第一次住洞穴酒店，超棒的入住體驗！房間衞生乾淨，空氣清新温暖，並不潮濕。早餐時遇到又高又帥又紳士的Gianvito，他發現我們不懂意大利語，主即拿出手機翻譯中文告訴我們怎樣用早餐，中途還詢問我們是否還需要其它食物，非常細心和貼心！下次去馬泰拉，還會選擇入住這家酒店。

酒店位於馬泰拉歷史區，租車不能到達。好在酒店工作人員提前通過郵件告知，並且提供最近停車場地址。等我們把車停下，一個電話就趕來接上我們到酒店。並且非常詳細地在地圖上畫出步行遊覽城市的詳細道路。
酒店房間不多，每間都非常有特色。我們被免費升級到有陽台的房間，可以邊曬太陽邊欣賞城市美景，好不愜意。

This hotel is one of the most unique we have ever stayed at. The rooms are dug into the limestone that makes up most of Matera Old Town, but they are clean spacious, modern rooms. Our friends and my wife and I had booked 4 rooms and they were all as different as the next, but again, all modern and comfortable. By far, one of the best aspects of our 4 night stay was the staff. From the owner, Giancarlo, to David the desk clerk and to Sara and Bruna (I hope I spelled them all correctly). The service was impeccable, from the free breakfast to helping us out with restaurant recommendations to directions. All of the staff spoke English, which was a big help. I studied Italian on-line for a year to help on our trip, but a 70 year old brain doesn't absorb like it did 50 years ago. If you go to Matera, which you should because it's like no other place you've ever been to, then make sure you stay at Le Malve Cave Retreat. You'll be very glad you did.

Wonderful location in the Sassi. Parking and shuttle to the location make getting there easy. Rooms are lovely and the staff incredibly helpful - kudos to Sara and Davide. Lovely breakfast in the morning is a perfect way to start a day of exploring this incredible city.

What an absolutely wonderful experience we had, great hosts and fantastic place. Breakfast was best we had during our two weeks road trip, and the tips from the team for sightseeing and dinner were spot on.
