The Good Life Mauritius

We stayed there for a week. The staff and owners have a real sense of hospitality that makes you feel welcome and helped with anything you need. It's quiet and the pool is great to relax after the beach. You can also reach a lot of great beaches and super U grande baie easily from there

I had a wonderful stay at Good Life Lodges. The place was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The peaceful location made it perfect for a relaxing getaway. Every detail is thought of, from beach towels and insect repellent in the rooms to a list of local contacts and recommendations (including restaurants that will pick you up for free!). If you’re a light sleeper, an eye mask and ear plugs might be helpful, since it gets bright quite early and the birds and frogs can be a little noisy. For breakfast, the home-made bread and fluffy pancakes are fantastic and we loved the fresh local fruit (some of it directly from the garden).

Antoine made us feel very welcome on our arrival; extremely friendly & knowledgable; thank-you. He supplies a list of good restaurants; trips; etc. The Good Life are eco lodges. 8 in total. 4 facing the pool & 4 to the rear. Make sure you book a pool facing room. The rooms are bright, airy & open plan…including the bathroom. As it’s an eco lodge the air conditioning is turned off during the day; however we asked for ours to be left & Antoine obliged; but please turn it off if you are out for the day. Our pool view room had a lovely verandah; very peaceful & relaxing at the end of the day. The rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, but no fridge; however you can use their communal fridge to store beers, drinks, snacks, etc. There is no bar, but you can bring alcohol back if you desire. The breakfast is beautiful; different egg choices, fruit, tea/coffee, juices, etc. Lovely pool setting with day beds. The best thing about this place is that it’s quiet !!! You can hear some traffic at times, but it’s mainly peaceful with just the sound of birds. Being in the far north of the island (which is beautiful); you will need wheels to get around. Short walk to local beach & the pretty chapel. The more built up Gran Baie is a 15 minute drive/ride away. 1hr30 from airport (2100MUR) £37 one way. We would both highly recommend The Good Life !!! Beautiful hideaway in a colorful garden with many birds and a pool which I enjoyed in the late evenings, watching stars and flying foxes. The room was nicely decorated and made me feel at home. The whole staff is amazing, Antoine gave me lots of valuable informations which made my trip so wonderful. The food was delicious! Wish I had stayed there much longer.

There are very few places where you arrive and you are so honestly welcome that you feel home. This is how I would describe The Good Life. The manager has always time for a short chat. He also recomended to us many great atractions, bars and restaurants. He was always there to help us. The Good Life looks exactly like on the photos available on the page - like a small paradies! You are awake and you see the beautiful and colourful garden from your bed. The location is very good to discover the north of the island. They serve also delicious breakfast. It is a definitely a place to visit! If not for a stay then for a breakfast or a lunch at least!
