"Stayed for 3 days and was a bit far from Alona Beach, but fortunately there was a free shuttle bus at the hotel. The interior of the hotel is beautiful, the facilities are very new, and the complimentary breakfast is not bad. But the hotel is surrounded by villages, dirty and messy, the road to the hotel turned out to be a dirt road, the tap water and the water in the pool are all unpurified sea water, a bit salty, the whole of the island of Bohol. With a 12-year-old child, there is no extra bed, and 800p per night, which is a bit expensive. Since I go out to play every day, the overall situation is not bad, the environment there is the same. The level of consumption is comparable to that of first-tier cities in China."

"Wonderful place. Peace, quiet, pool, sunset and very good food. And a nice and helpful owner. Julia, thank you. The service ladies are also amazing 👍. By the way, the chicken Gordon Bleu is highly recommended. If you just want to relax for a few days, this is the place for you. Best wishes, Dietmar with Silke Li"

"Originally booked for 2 nights, room 204 As a result, the water pressure is too low to take a bath. After we responded, we were told that it would be repaired. but no improvement Later decided to change to live The service staff over there said that there was a problem with the water pressure in that room, but the manager has been directing customers and it has not improved. I booked about NT$3,000 for one night It turned out that they only refunded me 6,000 pesos talk to them directly Give me back the price for one night"

"Most of the rooms on the first floor overlook the reception, it is uncomfortable to open during the day, you have to sit in the dark Strong audibility, you can hear both cars and conversations, poor soundproofing There was a dog cage next to the room, someone was constantly coming to play, this is unnecessary noise, and the dogs also smelled There are no shelves in the bathroom to put toiletries There is no hot water for some time, in the morning it was not possible to wash The shower is not fenced off, everything is just in water, there is also mold Breakfast is a la carte, they cook for about 40 minutes, a very long time Pros The hotel has bikes for rent The hotel helps with organizing transfers and tours (but with its own commission, if you take it yourself on the side it will be cheaper)"

"The resort is very good overall. However there's a few niggles. Check in took way too long. 2 people serving? When you have a long queue in the heat of the lobby this isn't a great first impression. The lobby on arrival was so busy. When I've checked into other hotels I've usually been impressed with the smoothness of check in. This wasn't a pleasant experience or environment especially if you're traveling with children. We couldn't get a massage. We wanted to confirm the time the next day and they wouldn't give us this option.? The lift? One lift in the main area? For a resort this big and expensive they should have more lifts The stairs at the pool are stony. This will really hurt your feet when you're not expecting it The breakfast is good for Filipinos however for Westerners like myself there should be more choice. Not just bread and egg. The beach is small. You get hassled by people trying to sell you stuff. Protect your belongings. Doesn't feel safe, look out for algae in the water. Not pleasant to swim through. The resort restaurants are very expensive. The lobby isn't air conditioned? Why not make it a pleasure to be in the lobby and serve coffee to guests? Not everyone wants ice tea. We were told to pay 6000php on arrival which luckily we had but we didn't know about this deposit for incidentals ahead of time. The positives are. They gave us umbrellas when we walked outside for the shade. The shower in our room was excellent. The warm water in the pool. And swimming till late is lovely. The staff are very good and attentive and professional. They served us with care and attention and nothing was too much trouble. I got looked after by the nurse at 10pm."

"We had a lovely stay at Modala Beach Resort. The staffs were very accommodating and helpful. The room and the pool was clean. The beach was great, it has fine white sand. I could say the resort is family-friendly. The only down side during our visit was that the beach had very low sea level, we were told that it would have better level during the months of April to June. The beach became a bit swimmable on the afternoon of our second day of stay, so we were able to enjoy the beach. Food served during breakfast was good. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation. Will definitely recommend Modala Beach Resort."

"Fever before travel, worried about new pneumonia, so canceled the trip and did not check in. Because the booking is irrevocable, Ctrip said the hotel refused to refund, and Ctrip unilaterally compensated me 100 yuan (thanks to Ctrip). Incidentally, the other two hotels you booked are also non-cancellable, but after I explained the reasons, I understood and gave me a full refund."

