The onsen was a real highlight, beautifully maintained and deeply relaxing, and the view from my room was absolutely spectacular. Although it was whale season while I was there, I did not manage to see any whales this time, but that simply gives me another reason to come back. If there is one small area for improvement, it would be the dining experience. While the food was perfectly fine, it felt rather ordinary compared with the overall quality and standard of the hotel. A more varied and distinctive selection, particularly at the buffet, would better match the hotel’s otherwise excellent experience. Overall, a truly lovely stay, and one I would happily recommend.

I went to Yakushima Land in the pouring rain, so I wanted to take a bath early, so I went to a nearby day spa that opens at 3pm. It was before check-in time, but they let me put the sashimi and beer I bought for dinner in the pension's refrigerator in advance, which was very helpful.
