The guesthouse has a great location, just a minute or two's walk from Shirahama Beach, and there are two bus stops nearby, making it convenient to get around. The breakfast was also delicious and clearly prepared with care. The owner is Chinese, and very enthusiastic and helpful with any questions you might have, making it a truly warm and welcoming place. There are also a few hot spring spots not far away, making it an ideal base for exploring.

I rented this hot spring hotel in Baibin this time. I personally feel that it is very worthwhile. The room is clean, there is a separate bathroom and a private style. When I checked in, the staff proposed to drink at the lounge. The small gift and the toiletries were the same. We immediately sighed and sighed. Two cups of draft beer, this arrangement is very intimate. Dinner can be arranged at 6 or 7 o'clock. The ingredients are very rich. The abalone is delicious, and the Kumano and the cattle are delicious. Every time the staff at the meal has an explanation, although the communication is difficult, but the squatting is very dedicated to using Google translate translation than mine. The service is really unbearable.
I originally bought the plum wine and planned to drink in the room. I was worried about how to ask them to drink ice cubes. I knew that as soon as I entered the room, there was a large edible ice bucket to place the cabinet. I immediately felt that the hotel was really intimate!
The second morning breakfast can be picked at 9 o'clock, because we plan to get up and soak in the hot spring again, breakfast is also rich, eat to take a belly room.
Overall, this experience is good, it is worth recommending!

Guest UserThis was my first time visiting Shirahama Onsen, and I chose this guesthouse near Shirarahama Beach. Although it's a bit old, it's been well-maintained and managed after renovation. It even has separate natural hot springs for men and women, which was incredibly enjoyable. We stayed two nights in a sea-view room; the ocean view at night was stunning. From our window, we could see the bus stop for Shirahama Station and the distant Engetsu Island. The last photo shows the hotel as seen from the bus stop for Shirahama Station. The room was incredibly spacious and even had a kitchen. Some kitchen utensils could be borrowed from the communal kitchen. This was by far the most spacious and comfortable sea-view room we've ever stayed in Japan. Highly recommended!

Guest UserRoom was comfortable, had a sea view, there was another hotel in between us and the sea, but nevertheless it was beautiful to be beside the sea.
Breakfast was tardy, staff were friendly, Onsen was big split over two floors with the highlight for me being the outdoor pool on the first floor

GeraldLim1Beautiful Ryokan! The room I stayed in had tatami floors and western beds. The doors slide instead of open outwards like they usually do. Toilets are relatively small, but the shower had great water pressure and temperature! However we did not shower much because.. We showered at the Onsen instead since we were there to spend time! The Onsen is tattoo-friendly as confirmed by the check in staff, and the water really had skin smoothing effects. Yukatas are available at lobby area for all guests, and level two has a restaurant with microwave and ice machine outside for your konbini meals. No view from the room, but that's fine cos the Onsen itself was worth a visit. Steep short hill up to the lobby, but if you drive then that's fine. Free to use outdoor BBQ area, but didn't have the chance to. Rooms were comfy, sleep was good with minimal disturbance. Side note: my underwear got stolen at the onsen and I never managed to find it back again but that's fine cos it was worth the Onsen experience. Stayed two nights here, no regrets, would totally do it again! Oh and Onsen area has got numbered lockers to store your belongings but not your undies!

Naomi_ioiFor just over 1000 yen, getting a one-night stay with two meals for two people, plus a sea view, is incredible value! The dinner buffet, while not huge, had excellent quality ingredients. We feasted on delicious salmon and tuna. The room was spacious. Sure, there were a few minor imperfections in some corners, but for this price, I can't complain. The only real issue was that the hotel only offers free luggage storage until 3 PM. They didn't mention this when we dropped off our bags. Halfway through our Kumano Kodo hike, a friend behind me delivered the bad news. I ended up having to carry six people's luggage to our next accommodation all by myself. It was quite a heartbreaking experience.

You definitely need a car to stay at this hotel, and the check-in area is not in the same building; you have to go up a bit. However, the staff are all very helpful and nice. Another big issue is that there aren't many restaurants nearby. For dinner, there's only one restaurant, and you have to check if it's open, or you can cook yourself, but the supermarket isn't close. At night, there are very few streetlights, so it's quite dark.
The room needs the beds to be made.

SuimuzhongnanshanAs I write this review, my thoughts are overflowing. I recall all my experiences in Japan, the diverse people I met, and the fun I had with friends. I don't know what to write; perhaps it's just my personality—not good with words. But I enjoy quietly caring for others.
First, I want to thank Mr. Yamamoto for his warm hospitality. I greeted this gentleman in my limited Japanese, knowing only a few phrases. I wanted to say something, but my language skills are limited, which is a pity. Meeting is truly fate. I don't know if I'll meet my landlord again in Japan, but I think I will if I return to Shirahama. As the saying goes, ”Though the room is humble, its virtue is fragrant,” and it is this traditional tatami that carries on a long-standing culture. I don't know what kind of work I'll do in the future, or whether I'll be happy, but during my time in Shirahama, I experienced what true life is.
If you'd like to experience Japanese tatami, I think you should choose this guesthouse. There's also a hot spring, but unfortunately, my leg was injured, so I couldn't soak. That's a regret, but life is like that—there are gains and losses. That's all for now. Wishing you good health, all the best, and a harmonious family.

Oooedo Onsen Monogatari: Not a Resort, a Rebirth*
This isn't just a hot spring resort; it's a portal to another dimension. From the moment you swap your clothes for a yukata, the magic begins. You are no longer a tourist; you are a traveler in time.
The ryokan experience is pure bliss. Waking up on tatami mats, the world outside feels distant, irrelevant. And the onsens... from open-air baths under the stars to secluded rock pools. Each immersion strips away a layer of urban fatigue, leaving only tranquility.
But the true glory is the indulgence. Exquisite kaiseki dinners featuring the ocean's freshest treasures, paired with all-you-can-drink sake, beer, and whisky. It’s a feast for the soul where you never have to say ”no.”
You don't just leave this place relaxed. You leave reborn, carrying the taste of a life lived more fully, if only for a weekend. It’s an investment in your soul.

By making a reservation for check-in in advance, I was able to borrow the key smoothly. Although it is far from the information center, it is easy to find. Since I used it for motorcycle touring, there was a garage with an electric shutter on the first floor, which gave me a sense of security. There are restaurants far away, but they have tableware and cooking utensils, so I was able to shop at Toretore Market and a drugstore and have a drink at home, which was very satisfying.
