environmental stuff, you can see it everywhere in room. No water bottle, no plastic, no loose item for tooth paste, lotion, shampoo, comb etc.
10. Morning breakfast (at L6) was good, good spread and many items were fresh. During holiday period, you may need to way for some time. There were a few vegetarian options for breakfast.
11. Checkout process was very easy.
12. I couldn't experience fitness center, swimming pool and restaurant due to other priorities.
check few photos (room details for more information.

The location was great for the famous place and eating house. Walking distance.
”John ” was great enough to provide us the double bed although my order via the website was a single bed.
The king bed was completely comfortable and I had a good sleep.
The room was clean and spacious.
Public transportation or private hire was easy accessable.

Good location near the historical centre to walk. Big nice room for affordable money. Nice pool on the 23 floor, but we had no time to try it. The breakfast is very poor, no vegatebles such as tomato and cucumber at breakfast. Absolutely same food for 2 days. No options for vegan.

We love this hotel because of its location, it’s an approx. 5 to10 mins walkable distance to Lisboa Hotel and Senado Square. And we have a surprise upgraded to a room that overlooks the Macao Tower. Hotel is new, the room itself is spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff are good, especially Miguel at the front desk was very helpful, his warm welcome and sincere friendliness set the tone for our stay, resolves questions regarding transportation to HZMB and other parts of Macau, which is truly commendable. There are a few restaurants, department store and a cinema, inside the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely go back when we return to Macau.

GGuest User2024.12.23
I recently stayed at City Viva Hotel in Macau and had a mixed experience. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, which I appreciated. However, there were a few issues that affected my comfort during my stay.
The main issue I encountered was with the room temperature—it was impossible to adjust it to a warmer setting, which made the room feel quite cold. As a result, I had to wear a jacket inside the room to stay comfortable. Additionally, the air quality was a concern; despite the hotel being clean, the environment felt smoky throughout my stay. There was a constant smoky odor in the air, which was unpleasant and detracted from the overall comfort of the room.
I was also required to pay a deposit of HK$500 at check-in, which is something to be aware of when booking your stay.
Overall, while the hotel is clean and offers decent amenities, the temperature control and smoky environment were drawbacks that impacted my experience.

The Harbour View Hotel may not be one of Macao’s finest names but it is nevertheless an excellent establishment if you can’t afford a stay at the Wynn or the MGM.
Its location is pretty decent, close to the Fisherman’s Wharf complex, right by the sea, and about 5-10 minutes walk from shops and restaurants (pro-tip: cut through the large square opposite the hotel). You can also walk quite easily to the MGM, Wynn, Grand Lisboa and Senado square.
The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the swimming pool is quite the eye-candy too, with a good length, and jacuzzis!

Very nice everything. Staff and everything very good but one security from supplier company working there know me and he said he have all access of my personal information that I provide to hotel staff for registration. It broke my privacy.
Location: Very convenient, the door is the bus stop, from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge take 102x directly to the door.
check in: Staff doesn't understand Cantonese, no deposit required, room card is designated (only one)
Lifts: bright enough, big enough, there are 2, to take cards to the room
Corridor: Light, no odor (however someone opened the door to the rooftop in the morning, which was a bit weird
Door: Normal, thick, good soundproofing
Bathroom: Light, two towels each, good hygiene, no smell, clean towels with bathtub, however a bit high, be careful when entering and exiting.
Minibar: Has normal stuff, no snacks, fridge is not cold (out of water), has two bottles of water.
Bed: The pillows are one hard and one soft, the sheets are a little stained (acceptable), the duvet is warm enough with a USB plug at the headboard, but the light switch is a bit too bright
Air conditioning: Relatively slow, you can adjust the temperature yourself
Window: Curtains for blackout, but the light will burst between the curtains, the view is average (nor book this hotel for the view)
Hair dryer: normal wind, normal temperature
Wifi: Relatively weak, interrupts itself from time to time.
TV: To turn on yourself (remote control can not be turned on), not HD
Check out: Because there is no deposit, so put down the room card and leave

