Strawberry Duck Moscow - Hostel

We have stayed at this hostel twice. It was always clean and pleasant. Prices here are very affordable. The staff is polite and available 24/7, which is especially convenient for those with late flights. I definitely recommend this hostel!

During the entire four days that I stayed in the hostel, they never screwed a light bulb into my bedside lamp. In the shower room there is a thick layer of some kind of snot, spit and dried I-don’t-even-want-to-think-what on the walls. It was only on the third day that we managed to obtain the closing documents: at first they assured me that this was impossible. Then it turned out that it was possible, but there was no person who knew how to do it. After ten minutes of arguing, the guy behind the counter gave up and I got the dockets, but the next day. The guys behind the counter are absolutely unfriendly. In response to “Good morning” they just look at you in silence. I'm not even saying that in response to my requests to finally screw in the damn light bulb, they just silently wrote something down somewhere, instead of just finally giving me the lamp so that I could screw it in myself. As for the “rules” of the hostel, for two days a bunch of people were drinking and screaming furiously in the common area. Once they almost came to a fight, but no one was going to calm the raging ducks. Probably because 80% of the time the administrator smokes on the street, and if you decide to go out, they will let you out the door at the fifth ring or at the first cry of “STOP SMOKING, OPEN THE DOOR!” Of the three taps, one does not work, one is leaking, the third has only hot water. The window in the shower is broken and does not close all the way. Washing in a room with a centimeter gap on the street in October would be a bad idea, but I don’t envy those who will come here in a month. Next time I would prefer to spend the night at the station, the level of service will be about the same.
