This is an excellent no-frills place that is VERY clean, with excellent service by the family that owns it and it comes with a great breakfast. Rooms and furniture are all really good, bathrooms with good pressure and hot water. There's a minimart about 100 feet away, and the town of Monteverde is less than 5min by car. I would definitely stay here again!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Nafre House in Monteverde. The owner is a lovely Costa Rican woman who goes out of her way to make sure you have everything that you need. She will arrange tours and transportation for you. When my stomach was aching, she offered to bring me a cup of tea. She also listened to me speak intermediate level Spanish with great patience and she complimented my efforts. If you do not speak Spanish, she will speak some English and her son speaks English very well. The owner also cooks breakfast in the morning for you. The rooms are extremely neat and clean. This is a great way to meet a Costa Rican family while you explore a beautiful part of the country.

We did a last minute booking and on arrival it was simple but everything was there for our 2 night stay A family run bed and breakfast who were very accommodating laundry service super cheap perfect at our half way point of our trip compared to any hotel They even allowed us to bring a picnic supper providing us with plates and utensils . Comfortable beds good size room hot showers clean throughout lots of towels Coffee making and kettle so lovely to have a proper cup of tea Fantastic breakfast all prepared by the family. English spoken by the daughter and very helpful with our questions Very quiet and peaceful for a great night sleep. Perfect for family Highly recommend

What a welcome! What a special place. By great good fortune we happened onto Nafre House when seeking something convenient for the many sights and experiences offered in Santa Elena and Monteverde. As soon as we walked into the office we were greeted with Nancy’s warm smile and gracious ways. She showed us the triple room she had available, just what we needed and hard to find. Breakfast was included for a very fair price. However the stars of this place are Nancy and her lovely family. We arrived as strangers but left as friends. The teenagers practiced their excellent English in fun conversations as well as helping us express ideas we didn’t have Spanish for, while Nancy arranged tours for us based on our interests and was amazingly responsive on WhatsApp any time we had a question. Comfortable and located within easy reach of everything we wanted to do, just outside the craziness and traffic of downtown but still super convenient. Nancy made us feel that nothing was too much trouble, always kind and helpful, always a joy to see and ask questions of. She grew up in the area so her local knowledge and connections are second to none. And she is just a lovely person to deal with. Our room was spotlessly clean and breakfast was generous and delicious! We really can’t say enough good things about this sweet gem of a hotel.

Ich habe hier drei Nächte verbracht. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und immer bemüht mein sehr schlechtes Spanisch zu verstehen. Leider sprachen nicht alle Englisch so das die Kommunikation manchmal etwas stockte. Aber mit Händen und Füßen und manchmal einer "Translator App" gab es keine Probleme. Mauricio, ein travel Guide, war ausgesprochen hilfreich bei der Planung, Buchung und Durchführung unserer Aktivitäten. Kann ich nur wärmstens empfehlen. Hat sich wirklich gelohnt. Das Frühstück war gut und das Zimmer sehr sauber. Eine Klimaanlage gab es zwar nicht, aber der Ventilator war vollkommen ausreichend. Kein Temperatur-Schock, keine..., wie gesagt vollkommen ausreichend. Nafre House ist nur wenige Minuten mit dem Auto von Monteverde + Curi-Cancha entfernt, aber es war sehr ruhig um den Tag zu verarbeiten und neue Kraft für den nächsten Tag zu sammeln. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert.

Un petit hôtel tout simple mais très propre à un prix vraiment correct. Chambres familiales. Nancy et son mari sont adorables et nous ont aidés à organiser toutes nos activités, le petit déjeuner est inclus et très correct. Idéal car un peu à l’écart du centre, si vous êtes en voiture. Et at contre le coq chante très tôt
