"The most stunning thing about this hotel is the incredible view of Mount Fuji right from your window. Pulling back the curtains for the first time was truly breathtaking! I highly recommend waking up early and also checking it out in the afternoon, as it's pitch black at night and you can't see the mountain at all. The service was excellent. The staff were proactive in helping us book restaurants, which was a huge convenience. The room size was quite spacious for a Japanese hotel, and the bedding and bathroom were spotlessly clean – very comfortable to stay in. The onsen (hot spring) was generally decent; both the water quality and environment were clean. The outdoor bath (rotenburo) can get a bit windy, making your head feel a little cold. The hotel has a buffet restaurant, but the food options seemed pretty basic, so we didn't try it this time. Overall, it offers good value for money, and the Mount Fuji view alone makes it well worth the stay."

"Fujisan Station Hotel was my accommodation choice during this Fuji trip. Located right next to Fujisan Station, it’s only a 2–3 minute walk away—extremely convenient, especially for travelers arriving via the Fujikyu Railway or the scenic limited express trains. Upon entering the room, my first impression was that the space is genuinely decent. Compared to many typical Japanese business hotels, it feels noticeably larger. I could fully open my suitcase and spread out my belongings without everything bumping into each other. After unpacking, I immediately felt more relaxed. This is especially great for self-driving travelers or those on multi-day itineraries with lots of gear. The hotel’s location is one of its biggest strengths. From the hotel entrance, it takes just 5–6 minutes on foot to reach the central area, where you’ll find convenience stores (not right next door, but very walkable) and a wide variety of izakayas and casual eateries. If you get hungry late at night, you can easily step out for food or drinks—there are plenty of options. For people who enjoy a late-night beer or casual supper, this is really convenient. The biggest pleasant surprise was my mountain-view room. The window offers a direct, unobstructed view of the complete silhouette of Mt. Fuji! On clear mornings or evenings, the mountain stands beautifully right in front of you—stunning and majestic. Lying in bed or sitting by the window to admire it felt like a real treat. While it’s not the lakeside reflection view you get at Kawaguchiko, this direct face-to-face perspective of Fuji is still incredibly satisfying. That said, I have to be honest: the overall facilities and room decor feel quite dated. Since opening around 2015, it seems there hasn’t been much renovation. The furniture, bathroom fixtures, air conditioning, lighting, and walls all carry a distinct Showa-to-early-Heisei vibe—almost zero modern design elements. Wi-Fi is stable, the bed is a Simmons (comfortable enough), but the whole place gives off a very “functional but not luxurious” feeling. One unusual point is that the hotel does not offer free breakfast (some reviews mention breakfast, but during my stay it was either vegetarian-only or charged separately). For some people this might be a downside, but personally I saw it as a plus—there are so many great local dining options nearby that I preferred going out to explore rather than being tied to a hotel buffet. Finally, the parking lot is huge and has plenty of spaces. For self-driving visitors heading to the Fuji Five Lakes area or Fuji-Q Highland, you’ll never have to worry about finding a spot. Easy in-and-out access is another practical advantage. In summary, Fujisan Station Hotel isn’t a luxurious or stylish property by any means. But if you value convenient transportation, spacious rooms, easy access to food and drinks at night, a direct view of Mt. Fuji, and ample parking, all at a reasonable price, this place is a very pragmatic and solid choice. It may feel old-fashioned, but it delivers on the essentials. Highly recommended for self-drivers or anyone who wants an uncomplicated, Fuji-facing stay with good value for money!"

"I booked this hotel because the promotion made it seem luxurious, but the surroundings feel odd, almost like all the trees have been removed by purpose, littered with dry leaves and fallen branches. It feels dirty and poorly cared for. I was expecting a neatly landscaped area with grass and trees, but instead, the outside feels like a barren, lifeless space. That said, the inside of the room looks very good. The accommodation consists of two separate large caravan‑style rooms. They are not very spacious, but they are sufficient for a family of four. One of the rooms has slightly less living space because it includes a larger bathroom, with a full‑size bathtub. This is something you rarely find in Tokyo, where most bathtubs are quite small, so this was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, we struggled with the bathtub controls as it was written in Japanese, we couldn't use it after all. Also, the heating system are all labeled in Japanese, and there were no clear instructions in English. As a result, we didn’t figure out how to use the heating until the second night. We stayed for two nights in total. There is an outdoor spa area, which is interesting and enjoyable. We used it and found it quite good, although it is small. It works best for two people, three is a tight squeeze, and four would be uncomfortable. The sauna is decent and operates daily. Breakfast is served at set times rather than as a buffet, likely because the hotel only has 14 rooms. Guests must choose a time slot, such as 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:30. We chose 8:30. Breakfast is a set menu rather than self‑service. Each morning includes a starter, a main dish, and some small item to finish, well enough for us. The first day was Japanese‑style, with a rice‑based dish. The second day was Western‑style, with a sandwich as the main course and fried eggs with pork belly. The food tasted good, but we would have appreciated more water. We did not ask for refills, as staff left the area after serving. Finding the hotel is a bit difficult. The entrance sign is blocked by a car park sign, making it very easy to miss. You need to drive very slowly, or you will pass it without realising it. We spent several minutes searching before realising this was the place. Be prepared to see a car park with two signs, where one directly blocks the hotel’s entrance sign."

