"Stayed for 3 days and was a bit far from Alona Beach, but fortunately there was a free shuttle bus at the hotel. The interior of the hotel is beautiful, the facilities are very new, and the complimentary breakfast is not bad. But the hotel is surrounded by villages, dirty and messy, the road to the hotel turned out to be a dirt road, the tap water and the water in the pool are all unpurified sea water, a bit salty, the whole of the island of Bohol. With a 12-year-old child, there is no extra bed, and 800p per night, which is a bit expensive. Since I go out to play every day, the overall situation is not bad, the environment there is the same. The level of consumption is comparable to that of first-tier cities in China."
"Wonderful place. Peace, quiet, pool, sunset and very good food. And a nice and helpful owner. Julia, thank you.
The service ladies are also amazing 👍.
By the way, the chicken Gordon Bleu is highly recommended. If you just want to relax for a few days, this is the place for you. Best wishes, Dietmar with Silke

"I would give all 5 stars if not for one small and very annoying circumstance:
We asked to take our things to dry cleaning, but the hotel didn’t have one and the administrator took the things to another place - the things came back spoiled, with stains that now cannot be washed off. I’m even glad that some of the shorts from the general set of clothes were not washed; at least they were not additionally soiled. And the cost of dry cleaning turned out to be much more expensive than originally stated.
Overall, the hotel is wonderful, the owner answered our questions with pleasure and was always open to conversation. The staff is top notch.
The hotel is small with cool rooms. I would especially like to note the design of the rooms - done with taste! It's nice to be in them. No living creatures or insects were found in the rooms. A few scout ants don't count)))
From the hotel to the main shopping and restaurant street it takes 10 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by transport for 100 pesos. The beach is still a 5-minute walk away.
A big unexpected plus is the presence of various board games and a place where you can spend time with a group by the pool. By the way, the pool is clean and comfortable.
I recommend it to everyone who comes to visit the sights of Panglao and Bohol. This is not for those who want to lounge on the beach. Except by the pool.
Breakfast - a choice of several options (Filipino, American, pancakes, porridge, etc.) - all tasty and satisfying.
Thanks again for the warm welcome! The hotel is definitely worth the money!"

"Goods:
- Very nice and homey design of rooms.
- Lots of plants and trees and well-lit at night.
- Nice location. Quick access on the main road and beachfront area.
- Tight security, public utility vehicles like tricycles are being keep tracked in and out of the resort.
Bads:
- Breakfast buffet is okay and not a lot of options. They only serve food for Western and no Filipino dish like danggit, longganisa is served.
- Not so strong water in the shower but at least they have a heater.
- No dental toiletries provided."
"It was fantastic Vacation ever. Front desk Kevin was amazing from Arrival until departure. He was very kind and efficient. It was nice welcome. The restaurant staffs all were great. Breakfast, beach snack and dinner. They are kind and provide best service. Beach safety guards and security(Julio, if i remember correctly) very kind and help single traveler request very well. Thanks for my departure transportation driver. Every staffs with busy operation, they keep smile on face. I have a best vacation under the sun and beautiful beach with South Palm resort! I will definately will be back soon.

"We recently stayed at Azul de Panglao with our family of five, and it was a fantastic experience! Here's why we highly recommend this hotel:
Outstanding Service: From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay.
Spacious and Comfortable Rooms: Our room was very spacious, featuring three big beds which comfortably fit our family. The room was clean and well-maintained, providing a cozy environment for relaxation after a day of exploring.
Great Value for Money: Compared to other hotels in the area, Azul de Panglao offers great value for money. The price is significantly cheaper while still providing excellent amenities and service.
Complimentary Breakfast and More: We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast of bread and butter every morning, which was a nice touch. Additionally, free water was available anytime, and they even provided bananas, which the kids loved.
Nice Amenities: The hotel boasts a nice shower with ample toiletries and towels provided. The pool was a big hit with our children and a perfect spot for a refreshing dip.
