With a stay at Madison Capital Executive Apartments, you'll be centrally located in Canberra, a short 9-minute walk from Canberra Centre and 11 minutes by foot from Australian National University. "Overall, our stay at Madison Apartments was pleasant once we finally got into the room. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed — from toiletries to kitchen essentials. The A/C wasn’t working properly at the time, but it wasn’t a big issue since the weather was cool. However, the check-in process was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I had called ahead to ask if we could check in just 30 minutes early as I wasn’t feeling well and needed to rest. Upon arriving around 1:35 pm, we were told the room wasn’t ready, which I completely understood since the official check-in time was 2 pm. But when we came back at 2:40 pm, the room was ”still not ready”. The receptionist asked us to wait another 30 minutes to an hour — we ended up waiting until almost 3:30 pm, and it was still not prepared. It was honestly a terrible start to our stay — being sick, exhausted, and having nowhere to rest while continuously being told “just a little longer.” The receptionist was kind and apologetic, but it was clear she wasn’t getting any real updates from housekeeping. It felt disorganised and unprofessional for an apartment of this standard. Breakfast was another letdown for $25 per person — very basic, with no hot food. Just bread, cereal, fruit in syrup, and some bakery items. The pancakes were the only saving grace. Coffee mix wasn’t good either. Once inside, though, the apartment itself made up for it — spacious, comfortable, and had everything you could need. It’s a nice place overall, but the check-in process seriously needs improvement."

"Service was above standards, shared facilities were well maintained, the room was clean and sufficient. Bit of a struggle with no A/C however the fan provided in the room helped out with that problem, (you get what you pay for). Very sufficient for short stays. We booked very last minute and were still met with happy staff with a room card and spare cards ready for us to take with simple instructions to get to our room."

"A by Adina Canberra is a perfectly executed urban sanctuary in the city's core. Its stunning, award-winning architectural design by Bates Smart feels both grand and intimate, immediately setting a sophisticated loft-like tone. The apartments are a masterclass in smart, stylish living. The open-plan layout maximizes space, and the thoughtful inclusions—from the superb Dreamcatcher beds and quality Hunter Lab bath amenities to the in-room laundry and full kitchen—create a true home-away-from-home. The inclusion of a coffee machine with pods is a game-changer for a perfect morning. Location is its superpower. Positioned at the Constitution Place precinct, you're not just in the city—you're at its vibrant epicenter. The hotel is embedded within a gourmet laneway, meaning world-class coffee (Redbrick Coffee) and dining (like The Meat & Wine Co.) are literally at your doorstep. For an elevated experience, the ”Destination A” upgrade is worth considering for its prime views, minibar credit, and exclusive perks. Note there is a $20 nightly fee for the convenient underground parking, and some rooms may have a view of ongoing adjacent construction (it's wise to request a room facing inward). Service is consistently attentive, rounding out an experience that seamlessly blends hotel luxury with apartment freedom. It’s an exceptional choice for discerning travelers who value design, location, and independence."

"Breakfast > could deal with more options. Coffee was good though. The parking situation (pay $30 for parking, yet for it to be “first come first serve” is so incredibly frustrating. Hotel lounge area has a fun politics theme, so I did enjoy that (being the nerd I am). The location isn’t the best, heaps of roadworks, pretty baron, you need a car or uber to get around. Staff were friendly."

"Anything that could go wrong did go wrong!!! For a disabled room there was no power point near the bed. The only available power point in the room was in the bathroom. The air conditioning was manually powered and was positioned above the window so anyone in a wheelchair or that was short could not reach it. The only place to hang up your clothes was on the back of the bathroom door. The bathroom was quite large but when I went to put the towel on the hanger it came apart!!!! And the top of the toilet was broken. Then I opened the fridge and it looked like a soda can had exploded and nobody had cleaned it. When I informed the staff member he was very lovely, he came in and cleaned the fridge, gave me a power board and extension cord for the bed which did help. But then in the morning the young staff member on took an hour and half to bring a toasted sandwich to my room after saying it would only be 10mins. He had clearly forgotten about it. So after such a bad experience I asked for my money back!!!!"

"We checked in at 2pm but didn’t enter our room until around 4pm. My 3-year-old son and I opened the door to find a middle-aged man **************** inside the room. Reception later admitted they had issued us the wrong key. This is not a “mistake” — it is a serious failure in safety procedures and room-key management. A child being exposed to a ***** stranger is unacceptable. The hotel’s response was a complimentary breakfast, followed by a refund of a minibar Apple juice and parking at checkout, which does not come close to addressing the seriousness of the incident. A pre-requested cot also never arrived and had to be collected by my husband ourselves, highlighting further operational issues. The location is excellent, but due to the lack of basic safety and professional handling of this incident, we will not be staying here again."