"Guys, this hotel saved our holiday! Since the beaches (sea) are all frankly disappointing on the island, the pool in this hotel seemed to us simply heavenly. It is not made like ordinary pools, it has different levels for lying and relaxing, wonderful gazebos, and most importantly, it is so quiet there and there are only 5 rooms, of which not all are occupied, so there is a complete feeling that you are in your own villa. And it's nice. The room is also excellent as an apartment with a living room and a kitchen. Super"

GGuest UserThe place is fantastic, located right beside Alona Beach with a small road leading directly to the beach. The hotel's food is very nice, and the two swimming pools are great for families. The studio room can accommodate a family of four, and there are many complimentary activities such as kayaking, paddling, and archery. Highly recommended for families. However, there is no lift to the third level, which is not friendly for the elderly.

SSam Le ChiqLocation, excellent Cleanliness overall excellent Swimming pool excellent Miscellaneous services: laundry service, gym, and other helpful services excellent Restaurant. Overall, very good to excellent menu. Suggestion: fresh drip coffee or a fresh espresso machine rather than capsules. Also, vegan/Vegetarian options would be appreciated. There is definitely a market for it. Small suggestion: “Some” staff find it hard to smile. A smile always makes everyone happy, including customers. Overall, staff and management are friendly and professional. Minor maintenance requested for the bathroom during the 10 days I was here was not taken care of. It doesn’t matter what it is. But I did expect it to be taken care of since I stayed here for a while and I mentioned it a couple of times to them. I am sure (or at least hope) they will take care of it eventually though. One thing, though I highly recommend: the shower floor is very slippery. Even with water and no soap it becomes quite slippery. I have to be very careful. It’s a very minor thing to take care of but extremely important because safety is paramount. I had to wear my swimming shoes in the shower to make sure I don’t slip. I didn’t mention it to them on the second day and asked for some solution like a nonslip mat, etc., but they did not provide it. I did appreciate it that they let me stay over an hour extra to finish packing on my last day without extra charge. I’ve been coming to the Philippines for over 10 years. I stayed in many provinces and many hotels. This is the best one by far and is highly recommended. Hopefully they will keep their prices reasonable for future. For the money, I think it’s definitely the best you can get as compared to many other places in the Philippines. I would deduct two or three points only for a couple of things I mentioned above. I would give this hotel a 4.7 out of five stars.

GGuest UserWe stayed at Henann Tawala Hotel for a week upon arriving in Bohol, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is spotlessly clean, living up to its 4-star rating. Upon arrival, the staff were very attentive—our bags were handled, and we were offered breakfast while our early check-in was expedited. One thing to be aware of is the 3,000 pesos per night damage deposit. If paid by credit card, any charges, such as room service or drinks at the swim-up bar, are deducted from it, with the balance refunded after checkout. The breakfast area is beautifully presented, with friendly staff who greet you warmly. After giving your room number and surname, you’re escorted to a table. However, we noticed some inconsistency in service—on some days we were offered coffee or tea, while on others we weren’t. There were also times when water wasn’t provided, so we ended up with double servings after fetching it ourselves. Consistency in service would enhance the experience, but the self-service station for coffee, water, and juices was convenient. Breakfast options were excellent, with plenty of variety to suit all preferences. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. One small issue was being asked to leave a yogurt behind when I tried to take it out of the breakfast area. I understand the rule to prevent excessive takeaway, but I felt a little flexibility could be applied for small items. The rooms at Henann Tawala are impressive—spacious with great bathrooms and lovely balconies. Among the best we’ve stayed in, they’re comparable to high-end hotels like Radisson Blu in Cebu or Seda Ayala Central Block. The reception staff were incredibly helpful. They arranged a reasonably priced van for our trip to Tagbilaran, and the driver was punctual, providing a comfortable ride. He even dropped us off at the right spot for catching a van to Anda at the Dao Bus Terminal. One nice perk of staying here is the short walk to Henann's beachfront property, where you can use the sun loungers shaded by palm trees and enjoy drinks served by the staff. However, you can’t use the pool there, and you need to pick up towels from Henann Tawala before heading to the beach. The beach is beautiful, but there are quite a few hawkers selling tours, which can be a bit of a nuisance. We found better deals on Facebook. The sea is warm, though there’s a fair amount of seaweed. I’d recommend snorkeling to watch your step, as there are starfish and possibly sea urchins. We only swam once. If you buy mangosteen from beach vendors (150-200 pesos), check for ants, as one of our bags was full of them! Just outside the hotel’s main gates, there’s an ATM and a laundry shop that charges around 400 pesos for 5 kg, returning clothes washed, dried, and folded by 5 pm. It’s much cheaper than the hotel’s laundry service. We also tried the Kajun Restaurant nearby, which offers excellent chicken sandwiches, fries, and milkshakes in an American diner style. On the beachfront, our favorite restaurant was the Oasis Resort’s upstairs bar and restaurant, which has a cooling breeze and a great view of the beach. Every dish we tried was fantastic, and we highly recommend it. While our stay at Henann Tawala was wonderful, Panglao itself felt quite touristy. There were many Korean tourists, and a lot of locals trying to sell tours and services, which sometimes felt overwhelming. Prices were higher than we expected, especially for things like tricycles, which cost 150 pesos per person compared to the 12 pesos we paid in the provinces. Restaurant prices were also inflated, and even basic supplies came at a premium. If you prefer a quieter, more authentic experience, I’d recommend visiting somewhere like Anda. It has a more laid-back, provincial vibe, with friendlier locals and a slower pace of life, making it a peaceful alternative to the busy, touristy atmosphere of Panglao.

