This lodge on the Levuvhu river provides a fantastic experience and excellent value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful, the guides knowledgeable, the food is great, and the luxury tents are stylish and comfortable. Some of our favourites were the outside shower, coffee and cookies on the stoep while watching the buffalo/crocs/birds in and around the river, cooling off in the pool, the view from Lanner gorge … we can go on and on. Thank you to Andile (our guide) and everyone who made it so special.

Review for Pafuri Tented Camp This was our fourth stay at Pafuri Tented Camp, and that alone should tell you how much we love this place! Every visit is nothing short of phenomenal. From the breathtaking scenery to the warm hospitality, it’s an experience that keeps drawing us back. The tents are beautifully designed, offering the perfect balance of luxury and immersion in nature. Waking up to the sounds of the bush and watching wildlife pass by from our deck never gets old. The staff are exceptional—welcoming, attentive, and always making sure your stay is unforgettable. The food is fantastic, and every meal feels like a special occasion. Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, Pafuri Tented Camp delivers. We can’t wait to “return” for our next visit!

Pafuri Tented Camp is one of the most wonderful places to stay in South Africa. From the beautifully appointed tents with luxurious decor, to the dawn and dusk chorus surrounding your tent, to the sumptuous and diverse meals provided on the deck overlooking the Luvuvhu River, to the unparallelled services with a smile to the game drives and extensive knowledge of the guides, not to mention the diverse habitats that includes Baobab- and Fever Tree forests, this is a place you will want to return to again and again.

Pafuri camp offers luxury tented accommodation in a superb location on the banks of the Luvuvhu River. The service and meals in the camp are excellent. The guided drives take you to breathtaking views of special places such as Lanner Gorge, vast pans and flood plains, fever tree forests, giant baobab trees and the currently flowing Limpopo River. Our guide did his utmost to find all the special birds we had on our wish list. Waking up to several species of owls, nightjars, ground hornbills and robin-chats calling will always be special.

We booked at Pafuri Camp because we wanted to spend some time in the far north of Kruger and were stunned by the beauty of the Mukuleke Contract Park. The accommodations are luxurious, food delicious, and local guides incredibly knowledgeable. We saw amazing wildlife, stunning landscapes (the fever tree forest!), and learned fascinating history on our morning bush walk. We would have booked more nights if we had realized how much this unique place had to offer. They have exclusive rights to the trails in the area and we only saw a small portion.

I have not visited here some 10 times and will, within financial means, visit again. The staff, food, service and experience is absolutely fantastic provided you don't need to see big cats. Highly recommended
