Some rooms have no windows, and the stairwells are very low (the places where you would hit your head are covered with plastic). The hygiene was very poor: not only were there flying mosquitoes in the room, but there was also a half-dead cockroach on the floor (see photo). I am a female solo traveller. I stayed here for 3 nights.
I booked it at the last minute, but it was a very spacious room with a city view. The receptionist and cleaners were all women, so I felt safe. I didn't ask for any cleaning, but on the other hand, if I had hung a sign, they would never have come in, so I think their ethics are quite good.
The location is excellent, as the beach, restaurants, massages, etc. are all within 10 minutes (if you can cross the road).
It seems that there is an additional charge (60 baht?) for using hangers, etc. Shampoo and body soap are also quite scarce, so it might be a good idea to get them there as there is a Big C about a 3-minute walk away. I was a bit worried about the smell of the sewage coming up. The air conditioner is extremely cold. Water drips depending on the wind direction. lol