GGuest UserI had a great 2 nights. The staff's service was really good. I especially appreciate the staff who worked hard to connect my laptop to the wifi. Thanks to them, I was able to finish my work well. Breakfast was not buffet style but individually ordered. As a vegetarian, I was in a difficult situation because I had nothing to eat, but I was really touched that they made a special salad. I will use it again when I visit Bohol next time.

RRené-MarcThe staff were friendly and helpful in explaining what things to see and how to get there. The room was as advertised, the size was correct and as we selected the king bed ocean view, the big balcony was perfect to enjoy the view. We loved the pools. The hotel location is quiet, if you don’t mind the neighbourhood roosters (pretty much everywhere). As the hotel is located a bit far from the town though, they provide a complementary shuttle to get to go to the beach. Of you want more freedom and as a tuk tuk ride cost around 200P one way, we would recommend renting a scooter to go around. We rented one at the hotel (Suzuki Bugman street) for 400P, it’s 50P more than what you could get in town, but it’s convenient. The scooter carried both of us to the chocolate hills, and all other places we wanted to see. The breakfasts were pretty straightforward with three choices, Filipino Tosilog (more a grilled porc), a continental that was my choice after trying the tosilog, and an Asian one, my partner tried the dumpling and well this was a real disappointment. There is one thing I really didn’t liked is that the coffee isn’t brewed, then if you want a small cup of brewed is 150P and the juice is additional charge of 190P. All hotel everywhere have brewed coffee and juice included with breakfast. Something I told the hotel’s owner. Would we recommend that hotel? Definitely yes, for the room, the view, the staff.

Ggibo_27We booked a two-night stay and overall it was good. Location is one kilometer away from the beach center. You can ride a tricycle to the center for P100. It is just along the road and it is situated within a commercial center where there is a cafe, convenience store, restaurants and clinic. Amenities are good. Since this is a new hotel, the furnitures and appliances are new and in good condition. Water pressure is great, shower heater is working perfectly. Private javuzzi is a plus. The bfast buffet is actually more of chinese cuisine and not of wide variety but just enough for the price. There is a big television but the channels and movies available are chinese. Overall, still a good experience. It is peaceful and quiet in the resort and you can enjoy the pool area specially if there are few guests.

