"Location 10/10. We checked in late at night and were quite disappointed with the room we had paid for. In the morning, we paid a symbolic extra fee at the front desk and moved to a garden villa! The only downside was the mosquitoes.
The breakfasts were tasty, and while the selection wasn't huge, you definitely wouldn't leave hungry. We asked for more cut fruit a few times and they brought it to us.
You can borrow masks, fins, and life vests for free if you want to swim at the reef. Alternatively, you can take a 15-minute ride on a glass-bottom boat.
Sardines and turtles are within walking distance. You pay 100 pesos, and if you want photos, you can hire a guide with a camera, and you'll have wonderful shots."

"We had a pleasant stay at D Gecko Hotel overall. The hotel is located a bit farther in along an unpaved road, which made the access slightly inconvenient.
We booked a family room, and it was very spacious, perfect for our group. It came with two single beds and one double bed, which made it comfortable for everyone. We also appreciated the small details like having a kettle in the room and a free water dispenser available for refills, which was a big plus.
The only downside for us was the pillows, which were not very comfortable for sleeping. Aside from that, it was a nice stay and good value for families."

"I highly recommend this hotel; every aspect shows great care. The room was spotlessly clean, and the facilities were well-maintained with no signs of damage or wear. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were just the right height, ensuring a high-quality sleep. The bathroom was clean and odor-free, with a full set of toiletries provided. The front desk service was professional, efficient, and their attitude was gentle and patient, making you feel very welcome. The hotel's public areas were tidy and bright, and the environment was quiet and not noisy. The location is excellent, convenient for both taxis and the subway. "The room was very spacious and clean. AC was well functioning, the restroom is also a reasonable size, there are racks and a space where u can also hang/dry wet clothes, the bed was huge and the room is really nice overall. The pool is also clean and there is a big area where u can sit and settle your stuff while you're using the pool. Staff was also very accommodating. The place was also really calm and quiet."

"Great option for a couple of nights, close to both Sardine Beach and Kawasan Falls. The staff were friendly, though they did forget to return our deposit. There's a decent restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch, or dinner, which was convenient for us. Most of the rooms face the road, and the window AC unit is incredibly noisy, plus it's poorly installed with finger-sized gaps, making it feel like you're sleeping on a highway. Otherwise, everything is as described. It's very convenient to have water coolers on each floor and a swimming pool on the ground floor. White Beach is also nearby, which is excellent."

"Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. It's a bit far from Pangasama and White Beach, but that's actually the charm of it. There's a fantastic reef right by the hotel, where you can spot turtles and interesting fish.
Getting to the beach and shops by tuk-tuk was convenient.
The food is local Filipino cuisine, which might not be for everyone 🤪"

"The location is fantastic, a 3-minute walk to the beach, with plenty of dive centers nearby that can organize snorkeling and diving trips. The beach is also close to a sardine storm and turtles. The room is basic, but I didn't like the fact that when I turned on the hot shower, the water pressure was very weak. The colder the water, the stronger the pressure. Regarding the room cleaning, they were perfunctory: they took out the trash, changed the towels, made the bed, and that was it. That's why I'm downgrading my rating a bit. I asked for a plate and knife for fruit, and they brought it right away. There's no breakfast, but there's a cafe on site. The food is delicious, but the wait is long, and not everything on the breakfast menu was available. For example, I couldn't order the Filipino breakfast because there was no rice!"

"We stayed in March 2026. Everything was lovely. The hotel grounds are full of flowers, all well-maintained and neatly trimmed. There's a large gazebo, and even taps where you can rinse off your shoes and swimsuits. There's also a cooking area, which we used. The room has everything you need: a kettle, mugs, glasses, a fridge, and even a small multicooker. The location is excellent, with everything nearby! As you exit the gate, the road to the beach is on the right, and the road to the food court, stalls, and various cafes is on the left. It's a quiet and peaceful place. I highly recommend it to everyone!"

"Great place to be.
Amazing beach that’s called the Mushroom rocks. You can observe it during the stay.
Amazing view from the beach or from the rooftop bar where you can see the other island, sea in all of its beauty. Aaaand don’t miss a chance to observe the stars out of terrace. It’s amaaaaaazing.
Restaurant’s right on reception. The food is tasty, especially we liked spring rolls and Wild Orchid omelet. You can chose any table you like (right in front of the beach, on a cafe territory, the rooftop bar or the number balcony.
Pool on common territory is wonderful. Clean, different depth, instagramly. But the best thing, there are no people or maybe few.
Nice staff on reception and kitchen.
Clear, comfortable room. Nice place to come back!"

