I recently stayed at Vivanta Colombo Airport Gardens and had a mixed experience. The pool area is absolutely fabulous, offering a great place to relax. The food exceeded my expectations, with wonderful flavors and a good variety. The staff were notably attentive, contributing positively to the overall experience. However, the pricing felt a bit steep for what was offered, especially given the disappointing room view which was just overlooking buildings, contrary to the picturesque images advertised. Additionally, the terms and conditions were confusing and poorly written, potentially disadvantaging guests. A word of advice: skip the pricey airport shuttle service, which costs 4000 Sri Lankan rupees, and opt for an Uber or PickMe ride, which you can get for around 500 rupees.

The hotel is close to the airport, convenient and the staff are all very kind! There were many pilots and flight attendants staying there.

A very good choice for a night near the airport. Large rooms, comfortable beds, everything clean, a very good breakfast, and very attentive staff. We really liked it. Parking is not a problem.
I can't think of anything negative, except that I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays, as it's purely a transit hotel. Aside from breakfast, we didn't use any of the hotel's services/amenities, so I can't give a review on those.
It's also worth mentioning that we booked a room in the new building. On Trip.com, this applies to the "premium rooms."

The sanitation is OK, the quilt has a little smell, the bathroom should be renovated, it's OK, but not big. The wardrobe is relatively simple, the safe in each room is different, and some are not fixed to the wall. The room rate is high because it is close to the airport (4km), and you may not be able to get a taxi at night. The Uber driver will cancel the order and raise the price on the spot. Some hotel reservations include free airport pick-up/drop-off, which is good, and the car is relatively new. There is a third-party business car that can be rented with the driver, and the round-trip price is OK. The service is very good, 90% of the employees are very enthusiastic. The communication with the duty manager is also relatively smooth. There is a souvenir shop downstairs where you can buy recharge cards. The seafood noodles in the Chinese restaurant are not bad. It would be better if the sanitation could be better. The front desk is slow, but the overall service quality is good.
