The location is undeniably excellent, placing you right in the heart of Melbourne's CBD with easy access to shopping and dining. Overall, the Grand Hyatt Melbourne offers a reliable and upscale experience for those seeking a central and comfortable stay.

Situated within the free tram zone, stations are just downstairs if not within a quick walk. The king bed room is large and spacious for easy packing and unpacking. It is new and clean that is the carpet has no smell. It is near Chinatown as well. The location is perfect next to great shopping malls, food options and transport services. They do not provide toothbrushes and room slippers for eco reasons. Check in was fast and smooth. There’s a water station on my floor to get a jug of still or sparkling water.

They should either downgrade the 5-star status or upgrade the rooms. This is no longer a high-end hotel. The room was poorly equipped and unattractive, and the bathroom was falling apart. The sockets were awkwardly designed and didn’t fit my standard adapter. Additionally, there was no power supply near the bed or nightstands. Overall, despite its great location, this hotel was a disappointment.
Park Hyatt Melbourne is a world-class hotel, and it's location is as distinctive as it's design and interior. Conveniently situated in one of Melbourne's most historic areas, at the top of Collins Street and opposite St Patrick's Cathedral. Hotel is completely non-smoking .

I want to give this hotel 10 stars!!!
I booked a 6-night stay in Melbourne on a business trip. I was really satisfied with the stay and felt friendly and loved~
1. The location of the hotel couldn't be better. It is just behind Melbourne Town Hall. You can walk to Collins Street, City Center and Chinatown for shopping and dining. There are two large parks in front and next to it, and there are full of coffee shops opposite
2. The hotel has a guide dog named Mr. Walker, who was raised by the Victorian Guide Dog Organization. He came to the hotel when he was over 1 year old and became the guide dog ambassador of the hotel! He patrols the lobby for one hour every day from Monday to Saturday at 10:30 am and 15:30 pm! Help special people in need.
The dog was raised by the staff's love. He is now over nine years old and very strong. He is quiet at work and very lively after work. The staff said that he would go for a walk, take a bath and sleep after dinner every day.
3. The staff are very friendly and answer all questions. There are also several Chinese staff members who are expected to provide better help.
4. The hotel room is too big, much bigger than several accommodations of the same brand and price in Australia!
5. The hotel has its own tennis court, which is charged by the hour, but I didn't go there. It looks very big from the room.
6. The sanitation is super good. The auntie cleans up every time and provides drinking water.
This is my first time in Melbourne. It's a really great city! I will come to see this dog named Walker again.

Came here as a ‘staycation’ for one night to celebrate my partners birthday. Service was good, the reception team made us feel so welcomed. Room was clean and the view of the river and bay was superior, as the name of this room type described. 10/10 👍🏼 we also used the gym which had a nice view too!

We stayed altogether three nights here. The hotel was converted from a historical building dated back to 1890s . We enjoyed the stay-included breakfast at Alluvial restaurant. It got charming vibe. the King Classic room we stayed is spacious consider it is in zone 1 of Melbourne. The hotel is in walking distance to many of the Melbourne city attractions we are even able to take some rest in the room in our planned city walking trip in the middle of a very hot summer sunny day.
The bathroom provides Byredo toiletries which we like. However, the decor is a bit dated and need refreshing and we are not happy with the service level of the staff. For example, the phone handfree function is not working properly; the safe is according to the hotel ”in the process of replacement” and not working either; the call to ”Instant Service” for help often took more than 5-seconds ring especially during the night time. There is even a false fire alert during one of the morning time of our stay. I doubt it is a standard of Intercontinental hotel or a 5-star rated hotel.
For whom consider staying at this room type of this hotel, please note the windows is fixed and facing the hallway so the room has 1. no natural sunlight 2. no fresh air and 3. needs closing the curtains all the time if you prefer privacy. Another point worth noting is the bathroom floor is very slippery after bath, I would call it a death trap if you wear the one-off slippers that is provided in the room as you can easily get a slip and fall on the bathroom floor even for a grown adult.

We are very disappointed with the management of this hotel.
We booked seven rooms and chose twin beds (can be a king-size bed or a twin bed). On January 13, we contacted Ctrip customer service to make changes, changing to 2 king-size beds, 4 twin beds, and 1 triple room. After communicating with the hotel, Ctrip customer service replied to the email saying that the change had been made and that the change to a triple room could be paid on the spot. The day before check-in, we specifically called the hotel reservation department and the front desk, but they didn't know about the room type change. We explained the situation over the phone again, and they said they had recorded it. In the evening, we were worried, so a staff member went to the hotel front desk specifically to confirm again. The hotel front desk actually said that they didn't know about this situation, but they could record it. They recorded the required room type on the spot, and then we paid the upgrade fee for the triple room. I thought it would be okay now. As a result, when the guests checked in the next day, there was still a mistake in the room, and the bed was left as a king-size bed. Finally, it took more than half an hour to coordinate and change the room again! ! How can such management be rated as a five-star hotel? ? ?