"Everything was good about this hotel. They serve fresh homemade bread every day — and it's free! The amenities were great, including a stove so we could cook. The only thing I think could be improved is the host’s friendliness. I only got to speak with him during check-in. Every day when we bumped into him, he seemed to avoid speaking with me. It would have been a perfect score if the host had been more friendly and made us feel welcome at the guesthouse."

GGuest UserI’m glad I’m able to witness all the positive comments written by the previous reviewers. I must say thank you to Trip.com for recommending this hotel to me. I don’t think I need to repeat all the good things again, I just hope I can return to this fantastic hotel in the near future and to experience the peaceful sight of Tokyo. Imagine when you wake up, you could see Mt Fuji from your bed, and go up to the fourth floor rooftop to take amazing photos with Mt Fuji. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They even offered to drive me to Onsen since I couldn’t get a tax.Lastly, due to the change of the travel plan this hotel allows last minute cancellation up to 24 hours before arrival, thanks for the flexibility given.

SSkull88The hotel was a pleasant surprise with an unexpectedly rich array of activities. Hidden in the back garden was a large, beautifully manicured Japanese garden. Sipping Japanese matcha while gazing at the small bridges and flowing water was incredibly relaxing. The taiko drum performance was incredibly energetic! The young performers had amazing stamina, drumming, dancing, and chanting all at once. During the intermission, they even invited children to join in and drum to the rhythm. I later found out it was a performance put on by the hotel staff themselves, which showed so much love and dedication. There were also bingo games and piano performances, and even one-year-old kids got to wear cute little yukatas! 🫰 From the room, we had a view of Mount Fuji, which was still covered in snow in March. It was cold but stunningly beautiful. The only minor downsides were that the rooftop open-air onsen with Mount Fuji views was open to women only very early in the morning, and we didn't get a chance to enjoy it due to our schedule. Also, the food might not have been the freshest; after all, fresh seafood isn't exactly a mountain specialty. While we didn't experience vomiting or diarrhea after eating, we did feel a bit off for two days.

SShadoWofAlex357We stayed for a couple of nights. The hotel is very old and desperately needs a major renovation: the hallways are shabby and dirty, the carpet is stained all over, and the elevator is tiny—barely fitting two people. But the rooms themselves are perfectly fine: - Clean and tidy - Clean, white bedding - Sterilized mugs and toilet - Looks neat, even though the room itself is small. The outdoor hot springs are great, moderately hot, and convenient. There are only a few downsides: - No washing machines - A bit far from the train station (about a 15-minute walk) - The duvet didn't have a cover (it was tucked in with a sheet, which easily comes loose and generally isn't very hygienic) - The internet isn't the fastest or most stable - If you get noisy neighbors, it will be unpleasant, as the soundproofing is excellent. - They don't accept luggage if you send it via local transport companies. Overall, the hotel is good if you're staying for just a few days. If you plan to stay in the area for a week or more, I'd recommend looking for another place.

GGuest UserMany people criticize this B&B, so I'll say a few fair words. First of all, the landlord is an auntie who speaks a little English but not Chinese. She chatted with me in English when I checked in. Because it's a homestay, there are many rules, such as no smoking, throwing towels in a bamboo basket after taking a shower, trying to be quiet after 11pm, washing dishes after breakfast, etc. I live with my son, and these rules are not a big problem for us, so I feel good overall. And because I checked in before 8pm, the landlord sent breakfast, including bread, fried eggs, grilled sausage, and salad, which tasted really good.

GGuest UserI was pleasantly surprised to catch a partial glimpse of the top of Mount Fuji from my room, even though there were buildings obstructing part of the view. The room facilities were very new and well-equipped. I was particularly delighted that the room provided an electric grill, perfect for tabletop BBQ; we bought wagyu beef and fresh vegetables from the supermarket every night to grill. There was also a microwave, which was very convenient. The self-check-in process was smooth and easy. Shopping and dining options nearby were fantastic; there's a convenience store just a few minutes away, and across the street, there's a row of restaurants. Paid hot springs are also available in the vicinity.

GGuest UserHotel has a very good location, very close to Fuji-Q bus station. It rather easy to find it. An ability to rent a bicycle, gives you a chance to get around Fujiyoshida and Fugikawaguchiko easily. We stayed in acottage style annex with an open air bath (onsen style), so we found it great. GGuest UserA fun glamping experience. I really think the cabins could benefit from management staying in them overnight from time to time - things like no hooks to hang things, dark and smoky vestibules outside the cabins, pots that don't work on induction heat etc. could be resolved. But overall a well-managed place in a nice location.