4.7/5
Outstanding
BBaba láWe expected a true five-star experience, but this hotel barely reaches a 3.5 or 4-star level in terms of service and facilities.
We requested a high-floor, non-smoking room and were even upgraded to a suite. However, the hallways and air conditioning carried a strong cigarette smell. Unfortunately, this seems to be a recurring issue in hotels with frequent Chinese guests.
Breakfast was another major letdown. If you book a room with breakfast included through Trip, you’ll be dining at The Market Bistro, but don’t expect a buffet. Instead, you get a limited choice between a Western or Chinese set menu. For a supposed five-star hotel, the quality is extremely poor—terrible coffee, packaged toast, greasy and fried food, and no fresh fruit or natural juice. The “pastry selection” consists of one processed croissant, two slices of toast, and a Danish.
The hotel is also overcrowded, with the reception and rooms located far apart, requiring long walks each time you go back and forth.
For just 300 - 400 Mops more, you could stay at The St. Regis or another luxury hotel (low season) that offers far better value for money. Don’t be misled by Trip reviews—this hotel does not live up to the five-star rating it claims.
MMandyThe hotel is family friendly. I was with my 6-month-old baby and the hotel offered baby crib and stroller for us. We also got some baby bath items.
We booed the Celebrity Tower but then the indoor swimming pool is for guests who stay in Star Tower only. We did not know about that. I did not know we can choose to stay in which tower, I only chose the room.
We got to try the indoor pool at the end because the outdoor pool was closed due to maintenance. We visited in February, it’s still not very warm so we were happy we got to use the indoor pool.
GGuest UserYou can forget about early checkin. Could only preregister strictly after 1230pm and had to come back for room key collection from 3pm onwards. The hotel requires 1000HKD for room deposit. We requested for twin beds but was informed there would be additional charges unlike other establishments who not only accommodated to our requests but they also did their best to make our stay memorable. Honestly we expected better service for the price paid. Wouldn’t consider staying here again when we could get better service elsewhere.
BBertonCheungThe spacious room and the spectacular view is the only highlight in my opinion. Maybe my expectation is a bit high after staying with Andaz, which provided an excellent and all-rounded experience. For example, we have made an earlier request for late check out when doing the check in, but get rejected by the check-in staff. They didn't consider your membership status nor the birthday. Please don't expect any perks or rewards. The room was not ready when we were there. So we stored our luggage at the front desk. When we came back, the stored luggage was not directly sent to your room. You needed to reclaim your stuff at the concierge. I was a bit disappointed. The location is not prime and at the far corner of the whole district. Staying here with the gold elite status and on your birthday will not bring you anything extra, even though you have made remarks earlier. Definitely, not the first pick in Macau.
AAnonymous UserVisited the venetian and stayed for 3 nights. Hotel was beautiful and room was big. Downside was I was given a room on a floor that was going through upgrading works and the smell of fresh paint was overbearing and lingered in the air throughout my stay giving me a bad headache. Thankfully I was not staying for long.
Other than that, room was clean and housekeeping made up room ans replenished amenities daily.
Casino is just downstairs and there are many eateries and in room dining available. Unfortunately, food is very expensive and wasn't really tasty.
There is shuttle service from the airport to the hotel for free.
SSara ArdeliaWe loved our extraordinarily large room with separate living and bedroom and the lovely scent. Despite its quite minimum lighting, overall we enjoyed our experiences along with its l’occitane amenities. Some people complain about its location being too far from most other sites with limited shuttle options, but we found it quite convenient after knowing that we managed to use Grand Lisboa Palace shuttle services. The shopping mall connected to the hotel was also a reliable option. Our room came with an afternoon tea set which was great though the service could have been better about the tea and drink included.
JJosephineExcellent service, clean and comfortable room, quiet and easy-to-reach location, cute Line cartoon characters at hotel lobby and shopping mall, bus stop just outside the hotel and only 5-mins walk to light rail station, I think it’s the best for a relaxing holiday trip.
GGuest UserOur check-in with the help of staff 趙嘉敏, just 5mins to get our room and I need to thanks so much for Joel who very care of us.
When we check-in he noticed that we had a lugguage with us and told us that just leave it at a distance that can be looked after
While check-out he is very patient to listen my comment that the chair in our room one of the leg is not fixed well and he will reflect to the management.
Last but not the least that thanks for Ms. Jessy who toke my IDD call for my special request as we are coming from Hong Kong as because we just made booking less than 12hrs before check-in.
She really made remarks to my needs and why I know it's her who pick up my call and well prepared a room before our arrival as when we check-out, by a few chit chat and knows that it's her who received my calls and pay attention to our needs.
WWongAshleyMy family and I had a wonderful stay! When we first arrived at the entrance of the hotel, we were assisted by the bellhop, Mark Spencer, who was very nice and helpful during our arrival and leaving the hotel. And everything else that came after did not disappoint, the room was beautiful, the breakfast was nice. Would definitely come back again! 👍🏽
GGuest UserI arrived at 1300 hours, but the room was only available at 1500 hours. We requested a late check-out but were only allowed to stay until 1200 hours the next day. I even received a reminder phone call at 1155 hours, which seemed like they were urgently pushing me to leave
