The location is great. It's only ten minutes walk from the subway. Away from the snack street. Nara Park is close. Old hotel facilities are not that complete. A little cold. Turn on the air conditioner. And the water is very cold. The room is very big and a bit intimidating for one person. It’s okay for two people to experience it

I stayed at Jiangquan Inn for two days and one night, the staff service and shower facilities were good, only the facilities were a bit older.
The hotel is very close to the station or Nara Park, the room is quite large for me, there is a chance that I can stay again next time I visit Nara.
The breakfast in the morning was really good, really quite good.

I travelled with my wife and seven year old daughter. Highlights were our traditional Japanese tatami mat room and the Japanese breakfast. If you are a westerner and have not tried these, try both. The room had a feeling of calm. Our stay in it was restful as we padded about carefully in our slippers or socks or bare feet. Though it's a traditional room, there were plenty of sockets for electrical devices. The Japanese breakfast was served at a traditional Japanese table, set low to the floor, with with seating that allowed our legs to dangle below floor level so we felt completely comfortable. There was a great variety of Japanese breakfast dishes to eat. The attitude of the staff is friendly and kind. We felt the peaceful atmosphere of the temples with their wooden floors and no-shoes rule, extending into this hotel. The price was quite reasonable too.

Ryokan Kosen is just perfect for a stay in Nara. Location is great, just nearby the Pagoda and walking distance from the park. The room was just perfect for our family (japanese style) and we could enjoy the public bath. Staff was very friendly and welcoming

The Ryokan is about a 20-minute walk from Nara Station. The biggest advantage of this Ryokan is its location. Immediately next to the hotel you can walk to the temples and to Nara Park. That is very nice with the free-roaming deer, especially during Sakura. You will receive a friendly welcome and people speak good English. They try to make their guests feel completely at ease. We had a Japanese style room with futon beds. The room was spacious. There was a shared bathroom, but you had your own toilet with sink. We stayed here one night. We had breakfast in the room. It was extensive but entirely Japanese. So hot food and we as Dutch people don't like that. We walked to the Seven Eleven for sandwiches and coffee. As mentioned, we stayed one night and that was a good thing. Unfortunately it was not clean. We were not used to that in Japan. Dirty stains on the ceiling in the room, just like on the walls. Lots of hair in the drain in the shower. And the futons were in very bad condition. Slept badly because of that. Too bad because the service from the employees was top notch. But next time I'll look at something else because the price did not match the quality.
