"Booking was smooth, and the early bird discount certainly helped, otherwise, the inflated prices for May Day would have been a deterrent.
The location is excellent; I've never stayed in this area before, near the Haihe River and Tianjin Eye. It's close to the Wanghailou Church ⛪️, a few great local restaurants, and within walking distance of the general education exhibition area of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, which made this holiday truly beautiful!
The room has character. Relaxing on the sofa in the living room with a hand-drawn map and a Sprite, it was a space that lifted my spirits.
The toilet flushing sound was the only minor drawback. The massive TV screen can swivel 180°, and I enjoyed over nine hours of peaceful sleep. The sink faucet requires you to bend down to reach it – a puzzling design choice, as in many hotels 🤔… The hotel readily agreed to an extended stay, which made planning my sightseeing much easier.
The breakfast restaurant rarely had a wait, and the table spacing was excellent! The watermelon 🍉 was delicious, and the cookies 🍪 were seriously good."

"This is my second stay here. The price is great and the hygiene facilities are excellent. I arrived quite late, but Hillary Wang Bin at the front desk was so welcoming and efficient, quickly helping us check in and showing us to the elevator for our room. When I came down to wait for my laundry after waking up, she thoughtfully asked if I wanted some water. The service is truly exceptional!"

"Let's start with the positives:
1: The hotel's location is quite good. It's about a 15-minute walk to the Ferris wheel and 10 minutes to the Ancient Culture Street pier.
2: The soundproofing in the room is decent, and the shower pressure is excellent.
3: The overall service is acceptable, and breakfast offers a good variety.
However, the downsides are also very apparent:
1: The room type names are incredibly misleading. I specifically chose the 'Flowing River View Twin Room' but ended up with what felt more like a 'River Canal Prison View Room.' If this is the view, they really shouldn't use 'Haihe River View' in the name; it's too deceptive for consumers. If this view were a free upgrade, I wouldn't complain, but paying for it made me feel like I was getting ripped off.
2: The facilities and equipment are outdated. The power outlets by the bed are few and loose; I had to use some mechanical ingenuity to keep plugs from falling out, and half my devices had to be charged by the kettle. The hairdryer in the bathroom felt like something from ten years ago—heavy as a dumbbell, but the air it produced was as gentle as a natural breeze, barely effective. If they can't afford a Dyson, surely they can at least get a domestic brand like Refa?
Overall, the experience was very mediocre. If it were a 500-yuan business trip, I could accept it, but for a vacation, I'm truly disappointed and won't choose this hotel again."

"This hotel, a former five-star establishment, retains facilities from over a decade ago. While the TV is quite outdated and unclear, the rest of the amenities are excellent, reflecting true five-star quality, especially the magnificent five-star night view. The location is superb; you won't find a hotel closer to the Tianjin Eye. Step out and you're right by the Ferris wheel, Yongle Wharf, and a sightseeing bus stop, making night boat tours incredibly convenient. Behind the hotel is Dabeiyuan Temple, and Wanghai Church, Jingang Bridge, and Shilin Bridge are also very close. A bike ride to Ancient Culture Street takes only six or seven minutes, then another 20 minutes to Century Clock, and a further 15 minutes to the Italian Style Area. It's definitely worth it for the Haihe River night view, offering incredible value for money. Breakfast offers a wide variety, with Western pastries and coffee beans being particularly good. There's a lively night market right outside, though I heard it's not great, so I didn't go. In the evenings, there are many street performers around, which can be a bit noisy. If you're a light sleeper, avoid the river view and Ferris wheel rooms."

The hotel's location is excellent, just across the road from Xibeijiao, and right next to Lujiazui Mall and Shuishang City Shopping Mall."

"Before checking in, I specifically looked up the location because I was traveling with elderly family and children, and wanted to be close to attractions. The hotel's back door leads right to a riverside promenade, which I highly recommend for a walk or a jog. We also managed to catch the champagne uncorking in the lobby at 6:30 PM, which was a fun experience. Across the street is a pedestrian street with Zhang Yuan (a spot featured in the TV show 'Lurk'), which I suggest checking out. Plus, we got to stay in a room with a super king-sized bed (2.6m!), and they even provided complimentary evening desserts. It was truly a great experience."

The hotel's overall environment is elegant and clean; both the common areas and the rooms are meticulously maintained, and the facilities are in great condition, making for a very comfortable stay. I have to give a special shout-out to Sweet at the front desk. Her service was warm and professional, check-in was incredibly fast, and she was patient and thorough throughout. "The location is excellent. You are about 5 minutes walk from the Five Great Avenues, and the subway is just outside the building, although on the other side, and the bus stop is just across the street.
The check in is also contactless. All the information you need will be given online(through WeChat for me since I've been using it). Probably the easiest check in you will find in China.
The room was very clean. I've heard the view was great but I only got a view of the opposite building, so I guess it depends on your luck. Nevertheless, all the things you need will be there, including a fridge and washing machine. Not to mention a mall is right below you, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores.
For the cleaning, someone will come around noon and the owner will text you about it beforehand."

