We walked in without a booking and they welcomed us in with open arms. The hospitality was exceptional and they all had such kind warm hearts, entertaining us with stories of their South African heritage. The food was outstanding too. 10/10

Hugely welcoming and genuinely biker friendly: great facilities for you AND your two wheeler. Good food (note kitchen closes at 8pm though), clean and well appointed room, excellent bar. Great value and highly recommended (and terrific riding around Borders).

Stayed over one night here as part of out introduction to motorcycle touring. The room was well appointed and scrupulously clean, nice powerful shower and a comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was excellent - we recommend trying the South African dishes on offer. We both had the Bobotie which was wonderful and they were kind enough to give us the recipe so we can try it at home. Breakfast was equally good - give the Smokies a go. Everyone in the hotel and restaurant is incredibly welcoming and friendly - nothing is too much trouble. Special mention for Dave, who is quite possibly the nicest person on planet Earth ! Would we recommend ? Are we going again ? We've already booked for another visit next year - that should say it all.

Where to start, I have to say if your a biker this is a must visit hotel. The welcome we recieved from Dave was so warm and friendly he made you feel like you knew him forever. We were shown our bike parking places and then shown all the facilities to hand inc a power washer, compressor, a garage full of lubricants , cloths , cleaning products and polishes. The hotel has a lovely warm welcoming feel to it, a cosy bar and a lounge area with leather sofas and arm chairs which is really comfy. Upstairs you will find a map room and best of all a drying room which is brilliant when you get caught in a shower of Scottish liquid sunshine. The rooms are clean and tidy and really comfortable beds all rooms are ensuite and very well laid out. The resturant is excellent and a good choice of menu. The food is excellent really tasty. Dave is always on hand to offer weather updates and routes to avoid rain. Probably the best hotel I've ever been to and I plan on a return visit Thanks Dave and all the staff at the buccleuch arms for a great memorable stay

Great hotel for bikes, or anybody that likes a hotel where the staff and guests are all sociable and fun to be around. If you are a biker, there are great facilities to store you bike safely. One of the biggest surprises was how good the food was. Thoroughly recommend this place. The staff will help you with great routes to ride if you ask them.

What an outstanding place. Especially, if like us, you arrive by motorbike. Our one night stay started with an extremely warm welcome from our host who was waiting for us on arrival. Bikes are secured in a secure compound at the rear of the hotel and individual lock up sheds are provided for your bikes security. There's a jet wash, compressor, cleaning materials and lubricant, etc etc at your disposal. Inside the hotel is very clean, very homely and the staff are amazingly friendly. Our room was spotless and the large modern bathroom was a God send. We ate in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and the food was superb. I can't recommend this place enough.

Difficult to know where to start, It's not like staying in a Hotel. Its is so comfortable, its like being home, only better, loads of big leather sofas, lots of space for groups, excellent food, drinks, and the staff are like goods friends. From tyres being replaced in a evening to jet washing, and anything you could possibly need on hand, or obtainable. Dave and his family make it happen, you also get a weather forecast that can tell you when you need to stop for coffee to avoid the rain shower, All the best routes and places to stop, plus a sandwich bag, to take. It would be very hard to pass again without stopping, if traveling around the area or going up or returning from the North. What an excellent find. Thank you Dave and everyone for a outstanding week. We stayed for four nights as a group of seven and had an absolutely brilliant experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome — nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the modern bathrooms were a real bonus. The food throughout our stay was excellent — especially the generous, tasty breakfasts, which offered plenty of choice and set us up perfectly for the day ahead. As a group of motorcyclists, we really appreciated the secure and convenient parking, as well as the warm hospitality after a long day’s ride. The hotel is ideally located for exploring the surrounding area and makes a great base for touring. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and highly recommend it — especially for fellow bikers looking for a welcoming and well-run place to stop!
