Not so accommodating staffs. Been told that there are no free meals if the booking was made online but we have booked the with meal price. The area and the room is clean.
Dohera Hotel

Highly Recommended for middle-class: Just as good as our last stay in 2015. For less than 60 USD/night, it offers everything we needed and wanted. Based on its simplicity, this may only be a 2 or 3 star hotel, but the service and courtesy of the staff is 5-star. Peso for Peso (dollar for dollar), it's the best value of any hotel I've ever stayed in my life. Location: 5-7km from Mactan. At 7pm on a Thursday, it took me 15 minutes to drive to Dohera via the new bridge. The drive back to Mactan, on a weekday morning took 30mins via the ”old” bridge. Our Room: Two queen beds for three nights: P7500 ($150USD) total. We stayed on two separate occasions at the front and back end of our vacation to Cebu. Rooms were clean and modern (though the carpeted floors did not pass my ”white-sock” test). Beds are simple and comfortable. Ref, but no microwave. Bathroom is modern and extremely clean: Excellent hot/cold water pressure in a beautiful, glass-enclosed shower. Toiletries provided. Television is modern with many channels. Breakfast Included: 100% fantastic buffet style (self-serve). There were, usually, two protein dishes -- (tocino, longanisa, pork belly, chicken, fried fish, etc), steamed and garlic-fried rice, congee, a vegetable dish, breads for toasting, fresh fruit and fruit cups, coffee and water. Lunch/Dinner: In the restaurant/lobby. Room-service is available. As we only ate the included breakfast, we cannot comment on price. However, due to our experience with breakfast, we can presume the other food to be the same high quality. Snacks-Expensive: Coffee is free and available 24hrs. Beer, soda and other snacks are very expensive. Bottled water is P50 (same size/brand is P15 at 7-11). A can of soda is P80 (more than double the price of the 7-11 across the street). WiFi: Free in-room WIFI Pool: Various depths from 50-150cm. It's outdoors but sheltered from the sun-- a big plus for us. Parking: Limited, but free. Ball Room/Conference Room: We observed a wedding reception during our stay. We took a quick peek upstairs as guests were arriving; nicely prepared. The staff took excellent care of the wedding party, without ignoring the other hotel guests.

This is a budget hotel showing its age. Short walk to food outlets. As I was only staying overnight it was convenient (and cheap) to get a Grab taxi next morning to the North Bus Terminal. The old model aircon unit worked well and the shower had warm water. It met my needs.
Cargotel Travel Inn

This is a new hotel. We had a room on the first floor with a king sized bed. The room is made out of a shipping container but it is spacious. Comfortable bed however there is no chair or small table to sit at. This would be perfect in the far corner of the room. They only provide 2 end tables and a tiny table next to TV. TV only has Filipino channels. The parking is limited and narrow spaces in front but finding parking in general is always an added bonus when staying in Cebu City. Bathroom is small and no counter or shelves, just sink but hot shower. I like how they reduce plastic usage by providing large refillable containers for shampoo and soap. 5 gallon water cooler provided next to lobby for refilling water pitcher provided in room. Very eco friendly. They only clean the room and change towels once every 3 days. They charge for extra towels and pillows. They provide a hot water kettle. Convenient location, Matias BBQ is across the street (arguably the best BBQ in Cebu). McDonald’s across street. 15 minute walk to J Centre Mall. 10 minute walk to Oakridge Business Park. Metro supermarket across the street. 7/11 and Chowking next door. For the price paid, I have no complaints. It was great location, large comfortable bed and provided everything I needed.
RedDoorz Plus @ As Fortuna Cebu

The signboard of the hotel was Moriyama Hotel, so it's probably a Japanese owner. There was a snack and coffee service not found in other Red Doors. The staff were very friendly and comfortable, even though it was half the price of the big hotel I stayed the day before. You have to walk a little to fast food shops, calenderia and convenience stores
Residenz Inn

Nice affordable place. A bit off the tourist area, but since I needed that location to take my bus next morning it was ideal. Host is nice and very helpful. Convenient to take the morning bus to the ferry taking me to Malapascua.
