"The facilities, ambiance, and amenities are as simple as the name suggests. Air conditioning isn't necessary in Mohe during the summer, as the nights are very cool. The large kang (fired bed) is a delightful experience and well worth trying. The room is spacious, and the kang itself is also large. Just outside the window is the owner's own vegetable garden, stocked with a wide variety of vegetables. The owner and his wife were incredibly kind and welcoming. Upon arrival, the owner's wife gave us a plate of tomatoes and grapes, cut up the watermelon, and washed the cucumbers. The cucumbers were incredibly fresh and delicious, consuming them in less than five minutes from the moment they were picked. The owner also provided pick-up and drop-off services, and the food recommendations were also very affordable and delicious. He also clearly explained the fun, the bad, and the pitfalls. He is a truly warm and hospitable Northeasterner. If you have the chance, come and see the snow and the Northern Lights in winter."
