Petro's Antique House

Beautiful historical guest house,comfortable, nice decorated and beautiful garden. Host was very hospitable. Clean with many facilities in a quiet neighbourhood in the old city next to restaurant and historic places and beautiful old city traditional neighbourhood

Unfortunately we were very unsatisfied and left after 1 of our 2 booked nights. There was no mention of surveillance cameras in the shared spaces (we saw 3). The property was advertised as completely non-smoking and with a washer available for use. When we washed and dried our clothes, however, they smelled of cigarettes due to the owner smoking in the living room. There was a puppy pad full of urine in the kitchen during the entire 20 hours we stayed. The house smelled of urine and cigarettes. Petros was very nice, but refused to acknowledge that urine in the kitchen, nor waiting 1 hour to use the bathroom were issues. We knew the bathroom was shared, but we waited one hour for it to be available. We did not know that the kitchen was shared because the listing said private kitchen. I imagined some atypical space but in reality it is a room in a house with the owners and potentially additional guests from one other room that can be rented. We got the strong impression that the wife does not feel comfortable with guests at least not during our stay. When I informed the owner that we left because we were uncomfortable due to urine and inconsiderate use of bathroom, and advised him to make the listing more clear, he blamed me for not seeing the detail in his listing of a shared space. When I reported this to ***********, they told me that the owner offered us free coffee and tea and use of washer, and owner refused any discount, therefore would not refund us. I have no idea why there are many good reviews, but certainly there are many details not in the listing or reviews. Other small complaints: very dark inside, springy bed, dust balls on top of shelf and TV, and TV not working. It is very unfortunate the owner could not even apologize for the worst part that made us leave, which was urine in the kitchen and waiting for the owner to free up bathroom. Even after he preached to us about his religion, he showed a lack of integrity. Own up to your mistakes and apologize instead of being defensive and greedy.
