"The hotel is beautiful. Amazing room and no hassle with check-in and check-out. The room I initially had was on a lower floor and unfortunately I could hear the person above me walking and that was disturbing. The hotel wasted no minutes to move me to an upper room when I reached out to them, so 10/10. The bath, room and bedding were amazing.
Few issues:
1)There is not enough lighting in the room, and at night, it’s difficult if you need to do something and require lights. There are only nightstands, no main light. The windows are small. See picture.
2) For the price I paid, I was expecting a decent breakfast. The breakfast provided was insulting. Cold croissants, chocolate blueberry and lemon muffins, instant oat, hot water, coffee and juice, banana, apple. For the price you pay per night, you will at least expect some hot food. Even one to two-stars motels in Canada provide toast, butter, and eggs. There was not even toast, or milk! You need to use numerous small milk pods to make your oats or coffee, which is a plastic waste. That was disappointing and I understand the hotel wants to save expenses and be more profitable, but I guess it’s business.
3) There is no gym, not even a treadmill.
4) The escalator does not go to the fourth floor, but no big deal.
In saying so, the hotel is located in downtown, where all food places and bars are, so location wise it’s a win.
If you do not have to stay in downtown, and want a hotel with amenities, there are better options in St John’s. One recommendation would be I H G ones."
