"I came here for a career fair, and needed somewhere cheap to stay overnight so I can my bus back to Sydney the next day. I found Little Drifter the perfect location for my stay, and the price is right. Upon check-in I was given a URL to a webpage where I can remotely open the room I was assigned. not super ideal since if my phone died, I can't access my room. Nevertheless, I paid $8 for a rental towel and got to room where I had the whole room to myself. I initially thought that I had roommates because the other beds were still messy as the cleaners didn't clean them up, but my bed was cleaned. The washrooms were clean, but I had a problem with the hot water from the shower where it would periodically run out and blast cold water on me, then it would slowly get hot again. This happened to me for my whole stay which was quite annoying since I had to constantly adjust the water temp and move myself away from the freezing water. Otherwise, I had a fantastic stay and would happily stay here again upon my next visit."

"This hotel used to be a dormitory for Australian National University, so the upside is it's cheap. The downsides are small rooms without private bathrooms, though each room does have its own sink. There's no air conditioning, only a fan, but they do have heating in winter. Also, the soundproofing is pretty bad. After booking, they kept sending frequent emails and texts for online check-in, which honestly wasn't necessary at all. Check-in was super quick in person, and they didn't even ask for a bank card or deposit. However, the online check-in requires you to enter bank card information. To avoid phishing risks, I generally don't input my card details on untrustworthy websites, but if you don't complete the online process, they'll keep sending you messages, which is quite annoying. Also, the front desk has short operating hours, closing at 7:30 PM on weekdays and apparently at 3 PM on weekends. I arrived a bit late, and the door was locked, so I had to call the front desk to open it. Then, in the middle of the night, their system sent out messages about online check-out. I thought returning the key was all there was to it? More messages, this system is truly irritating. The fact is, the front desk isn't even open before 7 or 8 AM, so you just drop your key card in a box for check-out – it's that simple. However, I think it's quite good for a temporary stay of a few nights, but I only recommend it if you're okay with not having a private bathroom. If you need a room with a bathroom, the value for money isn't as good as other hotels. As for location, it's pretty much in the city center, about a 10-minute walk to the main downtown area, and there's a light rail station right downstairs. So, overall, I'd still give it a good review. On a side note, the front desk staff was quite friendly when I was there, even though it took a little while for them to come and open the door after I called (mainly because I really didn't expect the front desk to close at 7:30 PM)."

"Great location, great service, clean and comfortable. Obviously market is for group bookings.. only negative is no soap or shampoo /conditioner in showers. Was a soap dispenser at sink outside toilet, but nothing in bathroom. Rooms with bunks which was fine, but none of the beds on top were made, daughter ”had” to sleep on top bunk, so had to make one up. No TV in room. Would definitely stay again, just need to pack supplies."

"Good hotel with decent amenities and an excellent location, but the staff experience was extremely disappointing. We were travelling with a young child and requested a late checkout. They informed us it would be $30 to extend beyond 10 AM, so we agreed. We checked out at 11:45 AM, only to find they had charged $60, which felt unreasonable and misleading. On top of that, housekeeping knocked 3-4 times, and their behaviour was shockingly rude. One staff member even said, “You have 2 minutes, just get out in 2 minutes,” which was completely unprofessional. I’ve stayed in many hotels and have never encountered staff speaking or behaving like this. 0/5 for staff behaviour. If you care about service, I strongly recommend choosing a more reputable hotel. If you’re on a tight budget and only want to stay near Parliament and don’t mind compromising on service, then this place might work - but be prepared for poor staff interactions."

"Not that clean. It's ok. TV doesn't connect even though it has an option to. Staff leave early and no phones to call reception. I didn't get a WiFi password I had to ask the lady next door because reception closed right after I checked in. It's not too bad. All I needed was a bed and a bathroom but I can't say it was clean. It was just tidy, at least the sheets were clean. Carpet was definitely not. Also, blinds in bathroom are broken."

"I stayed at the Ibis Budget Canberra. It's a bit far from the city center, but easily accessible by car or bus, and the affordable price is a big plus. The room, though compact, was clean and perfectly adequate for a short stay. The staff were friendly, and check-in was smooth. There are restaurants and a supermarket nearby, making it easy to pick up anything you need. I'd especially recommend it for backpackers, student travelers, or solo travelers looking to save on accommodation costs. It's a convenient base for exploring Canberra and I felt it offered great value for money. I would definitely consider staying here again if I have the chance."

"This hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by a big supermarket, all three-story apartments, no elevator, the first floor is the dining room kitchen and living room, the second floor is the bedroom, parking is free, it is not very friendly for families with large suitcases, it is best to choose the first floor"