Convenient Location: Azul de Panglao is conveniently located just a short tricycle ride away from Alona Beach, probably around 1 km. This made it easy for us to enjoy the beach and nearby restaurants without any hassle.
Overall, Azul de Panglao exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend it for families looking for a budget-friendly, comfortable, and hospitable place to stay in Panglao. We will definitely be back!"
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities were incredible. It's also kid-friendly, which we appreciated. However, the hotel is quite far from the beach, so it's not recommended if you're traveling with seniors. The food was a bit expensive, but we had a great time enjoying drinks by the pool area."

Great
GGuest UserI came here for white sand beach. But in fact beach is so dirty... during 5 days I've been here all days were so many seaweed and plastic in the water. One day I even couldn't swim. Snorkeling is poor as well.
Hotel is clean and nice. But there some things, I didn't like.
1. No shower at the beach.
2. Security doesn't do anything with annoying sellers at the beach. Literally every 3-5 minutes I was distracted by locals selling something. I came here for peace and calm. This is annoying so much
3. I asked at the reception can I take phone and pocket to the beach, they said NOOOO it's not safe. Keep all your things with you. How can I relax in such environment? What exactly security do there then?
4. The price for this hotel equal to Marriott, but quality is not the same. I feel economy through everything. Very thin toilet paper. Diluted soup in washroom. And breakfast ... First time in my life I saw cheese cold cuts size 2×2 centimeters. Literally. I paid a lot for this hotel and don't want feel economy vibe.
5. Evening buffet doesn't work everyday. Yeah, it cost not much... but anyway meat there was with bones or soooo hard to chew. Again this economy vibe🙄 was it hard to take a normal meat? Not the cheapest one
6. Check out at 11 am.... what? I've been at 25 countries and hundreds hotels. This is first time check out so early. I asked for late check out and what they gave me is 1 hour more. So basically just a normal check out time. Insane
7. The quality of drinking water is very bad.
8. Ice for drinks probably made from tap water. It's too bad.
9. I feel pressure from sign near elevators. ”Using the stair promotes good health”. I've got a knee injury, I can't use stairs. Didn't I pay enough to use elevator? Or again you wanna save some electricity? Why to put this sign? Again this economy vibe...
So faithful for this place is 6.5/10
But any sense to come here? Beach is so dirty...
GGuest UserHenann Tawala is a good choice in terms of location, service and food. However, the beach-front pools have been made exclusive to Henann Alona guests. It's a shame, it would have been a nice, relaxing alternative to watch the sunset, and listen to the band while sipping piña colada, since beach-front daybeds get collected and packed up at 6p.m. so if you want sunsets and live music, make sure to find your spot early on the sand since a LOT of people are gonna be there, it is a public beach after all.
GGuest UserThe place is fantastic, located right beside Alona Beach with a small road leading directly to the beach. The hotel's food is very nice, and the two swimming pools are great for families.
The studio room can accommodate a family of four, and there are many complimentary activities such as kayaking, paddling, and archery. Highly recommended for families.
However, there is no lift to the third level, which is not friendly for the elderly.
GGuest UserA very good place to stay with good parking area.
The property has a gym, a pingpong table, bar, restaurant, swimming pool, mini collection of books that you can borrow and an elevator.
I enjoy my stay here.
JJesse AcasoI'm in love with this resort. Really had a wonderful experience. 5 stars for the customer service of the staff, also the interior design and the amenities. Additional since my deluxe room was not yet ready the receptionist upgraded my room, I'm super thankful! They exceeded my expectations. Some hotels would let you wait more than hours and no compensation on the long wait. Kudos to the team! Oh I almost forgot to mention they have Free shuttle service if you want to explore the place near Alona beach.