Exceptional Stay at W Hotel Melbourne
I recently stayed at the W Hotel in Melbourne, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the experience was seamless, stylish, and luxurious.
The design of the hotel is modern and chic, with vibrant decor that perfectly captures Melbourne’s cosmopolitan vibe. My room was impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed, and offered stunning views of the city. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail in amenities—from the plush robes to the high-end toiletries—made it feel like a true escape.
The staff were exceptional—attentive, warm, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure my stay was perfect. Dining at the hotel was also a highlight; the food was creative, fresh, and bursting with flavor.
The hotel’s location is ideal, placing you in the heart of Melbourne with easy access to restaurants, shops, and attractions. Whether you’re there for business or leisure, the W Hotel offers the perfect blend of comfort and style.

Amazing
GGuest UserThe room was a really good size. The balcony was at a level where there was no building blocking either the view or afternoon sun - we had to pay extra for this though. The fridge didnt really seem to work, at least the freezer didnt. When putting icecreams in the freezer, they melted, so I turned the dial to cooler and then the fruit in the fridge froze our fruit. We really shouldnt need to adjust settings in the fridge/freezer for them to work. Also the toilet keep running after it flushed. The only way to stop the running of water was to push down on the flush a few times quickly.

AAngelinchinaThis hotel is conveniently located between the CBD and the eastern suburbs of Fitzroy and Collingwood.
This hotel is the former headquarters of the Salvation Army so the hotel has a very nice entrance.
Staff are helpful and friendly and the rooms are comfortable and spacious.
The hotel features a gym and a swimming pool that is good for lane swimming but not leisure swim.
The rooms are nice but it is worth mentioning that unless you get the more expensive rooms you will face a wall and will have partial views only.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel due to its location and price/value.
JJM80Next door to DFO, good location for DFO shopping. 5-10 mins walk to tram which take you to central.
House keeping 4 out of 5. Had to call to request basics like water which was not left in the room. Quick service and rectified upon calling.
Would stay at this hotel again.

AAnonymous UserThe room was very clean and quiet, and the front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. However, one major disappointment was the “city view” — despite purchasing a city view room, there was no actual city view, which was quite disappointing at first. That said, the outstanding service made up for it overall.
The pillow selection in the room was very limited and the pillows themselves were quite small and uncomfortable — they didn’t really feel like proper pillows, which was also disappointing. Additionally, the desk lamp was not working properly and kept flashing, and the room lighting setup was inconvenient; there was no option to select which areas to light up, so the room often felt too bright.
The room service menu offered very limited food choices, so we ended up going out for both dinner and breakfast. Lastly, the shower head switch was extremely tight and difficult to turn, which needs improvement.

GGuest UserSecond time staying here, the hotel location is good, thumbs up!
The largest shopping mall in South Asia is right outside, and it is very convenient to eat!
However, many stores close at around 5pm from Monday to Wednesday, Australians who lie flat! Enjoying life is the most important thing!
AAnonymous UserLocated in the heart of Melbourne, this hotel offers convenience with its proximity to both a train station and popular shopping malls. The perfect choice for travelers looking to explore the city easily. With comfortable rooms and excellent service, this hotel provides a great base for your Melbourne adventure.
JJosph9999I recently stayed at this hotel and, while the amenities were decent, the location was a major disappointment. Despite being advertised as ”centrally located,” it was quite far from key attractions and conveniences. Public transportation options were limited, making it difficult to get around without spending extra money on taxis or rideshares. Additionally, the surrounding area felt somewhat isolated, with very few restaurants or shops nearby, leaving us with little to do in the immediate vicinity. If you're looking to explore the city or enjoy a more lively environment, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
GGuest UserIt's only two minutes' walk to St Kilda Road and you can take any of the seven trams to the city. Very convenient.
The room is very decent in size and the view is nice. The only complaint I have is the ceiling lights are so dim that I couldn't even pack/unpack my luggage in the evening. The bathroom lights are motion triggered and only work when it is dark enough. I had difficulties shaving in the morning. I think it's a design fault.
KKarinaCannot fault the staff however the amenities need overhaul. The rooms TV didn’t work was advised couldn’t be fixed until the following day. Went to use hairdryer to find out no power points on that side of room were working. Again advised cant be fixed straight away. Had to use TV as a mirror for blow drying hair! Then we continued to get calls after 10pm from reception checking if everything was alright despite being told it cannot be fixed. Really disappointing. On a positive to GM and receptionist Cheryl were outstanding in trying to assist and did remove some charges.
