Firstly the property is pure vegetarian which is not highlited anywhere in the description. Secondly it's an extremely old property which needs a massive renovation. Thirdly despite the breakages l, cleanliness is an issue. I had to get my pillow covers changed which seemed used. Breakfast Buffet was tasteless with limited options. Everything in the room was broken from doorknobs to doors to bathroom floors to rusted metal of doors. The windows did not have a mesh so couldn't leave them open when feeling stuffy since the rooms lack a table fan or a ceiling fan or an AC. For the price the property is not worth it. The only saving grace is the staff, who is very sweet and courteous. The staff at front desk and restaurant are very very outgoing and outserving but that doesn't cover up for an extremely deteriorated property which is almost in shambles

It is scary to book room here...housekeeping staff enters when you are inside room without handing over key to them....management is also least bothered to resolve and help. Don't book this hotel as it is nightmare for tourists ...Regretting our decision of trusting hotel in ooty

I have booked 3 deluxe rooms for two days Rooms are upto the mark.Morning tiffin they offered includes idli,pongal vada, dosai/onion dosai and also north indian items Roti with paneer masala gravy Nan with veg kuruma.But night dinner included only north indian foods. I prefer South Indian to book only the rooms with out breakfast and with out dinner .

Me and my wife, both senior citizens, stayed in The Byke Sunshine Grand, Ooty from 16th to 19th April, 2025.
Our stay was excellent and will be remembered in our memory for years to come. The staff and management was very cooperative and courteous and they solved any problem put to them, to our full satisfaction, smilingly. The food was very tasty. They observed utmost cleanliness not only in the restaurant but in the entire hotel. The location of the hotel is ideal. We would like to stay there again.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Ooty. While the overall experience was decent, there were a few things to note. The room was quite old-fashioned and could definitely use some renovation—it didn’t feel very comfortable or modern.
However, the hospitality of the staff was excellent. They were friendly, polite, and always ready to help. One of the highlights of the stay was the food. Both lunch and breakfast were delicious, and it’s a great place for those looking for pure vegetarian options.
