I never expected MakeMyTrip to be such a money looter. I was charged over night for a room listed as a premium room, but the experience was far from it. The bathroom flush wasn’t working, and most of the pipes were leaking. When we informed the hotel staff, they said a plumber had been called and would come soon.
One staff member gave us a key to another room so we could shift temporarily until the issue was resolved. But as we were moving, another staff member stopped us, saying that room was already booked. We had to stay in the original room. Later, they gave us a different room key just to use the bathroom, but that room was in terrible condition.
A plumber finally arrived the next day and fixed the flush. But then we noticed that one of the windows and a portion of the wall in our room had a gap, allowing insects and other pests to enter easily—very unhygienic and unacceptable.
MakeMyTrip had also mentioned hot water facilities, but in reality, hot water was only available for a few hours in the morning. Even then, due to the poor plumbing, it was nearly unusable.
They also offered a breakfast-inclusive option for two at over ₹5000. Thankfully, I didn’t opt for it. My partner and I had breakfast every day and even had lunch on two days, and the total bill was only around ₹900.
To make matters worse, when I contacted MakeMyTrip customer support about these issues, the call got disconnected midway, and I received no follow-up. I later learned that if I had booked the room directly with the hotel, it would have cost only ₹2500 per night.
I genuinely feel cheated. The room was far below average, and this experience has left me questioning the trustworthiness of MakeMyTrip.
