"This is our first visit to Ranau. Booked the room based on the high reviews and am really happy with the decision. The location was far end but the driving was nice because you could see a lot of greenery along the way. No nearby restaurants but the hotel does have a restaurant where you can dine in or have room service. Breakfast was included. Should not miss taking breakfast as you can really enjoy nature early in the morning. However, a ticket to the park was not included. You can purchase it at the gate at the entrance and it was easy. It is nice to have a little hike in the morning after breakfast. If you are lucky, you get to see the Raflesia flower. We are not lucky 😌 maybe next time. Overall the experience was fantastic. On top of it, the reception staff and all other staff were all friendly upon checking in, checking out, and throughout our stay. The room was spacious for our family of four. Cleanliness is remarkable. Highly recommended!"

"The location is excellent — conveniently located near the main road, making it easy to find and access. Each room comes with its own private balcony, perfect for relaxing and taking in the stunning mountain views of Kundasang. We especially enjoyed our time there as we brought along our own camping table and chairs, which made the balcony experience even more enjoyable.
Parking was a breeze — we could park our car right in front of our room, which made unloading luggage super convenient. The on-site café also offered a good variety of food and drinks, whether you’re after a light snack or a satisfying meal.
Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic getaway in Kundasang!"

"The front office staff friendly and helpful during our stay. We got the chalet 13 on our stay, feels like taking stairs to level 4/5 to get to the chalet. The view is more to forest and sky, not a mountain view. Lacking wifi on the chalet side and mobile phone reception coverage also not so good (we are using CelcomDigi blue and yellow edition). Overall, its a very relaxing experience."

"This is a fantastic place! Room 2 beds and couch, a little tired. But taking into account the location, everything is compensated. There is a plumbing parking for cars. You can walk around the tea plantation, next to a classy cafe with different dishes with tea addition. At night, hear gekons, birds, etc. to our child it was very not normal 😅"

"I liked the location as it’s not too crowded and has easy parking. There’s a nice chilling space where you can enjoy the cold breeze with a view of Mount Kinabalu. Overall, the hotel is very clean, and the room’s interior design gives off a nostalgic 90s vibe. I was lucky to get a room facing Mount Kinabalu, so it’s the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The only minor inconvenience was needing to iron clothes at the lobby, which, as a Muslim woman, felt slightly inconvenient. However, I was okay with it. The service was good 👍🏼 I would happily choose to stay here again"

"The hosts are wonderful, friendly people who made our stay comfortable. Our room was a small room with a bed, a table, air conditioning and a combined bathroom. The room is clean. You can order food delivery and it will be delivered fairly quickly, the food is delicious. You can buy coffee, tea, and drinks on site. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the entrance to Hot Poring Springs, but they can give you a ride for free. There is a transfer to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan. More expensive than Grab, but you can't call a Grab from there. Grab cost us 200 ringgit from Kota Kinabalu, the transfer back cost 300. Don't expect luxury from this place (or from others nearby). It's like visiting your grandmother in the village). Very soulful."

"We got a 2-bedroom family unit. The original booking was one with 2 bathrooms but we were not notified that the unit was unavailable due to repair/refurbishment work and only upon arrival we were informed that we are getting another unit with one bathroom. It was nice and clean enough. Then after one person showered in the evening, the hot water started running out. Third person showered with cold water. Fourth person, upon checking with reception was asked to wait for half hour before there's more hot water. We were not informed of this limitation in advance. For breakfast, we asked for 3 fried eggs and was surprised to find out this was an add on as usually eggs are included in the paid breakfast. Otherwise, place was strategically located near Kinabalu Park and Desa Dairy Farm."

