This distance was a lifesaver for me, traveling with a whole family, big luggage, and three kids. **Suburban Hub:** It's just over 20 minutes by train to Oxford, and very close to the stunning Cotswolds. This is the perfect alternative to save on expensive London accommodation. **Amenities Galore:** Within walking distance of the hotel, you'll find local historical sites, museums, and several large parks, which are super convenient for letting the kids burn off energy. **Dream Trip Enabler:** The overall convenience made our dream European trip incredibly smooth; we could head out whenever we wanted. ⚠️ **Heads Up! (2 Cons/Challenges)** **Stairs – The Ultimate Boss (Top Floor Attic):** We happened to stay in the small attic room on the very top floor. While the natural light and space were cozy, we had to haul our large luggage all the way up to the 3rd floor (which in the UK feels like the 4th floor)! The stairs are numerous and narrow. If your luggage is too heavy, you'll seriously question your life choices. I highly recommend packing light if you stay here! **No Indoor Slippers Provided:** This hotel doesn't provide slippers (a common eco-friendly practice in old European hotels and B&Bs). If you're used to wearing slippers, remember to bring your own from Taiwan."

"Spacious rooms with good amenities within historically beautiful buildings with sympathetic extensions. Massive car park and quite rooms. Very responsive and interactive staff ensuring a positive experience at anytime (we arrived at 10:30 pm). In house breakfast has superior taste and the Chef has excellent mastery of the Classic English Breakfast."

"I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Reading-South M4, Jct.11 for one night and had a very positive experience overall. The location is convenient, especially for those traveling via the M4, and the hotel facilities were modern, clean, and well-maintained. Everything from check-in to the room comfort met my expectations, making for a smooth and enjoyable stay. I’d rate my experience a 9/10 — the only thing that would have made it a perfect 10 would be the inclusion of free parking. Aside from that, I had a great stay and would happily consider returning in the future."

"The hotel is conveniently located, about a 4 to 5-minute walk from Reading train station. However, the hotel is generally quite old, and many facilities are in need of maintenance. The shower temperature was very difficult to control, and the fridge wasn't working properly. The room itself was spacious, and the price was more affordable compared to hotels in London. Breakfast was excellent value for money at just £13, with a wide variety of food options. The staff were friendly and very willing to help."

"Lovely comfortable hotel, only drawback for us was that although they accept dogs (for which they charge quite a lot) there's nowhere to eat apart from the lobby, which is rather big and exposed, if you have the dog with you. Part of the dog policy is that they shouldn't be left alone in the room (that I agree with) but it left us having to go out of the hotel to eat at a local pub which was more dog friendly. Otherwise it was great, comfortable beds, good bathroom and a pleasant ambience, nice receptionists."

"Wasn't impressed to receive text whilst abroad to say if we checked in late our room could be let. We were flying back and couldn't guarantee getting there at 3 pm. Had to get family member to call to explain. There are 2 Travelodges, one each side of the motorway. We booked the westbound one. Both have the same postcode. Our satnav only recognised Eastbound side. Result was they couldn't find our reservation. Apparently this happens a lot. Staff redirected us so only a few minutes and a few miles delay. Our arrival delayed by difficulty at Heathrow,ie Terminal change and over an hour and a half hours delay before passengers could access luggage reclaim. Staff shortages. Arrived at nearly midnight. Only Costa open at services. However, staff at hotel helpful. Situation good and quiet despite proximity to M4. We were very pleasantly surprised. Room clean and plenty of space, bed comfortable, coffee-making facility welcome. Bathroom fine and water hot. Slept really well and plenty of choice for breakfast with services placed only a few yards away but not causing any noise problem at the hotel. Enjoyable stay. Pity about postcode confusion Maybe explanation to take westbound services turnoff given on website when booking would avoid confusion and save people being taken to the eastbound site. We were worried when satnav told us to pass westbound services but assumed hotel was approached by another turnoff shortly after. It would have made our arrival far less fraught to have been aware of the fact there were Travelodges BOTH sides of motorway. The hotel itself was good and gave us a comfortable night."