Guest UserExcellent hotel! The rooms are cozy, and the staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are fresh and clean, and the grounds are well-maintained too. The location isn't the most convenient if you're on foot, but the hotel itself is in a beautiful spot. They also offer scooters at a very good price – cheaper than renting them 'on the street'. When we arrived, all the scooters were taken, but the girls at the reception suggested a company they work with, and everything was delivered right to the hotel for us. When a hotel scooter became available, we took that. They also helped us with tours. We initially booked the hotel for 2 nights, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay for another 3. By the way, the transfer from the hotel is also more cost-effective than arranging it yourself.
The hotel owners, Nick and Raquel, are very kind and open-hearted; it was a real pleasure and very interesting to chat with them. Abigail and the other girls are also positive and always ready to help. At this hotel, you feel like you're visiting close relatives. Thank you! We would be very happy to stay with you again!)

TLDR: an amazing stay in general. Perfect for people seeking a getaway
The hotel is located a bit south to the moalboal town center (approx. 10min by tutuk or motorbike) and away from the main road. You’ll need to cross a bridge made of bamboo sticks first to find your entrance. It’s a quiet place where you can only hear the nature and your own thoughts.
I’d highly recommend the restaurant because they offer great food at a reasonable price, although takes some time to serve so order in advance. Kudos to the owners who are almost always present and will come to the table to introduce themselves and make recommendations if needed. Staff are well-trained and very helpful.
You’ll also get the chance to observe some of the wildlife species like birds and lizards while staying there, which is a plus for me.
A 10/10 experience. Don’t miss it if you enjoy some peace and quiet in the nature.

The hotel is conveniently located near restaurants, sea shore and many dive and activity places yet away from the main crowded areas.
We stayed in a twin room and a family room. The twin room's facilities were good with convenient storage space with in the room and the bathroom. The bathroom was super clean and spacious. The room was very clean and comfortable with good air conditioning, the fan was very noisy though.
The family room was had a little bit more ”worn out” feel with less storage space for the clothes and none in the (small) bathroom. Fortunately we were only two persons staying in that room, it would have been more difficult to comfortably accommodate 4 persons in this room. The room and bathroom were clean, the AC efficient (noisy fan here as well).
The breakfast options were simple but ok, convenient for a quick breakfast before you go to activities. There are plenty of other options available around though. We did not try the restaurant for lunch or diner.

The hotel is in more private location compared to most resorts in Moalboal. This is a quiet area, with private access to the sea, which is very shallow and easily accessible, particularly during low tide. Resorts itself is nice, the pool was OK, diving also enjoyable, although cylinders were a bit on the empty side. Staff was always very nice. Unfortunately, food was not so good and overpriced, we had much better things to eat in other resorts or in town, which is 10-20 minutes away by tuk tuk.

K.G.M.We loved staying in this location. Our room was right on the water, giving some breathtaking views morning and night. Lots of storage space and big bathroom. The hotel has a great diving center that also rents all kinds of snorkeling equipment too until later hours. Pool was clean and there was even a tipsy bar within it.
Our only issue was very low water pressure in the shower which made washing long hair ia bit challenging.
While you are away from the “mail” street in town, walk us about 8 min and there are few other hotels/ restaurants and activity companies located right next to hotel entrance

If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, with a refreshing atmosphere in a remote location and especially if you’re into advanced diving this is an excellent place to stay. We stayed for just 1 night, as we wanted to explore other activities and we’re not advanced divers, so we decided to change our plans.
A quick tip: prepare cash in advance. The nearest ATM is quite far from the resort, so you’ll need to take a tricycle or rent a motorbike. The resort only accepts cash.
The highlight for us was the stunning sea view and breathtaking sunset. The property isn’t very large, but with plenty of trees it feels secluded and peaceful. The food was also delicious.

Guest UserLoved the property and the beach. Best snorkeling we did in Moalboal was direct from the resort and we saw turtles and lots of starfish and marine life. The lifeguard Frankie went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing snorkeling experience. Also enjoyed the pool and the location worked perfectly for us as it was away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to hit the town for dinner each night. Plus, White Beach is a 5 minute paddle away on the kayak. Would definitely come back again

The good is that it was very clean and more accessible by car than many of the hotels in town. The bad is that there was no hot water because the outlet for the water heater shower was broken. They also had a menu of things you could buy but then they were out of most things. I spoke to another guest and they had the same complaints. We are also used to blankets with the bed, but only a sheet was provided.

The hotel's air conditioning is a proper AC unit, not just a cooler! It was so much quieter! Other places had noisy coolers that kept me from sleeping. The hotel front desk can also book tours with pick-up and drop-off, which is incredibly convenient... I wish I had known about this hotel sooner! Highly recommend!

Has a lot of potential. Location is good and staff were helpful in ordering Tuk tuks to the town and organising day trips.
Unfortunately our shower kept going cold but they did do their best to sort it.