AAllanMy wife and I recently enjoyed a delightful stay at Katchajo Inn from January 1 to 4, and we found our experience to be quite enjoyable. The inn's proximity to the beach and the center, combined with its charming and clean facilities, made for a pleasant and convenient retreat. During our stay, we were pleased to find that the service at Katchajo Inn was warm and attentive. The hospitable nature of the staff added a personal touch to our visit, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our time at the inn. The availability of free Wi-Fi was a convenient feature, allowing us to stay connected and make the most of our time in the area. Additionally, the presence of a mini-swimming pool provided a refreshing option for relaxation, adding to the overall appeal of the inn. While the food was satisfactory, it was the inn's cleanliness and charming atmosphere that left a lasting impression. The reasonable pricing, in combination with the clean and cute ambiance, made for a comfortable and pleasant stay. One minor area for improvement would be the towels, which, while clean, showed signs of aging. However, this was a small detail in an otherwise enjoyable experience. In conclusion, Katchajo Inn provided a welcoming and convenient base for our beachside getaway. With its clean and charming accommodations, hospitable service, and added amenities such as free Wi-Fi and a mini-swimming pool, we found it to be a delightful choice for couples seeking a relaxing and well-located retreat. We would recommend Katchajo Inn to others looking for a cozy and convenient stay near the beach.

GGuest UserOur stay was okay but it could’ve been improved a lot by some minor adjustments. We were disappointed to find there was no kettle or tea/coffee supplies in the room which we believe should come as standard, especially in a resort. Also, bottled water is only provided on check in and not daily which we were disappointed with also. There were no Sun loungers around the pool like the photos depicted on Trip app. Very limited loungers on the beach front so they were never available. Breakfast was disappointing as there was no bread or fruit, and when bread was requested for myself who does not eat meat and dislikes eggs, there was no butter. I’ve never heard of a restaurant not having butter! There were very limited options, and you were rationed to only have 1 sausage and 1 egg as it was an assisted buffet. There was rice also but nothing to go with it. Also no tea bags available, only coffee. No laundry or scooter rental service which would’ve made our stay a lot more convenient, and no assistance to help find these services when asked if they provided them. Limited plug sockets in the room made it difficult to use our devices and charge them concurrently. There was no shower gel, only a small bar of soap but shower gel is preferable. Water dispensers to fill our own bottles would’ve been nice considering no bottled water provided on days other than check in day. All in all a disappointing stay. Aside from the nice beach, the location was also quite inconvenient as we hadn’t realise there were no other options of shops and restaurants available other than the resort itself.

Ccharlene maePros: -Beautiful swimming pool w/lifeguard -clean room -Gugma Restaurant serves delicious food -friendly staff except for that one female front desk in the morning as well as the no show manager Cons: -Misleading Information and must be updated! The ad shows that the hotel has all the amenities that we looked for are wifi/wired internet in the rooms, swimming pool and few steps from the beach but it's not. We checked in late at night and the location is far from the beach, wifi is available at their Gazebo or lobby area with mosquitos. -There are 2 different hotel branches, one is few steps from Alona beach proper with wifi in the rooms but no pool and the other one is their 2nd newer branch which is 1 tuktuk ride away from Alona beach proper no wifi in the rooms, wired internet isn't working but with swimming pool. -I was upfront to the hotelier that I travel for work and measure and need all those amenities that were stated on the website, but the remedy they kept insisting is to move us to their other branch which is older, no pool with wifi in the room as they do not have the wifi nor wired internet in their room at their 2nd hotel and that we can just go their in the morning to use their pool 🤣 -No one from the hotel apologize, not even a Manager's shadow reachout -Trip.com said sorry and provide compensation but it's not enough for the lost working hours due to the mosquito bites I had while I tried to work at the lobby but was not able to tolerate it as I am afraid of having Dengue, did not get anything from the hotel's management -tricycle/tuktuk will cost you 100 pesos per way PRICEY -we tried to walk to the beach as there is another route close to the 2nd hotel but the way is rocky and stairs were steep as it was meant for divers or island Hopper not the white strip that were posted on the website -corkage fee so better to buy at the restaurant at the hotel or eat outside **AGAIN THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT HOTEL BRANCH WITH DIFFERENT ADDRESSES AND AMENITIES, SO BE CAREFUL IN BOOKING ESPECIALLY IF YOU TRAVEL FOR WORK AND NEEDS WIFI IN THE ROOM.