Great
EEstee SYI would rate my two-night stay 4 out of 5 stars. The room was quite spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the overall environment was pleasant. The facilities were also satisfactory.
However, the soundproofing could be improved. I could hear a baby crying in the next room for about an hour in the middle of the night. The next morning, around 7am, I was woken up again by children upstairs crying and running around 😂.
Additionally, the water pressure in the shower was a bit low, so it took longer than usual to finish showering.
XXuan NiThe road to the place is a little shaky but all worth it for the excellent view. In the morning got to see the whole mount KK in front of us, really amazing view.
The people hosting were super nice and friendly, they have a restaurant and small mart at the reception area, even a water dispenser.
There were 2 rooms with big bed and another with bunk beds that can fit 4. You can also ask for Wifi router and Mahjong to rent. Overall good experience, would visit again!
VVivica28A charming place with cozy surroundings. You can walk around the area, and there are also benches and tables to spend time in nature.
Rooms can be chilly after sunset, but there is a warm blanket on the bed.
Very nice staff, they helped me buy a bus ticket and helped to find a taxi driver
AAtulsaurusWorth to stay here as we can see Mount Kinabalu from the resort, however the road were a bit scary. Would suggest to request upper room as I stayed in lower room, i can hear the person above me walking and running 🥲
QQaaa AmrrThe journey to the hotel took a very long time because it's quite far. The road leading to the hotel wasn't great, but once we arrived, the view was absolutely stunning. Mount Kinabalu was clearly visible; we could see it distinctly in both the afternoon and morning. The bed was a bit noisy, it creaked a little when moved, and there were other faint noises, but we just ignored them. Breakfast was decent. Their fried banana fritters were delicious and crispy – perfect for an early morning breakfast.
I chose this hotel specifically for the view, and it certainly didn't disappoint.
JJagtish RajendranThe resort offers a quiet, peaceful atmosphere thanks to its scenic location among misty hills and well-maintained gardens. The accommodation provided a clean, functional space with reliable hot water, embodying a simple, rustic mountain aesthetic. While the units are not luxurious, they fully meet the requirements for a comfortable and practical stay. Staff interactions during check-in and check-out were courteous and efficient.
In summary, Fairy Garden Resort serves as an entirely adequate and quiet base for travelers in Kundasang who prioritize essential comfort and a nature-centric setting over extensive modern amenities.
Aairule143⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I would like to start my review by complimenting all the staff ,from the receptionist, kitchen staff, to the housekeeping team. All of them truly deserve a 5-star award for their excellent service.
The receptionist, Ms. Liza (if I’m not mistaken), was very kind and welcoming. I arrived at the resort around 2:00 PM without making any prior reservation, yet she patiently showed me every type of room the resort offers. After viewing all the room options, I made my decision, and the check-in process was smooth and easy with clear explanations given.
The room was quite spacious, and an additional bed could be added with a small extra charge. Whenever I needed anything, I just had to make a call, and the staff responded quickly and efficiently.
My stay included breakfast, and the food provided was good. For dinner, the restaurant also offers a variety of dishes, which is very convenient as guests don’t need to drive out to look for food.
That said, I do have a few suggestions for improvement to make the stay even better. The beds could be upgraded, as they felt a bit old and not very comfortable. The Wi-Fi coverage also needs improvement, especially since the CelcomDigi network coverage in the area is quite weak. In addition, the television system could be upgraded. While the resort offers beautiful scenery to enjoy, sometimes the weather doesn’t allow guests to go outside, so having better in-room entertainment would be appreciated.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay and truly appreciate the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality , I hope to visit again in the future.
NNanaSyakinahWe just wanted to try doing it in a capsule.. but this is the first time we've done it in a capsule.. the place is a bit scary.. but we'll try doing it in a tent later.. everything else is ok..
NNick小叶Mount Kinabalu at 6am will really surprise you😲
We live on the highest floor,
When you open the door and look to the left👀, you can see the whole Mount Kinabalu, and there are no wires or anything else blocking your view of taking photos😍😍😍
When you open the door and look to the right👀, you can see a sea of clouds, and the wind is really comfortable and cool🥶
But there are a lot of small insects in the room, and the bed sheets are not very clean, so they itch..😂
NNorbert JohnThe view is magnificent. You can see the mountain very clear at early morning. The road condition to this place is quite challenging for 2wd vehicle. Extra cafeful during drive is a must cause some of the road is steep and visibility during night is limited especially when its raining. Overall im satisfied with my stay.
