A Nightmare Stay: Cockroaches, Lies, and a 3 AM Battle for My Money
I booked this hotel for six nights, thinking it looked decent in the pictures. Big mistake. After checking in and heading out for dinner with my wife, we returned to discover the room wasn’t just ours, it was home to a full-blown cockroach infestation. Disgusted, I contacted Trip.com, expecting some level of support. Their brilliant advice? “Tell the hotel.”
So, I did. The hotel flat-out refused to refund me. I pushed harder, but they held their ground. At this point, I turned back to Trip.com, thinking surely they’d step in. Instead, I spent hours until 3 AM
fighting with them, only to be stonewalled at every turn. With no choice, I had to book another night just to have a place to sleep.
It took six days of relentless back-and-forth to finally claw back my refund, and even then, they tried to shortchange me at every opportunity. The hotel was a disaster, Trip.com was useless, and the entire experience was an absolute nightmare. Stay far, far away from both.
