Great
MmonstergalUpon returning to the hotel after a short excursion, everything is still good as expected. Same friendly staff and clean room. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Oslo. Room n service is above average.
AAnonymous UserReally loved the location which was a 3 min walk away from Oslo Central Station and surrounded by shopping malls! Check in was easy as the concierge is open 24/7 and although the room wasn’t spacious, it was comfortable enough for 2! Super loved their wide spread of buffet breakfast and there’s also a live egg station! Will recommend!
GGuest UserThe location was excellent....close to downtown plus there was an interesting restaurant area behind the hotel that bordered the Akerselva (?) River. However, many of these restaurants were large and did not appeal to me for this reason (see below).
It was also an easy walk to Oslo Central Station.
The hotel itself was appealing - with a nicely decorated lobby.
I was disappointed with the service from the Front Desk staff, who were busy with ”reception related” tasks and had little time to discuss areas of interest in the City. Often there was no one at the front desk.
Also, the bar/restaurant attached to the hotel did not open until the evening, and while there were restaurants close by, many of these were large open spaces and not ”warm”
GGuest UserCloseish hostel to the city, 20-30 minutes to the city/museums/attractions. Strange beds with holes on the ends so all can see inside - many people use towels to cover the end of the bed for privacy. Nice kitchen with fridge and some utensils. Clean most of the time albeit many toilets had feces blockages, and some showers were out of order. Some showers had toiletries which was nice, but not all. Some outdated guides around the hotel so dor research online as the hostel does not keep up to date. I will stay somewhere else next time I visit Oslo but this is a good option if there is nothing else.
GGuest UserWe were very pleased with the hotel. The location is very good, walking distance to many places. Breakfast and dinner (there is a weekly menu) were sufficient, plus there is Fika time every day, tea and dessert are offered. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful. Many thanks especially to Mr. Austin at the reception.
GGuest UserExcellent stay in oslo as it's very close to the train station and bus stops so getting around the city was easy. The hotel has its own luggage storage area which was convenient when we had a late departure from oslo so we could continue to explore whilst our luggage was kept safe.
YYew Hong BensonIt was a pleasant stay and the daily breakfast is one of the highlights.
It is within walking distance to the central train station (Oslo) and it was a short walk to the nearby Christmas market. We walked past the shopping street (Karl Johan) that led us to the Christmas market.
The staff were polite and helpful. We can communicate easily in English. I love that it is a short walk to the Promenade (walking past Oslo Stock Exchange). It is near to the Opera House and the Munch Gallery/Museum.
Highly recommended.
The view from the top is awesome too.
BBillNot a good experience at Numa Hallen. NOT RECOMMENDED. Rooms are big, clean and quiet. However, the “hotel” is not supported by any staff.
The digital check in failed initially. We did not receive the check in email as advised. Maybe if you book directly with Numa, not a third party like Trip, this might work. Don’t know. We rang the web site and Trip advertised phone number to get a check in email. It is disconnected. This defect is recorded in previous reviews, Does anyone read these complaints?
Read the previous reviews and noted the WhatsAPP number to be found at door front. Was ready for this we thought. The WhatsAPP number only has a virtual attendant. So no verbal communication available only short text messages readable. Jumped through many hoops and eventually received our check in details on the kerb outside the hotel. Thought we would be sleeping on the street for a while.
Once inside we noted the big sign in kitchen about leaving a window open when cooking. Next morning all fire alarms in the hotel section went off. A closed window somewhere perhaps. Alarm couldn’t be shut off so we evacuated with our bags like many others. Guess it must happen often due to the prominence of the sign.
The experience wasn’t good and is a great example of technology making life more difficult. The quest to remove people from hospitality jobs diminishes the hospitality aspect. It also leaves no backup except for meaningless, valueless, unaccountable apologies.
The communications failures and fire alarm intrusion are significant infrastructure short comings.
Wouldn’t stay there again.
GGuest UserGreat location. The breakfast buffet had a big variety of food and I really enjoyed it. The lounge was cozy and staff was really nice.
However, the room is not worth the price I paid for. The room is small with the sink and mirror facing the bed. It is impractical to have the sink in the main room, and to have the mirror facing the bed, which has bad spritual meaning. Toothbrushes are not included, and there is no hair conditioner. There is also no air conditioning, but it is okay since Oslo is a cold city. There are several bugs in the corner of the room, and stains could be seen everywhere. The shower is insanely small, which is not friendly for people with bigger body types. There is also no physical lock in the door of the rooms.
Overall, everything about the hotel is nice except the room.
AAdaline MasudaTruly one of the best hotel stays I have ever experienced. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well accommodated and comfortable throughout. When we arrived at the hotel it was 11AM, so I mentioned to the front desk staff that I know it was far too early for us to receive our room (check in is typically at 3PM) and that we would like to simply drop off our bags. Without any special requests, the front desk staff immediately prepared our room keys of us to check in right away, which was hugely appreciated since we had caught a very early morning flight in. We loved the room. It was very comfortable for the 3 of us, although a bit tight but that's what we expected for hotel rooms in Europe. The bathroom was well fitted and had all the basic toiletries required (shampoo, body wash, hand soap), however we hoped to have body lotion as well, so we asked housekeeping whether any was available and they immediately brought 3 LARGE bottles for each of us to use. I have never seen such massive toiletries and in such generous quantities supplied at any hotel before, which again made us feel very well taken care of. Finally on our check out day our flight was not until 6PM and since checkout is typically at 11AM I requested for just a 1 hr extension. Although they were very busy for it being the beginning of summer holidays, without any hesitation the front desk staff extended our checkout time to 3PM. I was once again very pleasantly surprised and appreciative. My last note is to touch on the complimentary tea and coffee always available in the lobby, as well as the fabulous buffet breakfast they served. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!
