"We stayed for 3 nights! The location is great! Super close to the Queen market and stations. We enjoy the SPA and swimming pool, the room is nice and clean. The kitchen facilities was not very enough! The cooking stuffs was very small. It was not enough to cook food for 4 ppl, and no oven equipped. One point made me very disappointed to the hotel. We left the room at 10:40am, and expected a cleaning service after we left. When we return after 3pm. The room was not cleaned, no bath towel, no replace of shampoo and shower gel, and the rubbish bin was totally full after 2 nights stay. I got a card at the door said we put a ”Do not disturb” sign (we didnt put) , and the staff wrote at 1:40pm. I went to the reception and bring the supplements myself. The receptionist said will investigate the situation, and it was no any follow-up and reply to me. This was the 1st time I have ever met, and it was a very bad ending in the au journey."

"The staff are super helpful and friendly. But the bathroom and toilet facilities are a bit outdated. The tap over the wash basin keeps dripping water and it's making loud dripping sound that it's disturbing our sleep. Since we only stayed for a couple of nights, so we did not bother to ask for change of room. Also, it really difficult to turn the tap on and off with these old-styled taps. Hopefully some renovation is in line soon when we come back next year to stay there..."

"The Great Southern Hotel Melbourne is our preferred hotel whenever we travel to Melbourne. It is strategically located near to tram and Southern Cross station. It also provide the option of early check in at 10am despite we need to pay $30 for this option which i think is reasonable, as we can rest in hotel early after a long journey."

"Location: Just a few hundred meters from Southern Cross, with convenient stores, restaurants, and tram stops nearby. Transportation is very accessible. Room: Spacious, clean, and comfortable. Service: Below even the most basic guesthouses. Some of their policies are unbelievable for a hotel apartment in 2026. They seem dedicated to turning essential services into paid items. Unless you have no other choice, I don't recommend it. 1. The front desk isn't 24-hour. Don't book here if you arrive after 8 PM local time, as there's an extra service charge. 2. If you forget your key and need someone to let you into the apartment, there's an extra service charge. 3. If everything goes smoothly during check-in, you're a customer. If there's a problem, they act like they're royalty. A normal response would be to help solve the issue, but they seemed annoyed that it was delaying their shift, and their attitude was terrible. Amenities: Kitchenware, refrigerator, washing machine – everything you need. Just remember to bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, and slippers."

"The location is good but other than that I would not call it a pleasant stay. Rooms and bathrooms are pretty dirty. They clean regularly but apparently not thoroughly. Power on my bunk did not work. The room has a 'temporary' AC which has collected dust like it has been there for a while already and it is unbearably loud. The exhaust air of this is routed to a closed window, therefore all the air stays in the room. Luckily I figured that out and opened the window the 2nd night but the AC still was loud. For $80 a night I do expect more."

"This is an old-school hotel that opened in 1913, and its original design aimed to match the luxury of London. The hotel lobby is absolutely stunning. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient with check-in. The elevator hall has a simple, vintage charm. The room itself isn't large, but as you explore, you find thoughtful amenities like slippers and toothbrushes, and other facilities cleverly hidden in well-designed cabinets. Everything looks quite nice when revealed. The bed was very comfortable, and the duvet wasn't too thin. My window faced an internal courtyard wall, so there wasn't really a view, even on the 8th or 9th floor. However, this also meant the hotel was very quiet. The shower only had a half-screen, so water tended to splash near the toilet. You need to be a bit careful when showering. The sink was small but deep, likely custom-made to fit the compact room. Overall, the design and layout are quite reasonable, providing necessary facilities within limited space. I purchased breakfast when I booked, and I remember it wasn't expensive, though it usually costs a bit more if you book it at the hotel. The breakfast spread wasn't very generous, and there were no live cooking stations. It was, at best, on par with a three-star town hotel's breakfast; I didn't even see boiled eggs. Surprisingly, though, they offered congee (rice porridge) with toppings like pork floss, seaweed, and dried anchovies, giving it a Southeast Asian twist. A little later, I saw Singapore Airlines flight attendants come down for breakfast, and it all made sense then – catering to a specific market need. Even though there wasn't a huge variety, they did offer gluten-free bread and banana cake. My friend said the croissants were terrible, looking like reheated frozen items. The breakfast staff also seemed visibly tired and a bit impatient, which is understandable considering breakfast starts at 6:30 AM. Despite the limited selection, I ate a lot that day, and the individual items were quite tasty."

