My room was very cozy (backyard view), and the whole hotel is absolutely charming, conveniently placed in the main street.
Probably because of the Golden Week holidays, there was loud music on the streets - and also noisy children in the hotel at quite late hours, I regret that the staff did not ask the parents to silence them as much as possible :) Breakfast is Chinese classic but good.
(About the city)
However, if you expect a real "Ancient City", this city is not the right one, all buildings (nice ones by the way) are all recent buildings, in a "Ancient" style. So, comparing to the actual real cities of the island (quite ugly), it's cute, but it's all fake. The main street is full of tourist's expensive restaurants with waiters waiting for you outside and calling you. You might prefer to walk by the side streets, which are quite nice and quiet (lovely lighting at night).
Don't bother going to the nearest beach, it's a dump.
But if you are looking for a lovely place to rest and chill, the stay at the hotel was great !
