Ocean Beach Resort & Spa

It feels like a blend of the beach and the desert, with stunning dunes creating a serene vibe. This was a family leisure trip, and I have to say, the rooms were impressive—spacious, spotless, and with bathrooms that passed my ever-picky standards. There was more than enough space to stash away suitcases, leaving the room comfortable to navigate. The gardens? Immaculate and beautifully maintained. Holiday organization was top-notch. They nailed it with themed dinners—absolutely loved that touch! Now, about the food: fresh, fresh, fresh! It’s as if it came straight from the kitchen to the table. A+ for that. Xmas breakfast was a little slow, probably because the staff was stretched thin, but they quickly redeemed themselves with a delicious brunch spread. The staff? Amazing. At first, I thought their warmth and professionalism might be scripted, like they’d just come from a training session. But no, this was genuine. Every staff member we encountered was courteous, attentive, and quick to respond. Whoever is behind their training deserves a medal. Special mention to Rosemary, the reservation manager—she was incredibly patient with my endless questions and made sure everything went smoothly. Oh, and you must visit their spa! It’s an experience on its own—relaxing, rejuvenating, and worth every minute. For golf lovers, don’t forget to pack your clubs! Malindi Golf Club is conveniently adjacent to the hotel. Even if you don’t have your own, they’ve got you covered with clubs available for hire. When we left, we didn’t leave empty-handed but with a bag full of thoughtful gifts—a perfect send-off! It’s been five years since our last family trip, and I’m so glad Ocean Beach did not let us down. What a memorable experience! ✨

Best place to be.. From food, to the pools and the serene environment, I couldn't get enough of it. Their staff are very polite and extremely professional. It was my first time and I can confidently say I will be visiting again. I would definitely recommend anyone to visit the place.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and kept very clean. I loved there being 2 pools, with one for serious swimming. The staff were friendly. However, service was quite slow, and at the family pool I felt that the bar staff could have been more proactive at coming round to see if guests wanted anything. I tried for several minutes to get their attention from across the pool and eventually gave up. The food was generally good, although a bit expensive, and more choice of lunchtime snacks would have been nice (such as pizza, samosas). The fries were terrible, soggy and limp, not crispy and triple cooked as promised. The bar also didn't have all the necessary ingredients to make the cocktails on the menu.

The place is fun to be, with very spacious rooms and excellent service. The swimming pools are well managed and the ocean view is spectacular. The staff are very courteous and professional. The food is somewhat average with limited variety. The management however portrayed poor communication, rigidity and poor customer relations.

The environment is clean and well kept with cool breeze from the ocean.The waiters have excellent customer service especially Festus who served us. The sea food was delicious and well presented. However, there were no varieties of wines.

We spent 5 nights at Ocean Beach Resort and didn't want to leave! We had the most fantastic weather, although there were times when it was alarmingly hot, which meant we spent most of our midday time at the swimming pool relaxing on the extra-large and comfortable sun loungers under large shade umbrellas. The pool area is designed in such a way that it is easy to connect with other guests and families, which was a highlight for us. The hotel team deserve a very special mention: whether it was a casual lunch at the pool or the special occasion buffet dinner on New Year's Eve, there was an enormous effort made to move tables and chairs around to create different and exciting settings, all beautifully decorated. Our children just loved the huge and crystal clear pool. The pool attendants were very friendly and helpful and interacted well with all the children, providing inflatable tubes for playing on. The food was also very nicely presented and tasty, especially the buffet dinners. Some amazing and unique decorations such as a vase of 'flowers' made out of intricately carved potatoes and food colouring caught our eye. My husband is in a wheelchair and our room was very conveniently located a short distance from the main hotel buildings. The paths around and about are all wheelchair suitable and in fact the grounds in their entirety are pretty flat. All the main areas are very accessible. There was a step into the shower (which had grab rails); however, the hotel did provide a movable wooden ramp, but it was difficult to use it without assistance. Thankfully air-con in the rooms provided a welcome respite from the early January heat. The beach is expansive and quite beautiful, however it is a walk away from the hotel grounds, and there are noticeable currents pulling this way and that. We ventured out to the beach most late afternoons, which is when most others did the same. Lovely to see families, locals and tourists alike, enjoying the outdoors. I had a massage treatment at the in-house spa which was excellent. The spa room itself felt like a sanctuary. Make time for a swim in the spa pool afterwards. We were made to feel very welcome and would definitely choose to stay here again. A lovely, casual and friendly atmosphere. Thanks to all for the great service and the memorable stay!