TTulang2005What satisfied me most about this trip to Yangliuqing Ancient Town was staying in this blue brick courtyard B&B. As soon as I stepped in, the antique atmosphere hit me in the face. The blue bricks and black tiles, carved doors and windows, are full of historical charm, which immediately brought me back to the old times.
There are surprises hidden everywhere inside the room. The bed is soft and comfortable, and the bedding is clean and tidy, allowing me to have a good sleep after a busy day. The interior decoration is simple yet elegant, with a perfect blend of traditional and modern elements. It is fully equipped with air conditioning, smart bathroom and other facilities, allowing guests to enjoy the quaint atmosphere while maintaining the convenience of life.
The public area of the homestay is also very cozy. There are tables and chairs in the courtyard of the quadrangle. In your spare time, you can bask in the sun, drink tea, and feel the peacefulness of time. The boss was very hospitable. He not only helped plan the itinerary, but also shared many local specialties. Every moment in this homestay is extremely comfortable. It is highly recommended to friends who come to Yangliuqing Ancient Town. It will add a different kind of warmth and beauty to your journey.

GGuest UserThis Orange Crystal hotel opened last year. Huazhu Group's City Comfort Inn, Orange Crystal, and Manxin brands have been updating rapidly in recent years. For the same price point, the experience is definitely much better than Marriott, Hilton, or IHG's mid-to-high-end lines. They seem to understand domestic consumers better in terms of service and humanized touches. It's quite good! ^_^

This hotel is truly upscale and grand. The room was spacious and bright, offering a lovely city view. Not only were the facilities comprehensive, including a 'Xiao Du' smart assistant for automated functions and a multi-functional toilet, but they also provided amenities like Peh-Chao-Lin toiletries. The pillows and blankets were incredibly soft, light, and comfortable. What truly stood out was their attention to detail and user-friendliness. They provided disposable facial towels, pump-dispenser disinfectant, and a heated towel rail. There were button-operated lights above the bed, and a small nightlight by the bedside that illuminated automatically the moment you stepped out of bed. The mini-fridge was stocked with complimentary yogurt and Jianlibao drinks, and on the desk, there were green tea, black tea, coffee, and snacks. The bottled water was clearly marked with free refills available, which was a thoughtful touch. These small, everyday details really showcased the hotel's meticulous care for its guests, and I was genuinely touched.
The hotel's surroundings are elegant, with many historic buildings nearby. It's very close to the Italian Style Area, Haihe River, and Tianjin Station, making for a charming evening stroll and perfect for taking photos. There are also many local delicacies and snacks in the vicinity. Attractions like Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence are close by, and a short walk in the evening takes you to the Haihe River. The room comfort and the convenience of nearby dining and entertainment were excellent, but I was particularly impressed by the hotel's thoughtful and comprehensive service. Highly recommended!

AAnonymous UserOverall, the service was quite good, and they even provided complimentary breakfast for my older child. However, the experience at the pancake station during breakfast was not ideal. Firstly, there was no one manning the station to make pancakes, and it took a while after we asked for someone to finally show up. Then, the chef making the pancakes seemed to assume that each person couldn't have a whole pancake, but rather only a few cut pieces (a pancake is usually cut into 4-8 pieces). When I asked for a whole pancake, the chef asked how many people were eating and suggested taking less if there were fewer people, and to eat other things instead. This was quite strange; when you buy pancakes outside, isn't it usually one whole pancake per person? And whether I eat other things or how many pancakes I eat is my own business, especially since I wasn't taking extra, just waiting for the chef to finish one and then taking it. This was the only part that wasn't a good experience, and I hope it can be improved in the future.

GGuest UserIf you have an early flight this is a good hotel to stay at as it’s only 15 minutes from the airport. The room was clean and the staff very friendly.
My only problem was they had smoking rooms/floors and even though we had a non-smoking room there were some guests who still smoked in the stairwells. This is not the hotel’s fault but should be mentioned in case one cannot stand the smell of smoke.
There is not much for food around the area but for a 5-10 minute taxi ride you can get to an area with more options including some western options if you desire that type.

I was also very happy with the room type; the humidifier in the room was excellent, making sure I didn't feel dry even on a dry northern night. GGuest UserWe had the best experience staying at the Four Seasons in Tianjin. The staff went out of their way to take care of us. Melinde took time to greet guests and remember details about our stay, our check out date, even my love for Jian bing guo zi! She then worked with her team to ensure that those preferences and details were noted across all our interactions with the hotel staff. We appreciated the special care from 小齐, Leo, Elyn and our room attendant Qiu Hua (?). The warm and personable customer experience really sets the Four Seasons apart from the Ritz Carlton.
The decor was modern, tasteful, and the amenities were just right. The rooms were spacious and very clean. This was one of the few hotels we could find in Tianjin which offered a crib for our little one. The one mini gripe I had was that the light switches were a bit confusing but other than that we loved every bit of our stay.
We also enjoyed the breakfast options and especially loved the freshly made wontons and melon and date juice. Staying at the Four Seasons was one of the highlights of our stay in Tianjin and we look forward to being back!
