I often structure my reviews as Positives and Negatives to give a balanced picture. But however hard I try I can't think of a single Negative for Ardtorna - not even a small nit-picky thing. Ardtorna managed to combine the feel of a top class hotel with the friendly hospitality of a normal guest house. Every comfort is catered for, immaculately clean and a friendly welcome. Breakfast was leagues ahead of anything else we had on our trip. Freshly squeezed orange juice, home made bagels, jams etc, and huge choice. Unusual egg and smoked fish dishes as well as traditional cooked breakfast. When we next do a Scotland road trip I'm sure Ardtorna will be a stop on one or both legs of the trip!

Husband & I stayed in the Dunstaffnage room. It was amazing the view is like an oil painting & all the luxury touches make you feel pampered. We added another night on to our three nights already booked because we didn’t want to leave. The breakfast, sparkle station, bar & evening menu are well thought out & truly 5*. Stay here you won’t regret it but book directly for best price & extras.

We stayed at Ardtorna for 3 nights and on arriving received a very warm welcome from Karen. On our first night we took advantage of the option to have our dinner, a lovely stir fry, prepared by Karen, accompanied by a good bottle of of wine and incredible views across the loch to the mountains and watched the sunset. The breakfast menu offers plenty of options and is freshly prepared each morning with an extensive list of accompaniments. A well stocked ‘honesty bar’, maybe not for breakfast, is available with a wide variety of drinks, especially for the gin fans. The attention to detail in everything is incredible and there is a quality feel everywhere you look. Bed really comfortable and en-suite well designed with easily accessed shower. Parking is easy and overall location fantastic with beautiful views.

From the moment we arrived, this modern bed and “breakfast” near Oban completely wowed us. The setting is stunning — perched right by the loch, with views that honestly look like something out of a postcard. We had car trouble, and Karen waited late to greet us. A full bar, snacks and water was just what we needed after a long drive. The food was absolutely exceptional — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can tell they take pride in every dish. A special shoutout goes to Karen, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Her thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and friendly presence made a real difference — she’s a gem. If you’re visiting the Oban area and want something stylish, comfortable, clean and unforgettable, this place ticks every box. We’re already planning our next trip back.

From our initial booking and contact with Karen, I had a feeling this was going to be a good trip. We were not disappointed. After a very warm welcome we settled in before heading back out to meet up with family. Karen has styled the property beautifully with a great eye for detail. All of the little extra touches throughout show her dedication and passion. I was able to view other areas of the property which were vacant and although I had seen them online, it was a real treat to have a wee tour around all of the beautifully styled options. I do hope we are able to visit again. One of those rare places where you arrive as a stranger and feel like you are leaving as a friend.

We had a lovely weekend in the 2 bedroom property at Ardtorna. We were celebrating my mothers 80th birthday and wanted to take her and my father somewhere special, Ardtorna defiantly was that. The property was spotless and well equipped with stunning views.

Karen has built an incredible experience at Ardtorna with attention to detail to the smallest thing. We stayed for two days during a birthday trip for my wife and the warm welcome, scones, room, views and breakfasts were all exceptional. Well positioned to explore Oban, Glencoe and Fort William areas, it was a true respite. We hope to be back again in the future. Steve & Donna from Canada.