FFlor SimangcasHad a wonderful stay at Hotel Begonia for 6 nights and 5 days. The room was simply elegant, comfortable and clean and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating making us feel right at home. Buffet breakfast was delicious with a variety of options to choose from Asian and Filipino foods. I love the free tote bag. Thank you so much Hotel Begonia❤️
I would highly recommend Begonia Hotel for my family and friend. Definitely stay here again…❤️❤️❤️
VVenus ❤️I went to Bohol on a Solo trip. I booked this hotel because it’s the only available beachfront hotel at the time i booked. I find the Facility good when checking photos. When i finally came to Bohol, everyone is friendly! The staffs from this Hotel’s restaurant which is located a few meters away from their hotel, approached me already. They have a bar and there’s a live band. They are just beside the public massage area so i took a massage while drinking while listening to the band. And the most special thing for me is the beach. It really surprised me that Bohol has really many good beaches. It was just sad that i wanted to extend my stay with them but it’s fully booked. Plan your trip ahead of time and book right away. Their food and drinks is not expensive. 😉
GGuest UserOur stay was okay but it could’ve been improved a lot by some minor adjustments. We were disappointed to find there was no kettle or tea/coffee supplies in the room which we believe should come as standard, especially in a resort. Also, bottled water is only provided on check in and not daily which we were disappointed with also. There were no Sun loungers around the pool like the photos depicted on Trip app. Very limited loungers on the beach front so they were never available. Breakfast was disappointing as there was no bread or fruit, and when bread was requested for myself who does not eat meat and dislikes eggs, there was no butter. I’ve never heard of a restaurant not having butter! There were very limited options, and you were rationed to only have 1 sausage and 1 egg as it was an assisted buffet. There was rice also but nothing to go with it. Also no tea bags available, only coffee. No laundry or scooter rental service which would’ve made our stay a lot more convenient, and no assistance to help find these services when asked if they provided them. Limited plug sockets in the room made it difficult to use our devices and charge them concurrently. There was no shower gel, only a small bar of soap but shower gel is preferable. Water dispensers to fill our own bottles would’ve been nice considering no bottled water provided on days other than check in day. All in all a disappointing stay. Aside from the nice beach, the location was also quite inconvenient as we hadn’t realise there were no other options of shops and restaurants available other than the resort itself.
Ccharlene maePros:
-Beautiful swimming pool w/lifeguard
-clean room
-Gugma Restaurant serves delicious food
-friendly staff except for that one female front desk in the morning as well as the no show manager
Cons:
-Misleading Information and must be updated! The ad shows that the hotel has all the amenities that we looked for are wifi/wired internet in the rooms, swimming pool and few steps from the beach but it's not. We checked in late at night and the location is far from the beach, wifi is available at their Gazebo or lobby area with mosquitos.
-There are 2 different hotel branches, one is few steps from Alona beach proper with wifi in the rooms but no pool and the other one is their 2nd newer branch which is 1 tuktuk ride away from Alona beach proper no wifi in the rooms, wired internet isn't working but with swimming pool.
-I was upfront to the hotelier that I travel for work and measure and need all those amenities that were stated on the website, but the remedy they kept insisting is to move us to their other branch which is older, no pool with wifi in the room as they do not have the wifi nor wired internet in their room at their 2nd hotel and that we can just go their in the morning to use their pool 🤣
-No one from the hotel apologize, not even a Manager's shadow reachout
-Trip.com said sorry and provide compensation but it's not enough for the lost working hours due to the mosquito bites I had while I tried to work at the lobby but was not able to tolerate it as I am afraid of having Dengue, did not get anything from the hotel's management
-tricycle/tuktuk will cost you 100 pesos per way PRICEY
-we tried to walk to the beach as there is another route close to the 2nd hotel but the way is rocky and stairs were steep as it was meant for divers or island Hopper not the white strip that were posted on the website
-corkage fee so better to buy at the restaurant at the hotel or eat outside
**AGAIN THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT HOTEL BRANCH WITH DIFFERENT ADDRESSES AND AMENITIES, SO BE CAREFUL IN BOOKING ESPECIALLY IF YOU TRAVEL FOR WORK AND NEEDS WIFI IN THE ROOM.
EEKATERINASkyThe hotel is large, but everything looks like it is being renovated, the furnishings are not new. The staff is responsive, they offered tea, coffee, showed where to get it. It is far from Alon, but there was nothing to choose from.