"The location is super convenient, easy to get around by tram or on foot. It's just a 5-minute walk to a large supermarket, Chinatown, various Chinese restaurants, and Asian supermarkets. In 10 minutes, you can walk to Melbourne's busiest shopping street, the CBD area, RMIT, and other attractions. The room is spacious and very comfortable. To find a hotel with such good value for money in the CBD is a real bargain, especially the bedding, which was incredibly comfortable. The only downside is that the bathroom shower had a glass partition but no door, so the floor would get wet after showering, though thankfully there was a floor towel. The Western breakfast was a bit repetitive; it was the same every day for the six days we stayed. However, the hotel service was indeed excellent! When we checked in, the front desk staff, knowing it was our first visit, proactively introduced us to public transport and attractions."

"A typical backpacker hostel. One capsule per person. Other facilities are shared. The kitchen is messy but well-equipped. The bathrooms are quite clean. The two managers are foreigners. Communication might be difficult if you don't speak English, but they are very nice, friendly, and welcoming. The entrance is a bit hard to find. After going up the stairs from the entrance and reaching the first security gate, don't go through that gate; instead, go directly through the small door on the right. There are no signs on the door."

GGuest UserThis is a very nice resort. The interior is very clean and large. Bed is comfortable and toilet is good with jacuzzi. You will see kangaroos and cockatoos outside the cottage in the morning and evening. My kids enjoy the stay very much. However you need to either cook your own meals or drive out to eat. The drive is about 15 mins.

Mmatieyan1967This has to be the best airport hotel I've ever stayed in. It's just a few minutes' walk to T4d or T3 terminals. DDaphh02The Highlights 1. The location of this hotel is second to none. Right outside the door, you’ll find endless food options from quick bites to diverse international cuisines, plus plenty of cafés, bars, and public transport. Having the SkyBus stop to the airport just around the corner was convenient. 2. Every team member I met was friendly, approachable, and genuinely eager to help. They are well-trained and motivated to provide excellent service. 3. The room itself was spacious and modern. Both the daytime city views and night lights from the window were wonderful, and the furnishings felt new and well-maintained. 4. Guests have access to some excellent facilities, including a gym, a library, and a full wellness area. The indoor pool is comfortably heated even on a chilly Melbourne evening, and it comes with a sauna and bubble spa, which makes the stay feel more like a resort. What Could Be Improved 1. The room setup felt unusual. I booked a one-bedroom suite, but was placed in a two-bedroom apartment with the master bedroom locked off. I completely understand that I only paid for one room, but it felt a little strange knowing there was a part of “my” room I couldn’t access. Personally, I would have preferred a proper one-bedroom layout with full access. 2. The bedroom I was 'allowed' to stay in also didn’t have its own air conditioning. It relied on the living room’s unit to keep cool, while the locked-off master had its system. This design made things a bit uncomfortable at times, especially overnight. 3. The sofa had an unpleasant, urine-like odour, which made us reluctant to rest in the lounge. 4. The main door lock was rusty and stiff, making it frustrating to open and close. 5. There was no landline phone in the room to contact reception, so the only option was to head downstairs. A couple of times, even during office hours, the reception was unattended (likely because one staff member was juggling multiple tasks). It could be so inconvenient to have a more extended stay. 6. While the pool facilities were lovely, they were often crowded. The common facilities are shared with residents of the building as well as hotel guests, but this detracted from the relaxing vibe. Would I stay here again? Yes, probably. Mainly because of the unbeatable location, the great facilities, and the friendly staff. But I do think the hotel needs to address the details so that it can align with what they claimed as 'luxury'.

