"It has an excellent location, if you had a car you would arrive at the hotel by car, through pedestrians but you will arrive to unload your bags. There is no valet but there is a paid public parking lot, very close to the hotel, 3 minutes walk. The hotel is small, I think it has 10 apartments. The receptionist who served us was extremely polite, attentive, gave us all the information about Matera upon our arrival, There is an elevator for the rooms which are spacious, comfortable, large bathroom, well decorated rooms, comfortable bed, excellent bed and bath linen in the morning is that it's a little simple in a small room, but it was enough, It has a balcony and a room that overlook the city which at night is very beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel"

"My daughter and I spent an absolutely wonderful two nights at the Sassi Hotel last week. We loved our room 503 with amazing views over the Sassi from the bedroom and bathroom windows! The beds were very comfy too and the air conditioning was good. It is a really lovely, quaint hotel built into the rock and is a brilliant location for visiting everywhere in Matera. Loved the bruschetta at breakfast. All the staff were very friendly too. We didn’t want to leave!!"

"We travel often but we have never come across a 4 star hotel in these conditions… Poor cleaning and in some parts of the hotel non-existent. Even more safety if we consider that the entrance to the pool and the return to the room is done from the emergency stairs so anyone can access the rooms because the doors are not alarmed… But it is a regular at this structure to occupy the passage of the emergency doors (I attach a photo) The rooms have broken and dirty bathrooms in fact we changed 3 rooms because the bathrooms were unpresentable and with pieces of wall and detached sanitary ware. The pool with insects and cleaning machines in the water but evidently not working. There would be much more to review but we advise you to choose perhaps to stay in a more central area with the same money and also find more services. I attach a photo"

"Brand new, greatly decorated small boutique hotel, right in the Sassi area. Bed, shower, breakfast. Everything was top. Public parking is 150 meters - really a stone throw. But…Check out time is 10 am. Yes. 10 am. We were on a vacation trip. 9:30 was our average breakfast time, so it really messed up our morning."