"1. The location is great, right in the heart of Canberra city center, near Canberra Centre, making it convenient for both shopping and dining. There's a bus stop right downstairs, though it's a bit of a walk to the light rail station. 2. They offer triple rooms, which are perfect for families of three, and the price is reasonable. The per-person cost is quite acceptable for Australia. 3. The room was pretty clean, and the soundproofing was excellent, making it very quiet. 4. The front desk service was decent; they were willing to help with any issues. We were even allowed to check in early, before the official check-in time. However, you'll need some English proficiency, and occasionally the front desk staff isn't present. 5. The facilities are quite comprehensive, including a kitchen area and a fridge. But since the hotel has been open for a while, some of the in-room amenities show signs of age. 6. The windows don't open. 7. Slippers and toothbrushes aren't provided, and the shower gel and shampoo had a rather odd scent. 8. The duvet situation was still very strange: it's the kind where two sheets sandwich the duvet insert, which seems to be a common feature in Australian hotels."

GGuest UserKinda old worldish but not too bad.Biggest pain was the fire alarm which went off on a freezing winter morning about 7:30 am.. This by all accounts is a regular occurrence and not rectified; set off apparently by some guy smoking; 20 minutes of ******** announcements before we found out from another traveler that it was a false alarm.  Management kinda smiked sheepishlyand did bugger all. Bathroom in our room was tiny and toiletries had to be collected from the front desk. 🙄 Had to lug suitcases up and downnstairs and at the front entrance. Kinda lame. Guy working the dining room though on the breakfast shift was a bit of a diamond. After an ‘odd’ comment he myst have noticed I was unimpressed with the fire alarm ******** and went out of his way. A bottle of birthday bubbly was a classy touch by him. I’d stay there again because of him.

GGuest UserWe recently stayed at the Canberra Rex Hotel as a family of three, traveling from Sydney to celebrate the New Year. While there were some positive aspects, our overall experience was disappointing. Starting with the positives, the reception staff were very nice and courteous, which we appreciated. We liked that it is very near a light rail station and quite close to parks, restaurants, and cafes. The layout of the hotel posed challenges. Our room was quite far from the lifts, and with only two lifts positioned side by side in a corner of the building, accessibility was inconvenient. It seems the hotel design is to blame, as the lifts are not centrally located like in most hotels. One of the biggest letdowns was the pool. We specifically chose this hotel for its pool, hoping our little one could enjoy it. Unfortunately, the pool heater was not working, and the water was freezing cold. To make matters worse, we noticed some bugs in the pool, which was unsettling. The staff wouldn’t have known the heater wasn’t working if we hadn’t informed them. It felt like the pool's maintenance and condition were overlooked, which was a major disappointment for us. Had we known that we won't be able to enjoy the pool, we would've settled in a hotel that is far more affordable. As compensation for the pool issue, we requested and were granted a late check-out, which was a kind gesture from the hotel. However, it didn’t feel adequate given the inconvenience and disappointment we experienced. Additionally, the King Suite we stayed in had some practical flaws. It only had one bin, which was insufficient for a family of three, as it filled up quickly. Another inconvenience was the shower area, which didn’t have any shelves. This meant we had to place shampoo and conditioner bottles on the floor while showering, which was far from ideal. Overall, while the reception staff’s service was commendable, the hotel fell short in terms of facilities and maintenance. I hope the management takes these points into consideration for future guests.

MMIKUSAMAtianxiadiyiThis hotel is said to be where heads of state stay when they visit, so it's no surprise the environment is outstanding. The scenery is beautiful, and there are even rabbits in the backyard. The hotel itself is a bit like a maze, and it's easy to get lost. It's not far from any of the attractions, and parking is convenient. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserDisappointing, I participated in the National AGM of the largest association in the world and the hotel ran out of one of the most popular tap beer and white wine, just one hour after the guests checked-in/arrived. The hotel advertised 1 hour happy hour every day but the Op Manager staff the bar with only one bartender. Guests lining up for half hour to get the happy hour deal, to be told, ”sorry, the 'happy hour' is finished. The AGM room lighting set up absolutely poor, hard to see and hear anyone, the committee having to re-organise the room. If it wasn't for the every day cleaning the room and the breakfast service, I would have ranked the hotel less than 3 stars, at @ 279/night. I have stayed at other properties in Canberra, such as Kurajong Hotel, for less money but for exceptional experience.

AAlijon02Overall, the hotel is good and comfortable. The room was clean, and the location was very convenient. However, I was a bit surprised that there was no toothbrush or toothpaste provided in the room. For a hotel of this size and standard, I believe these basic amenities should be included. In addition, there was no bathrobe or loungewear/pajamas available for use inside the room. Having these items would definitely improve guest comfort and enhance the overall experience. In general, it was a pleasant stay, but adding these small details would make the service even better.

GGuest UserWe can hear people next door talking as we were arranged to stay at a connecting room. The door crack is so wide that we can hear people next door talking which gives a sense of insecurity. It is suggested that the door crack should be fixed, for the privacy of people staying at the two rooms who do not know each other.