AAnonymous UserAn absolutely terrible experience, the service is practically non-existent. I wouldn't recommend staying here. At 8 AM, I discovered the hairdryer in my room was broken. With wet hair, I couldn't leave. I immediately called the front desk, and they said they'd ”arrange for a new one to be sent right away.” After waiting 20 minutes with no one showing up, I called again at 8:20 AM. The front desk once more said they'd ”follow up.” By 8:30 AM, on my third call, it was still just ”Okay, okay.” I couldn't wait any longer and had to go down to the front desk with my hair still soaking wet. Upon arriving at the front desk, it seemed like only one person was working in the entire hotel. This staff member was simultaneously checking out guests and rushing to the storage room to find a hairdryer for me. Throughout the entire process, there was no one to assist, no one to coordinate, and no one offered an apology. That whole morning, apart from the front desk being this 'isolated island,' I felt no presence from any other department. It wasn't until 9 AM that I finally got a hairdryer. This wasted a whole hour of my time, just waiting around, when I could have left much earlier. During my four-day stay, the only staff I ever saw were at the front desk and in the breakfast restaurant. As for other departments? They were nowhere to be seen. If a hotel can't even guarantee basic room service, what's the point of staying? I do not recommend it.

JJason的旅遊頻道The hotel website stated parking was $35, but it actually cost $40. Self-parking involved driving our own car to the adjacent parking lot, and valet parking was $95. The hotel's location was very convenient for transport, and the unique breakfast was a definite highlight. However, despite requesting a high-floor, street-view room away from the elevators, we were assigned a room right by the elevators with only a limited street view, which somewhat diminished the five-star experience. There was no in-room washing machine, and we had to send out laundry at an extra cost, which was quite inconvenient. I only booked this hotel because I wanted to experience a five-star property; however, despite its five-star rating, it just felt like something was missing.

GGuest UserVery easy check in. Instructions by reception were spot on.  The one bedroom apartment was huge. Plenty of room with an equally huge balcony.  The place was clean, apart from one of the towels that had some type of hard black stain that stick do towels to it’s self. Not ideal, but this would be an issue with the laundry company that Quest use.  I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend.

GGuest UserRoom was clean and comfortable. Pleased that our room and bed sizes got upgraded as there was one available. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great and very close to the station, restaurants and shopping mall.  Little gym has the essentials for fitness which I was able to make use of. Only complaint was the buffet breakfast - very average if not poor quality. Fruit salad didn’t look fresh, hash browns looked over cooked and dry. Most food seemed as it had simply been taken out of packets or the fridge and served straight away, with no preparation behind it.  However for what was paid, we did get our money’s worth.

GGuest UserThe receptionist wasn’t very friendly. Easy check in. Plenty of parking space. Room was basic but clean. Insulation of the room was not good. It was cold as we can feel the cold air entering the room from the window and door edges. Heater wasn’t functioning. Easy check out. Location ok. Not worth for the price we paid.

GGuest UserThe hotel is geared towards sustainability, which I love. There is a shared fridge, and pantry where you can store and reheat the food you buy outside. One downside though is that the water is only available at the pantry which means, you always need to go down to Level 2 to grab some water. The room was small but clean. Location-wise, it’s very ideal - there are many restaurants, cafes and convenience store nearby! It is near Victoria Market too!

BBec143I’ve stayed at numerous at the Punt Hill apartments over the past decade, though it had been a while since I last stayed in one. Our one bedroom apartment was spacious, however the hotel is quite run down now. Walls in the bathroom weren’t very clean, neither were mugs and cutlery (I always make a habit of cleaning things before I use them!). I ended up staying mostly in the hotel as I was sick with the flu so I noticed the wifi was very glitchy and intermittent too so it made streaming shows quite difficult to watch that I ended up just using my phone. The beds were comfortable though! The location is actually fantastic too, right in the heart of China town and easily walkable to places.
