Family of 4, children age 16 & 14. We all had an AMAZING 2 weeks here! The hotel is a perfect size so not too busy. 2 main pools and 2 bar areas. Plenty of sunbeds and seating areas on both sides. We spent our daytimes around the pool by the animation bar, run by the wonderful Alexandra! We were introduced by friends we met to iced coffee with cream liqueur - absolutely beautiful! Ask Alexandra for a “Dirty Milkshake” as I named it . It’s also beautiful with iced chocolate too. She also serves a lovely G&T, which was our daily drink. Entertainment at the Animation bar is fun with something on a Friday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. There is a Greek night once a week at the other bar with great music and Greek dancing - so much fun! This was our first time doing All Inclusive and we were very impressed. The food is lovely and varied, but to be honest there isn’t much for really fussy eaters. Chips most days….. fish fingers occasionally….. pizza occasionally. All is cooked perfectly and stocked up as soon as becomes low. I thoroughly enjoyed the beef stifado, anything pork and the chicken was delicious. The turkey wasn’t my thing. The oven potatoes were gorgeous. Breakfast was great also with a good selection of Greek bacon, mini sausages, baked beans, scrambled eggs, fried eggs etc. plenty of salad at all times, plus fresh melon/watermelon/apple etc. Desserts at lunch and dinner were amazingly good. Snacks are served mid-PM and afternoon tea 5-6. Everywhere was kept clean at all times. All the staff work so hard! We would 100% return.

We visited for a week at the end of May during half term week. The hotel staff are so lovely and welcoming. We booked a 2 bed family apartment which was spotlessly clean. Housekeeping came everyday to clean round, make/change beds and change towels. Pool area and sunbathing beds were cleaned every morning. Food was buffet style all inclusive and had plenty of choice of hot and cold. Good selection of food for my daughter who is a vegetarian. Drinks were local spirits and draught beer. We never tried the wine. All were ok and again, plenty of choice. The hotel is set on the outskirts of Tsilivi with stunning views across the countryside. The walk into the resort centre is a pleasant 15 minutes, however there is a free mini bus running from the hotel at set times. The rooms do have air con but we never used it. There is a sign in reception indicating times it’s in use etc. There is the main hotel area and then an annexe block, both with pools and bar. The annexe also has a garden area. Always plenty of beds and chairs during half term week. We alternated between both areas. We took a trip to Zante town in a taxi - 15 euros one way. Worth a visit. As is one of the coach/boat trips. We did the turtle trip and Keri caves. The hotel doesn’t claim to be 5* so please don’t come expecting that - however, the hotel is very clean, with super friendly staff , good food and drinks in a beautiful location. It well deserves its 3*plus status and we had a fabulous week. I probably would stay again. Attached are photos of our views and bedroom area. We also had a very small lounge with mini fridge and kettle. Only downside was the very firm mattresses but you soon get used to them.

Just wanted to thank all the staff at the Filoxenia Hotel. Reception staff could not do enough for you, bar staff were great fun especially during the day and in the evening. The restaurant staff were polite and always greeting you with a smile. The guys who drove the shuttle bus were full of information if you ever needed help. The village was beautiful and all the locals in the bars and restaurants very polite! GREAT beach which allows you to walk for miles and sea is very safe as you can walk out for some way. Water sports team on beach very helpful also. Just got back from our holiday and missing everyone at Filoxenia! Thank you to everyone at Filoxenia for your company and great holiday! If we had to stay in Greece again I would definitely come back to this hotel.

What else can I say other than wow! The Filoxenia was absolutely fabulous from the very beginning! We were moved to the hotel from our original booking at another hotel due to the end of season change. We had 2 six year olds and 2 seven year olds to entertain and the Filoxenia was the perfect place! Much better than the original hotel! There is a large family friendly pool next to the animation bar, a medium sized pool at the main pool bar and then a baby pool next to it. There's a brilliant snooker/pool table, table football and ping pong available for people to play. The pool table takes €2 coins only. Our accommodation was stunning. The room was massive with 2 double beds and a single bed. Cleaners are in daily with towels changed every 2 days and linen changed every 3 days. The food was perfect, with a fabulous variety of Greek dishes, English dishes and tonnes of fruit and salad. Soft drinks, hot drinks and alcohol were self serve in the restaurants and readily available in all of the bars along with tasty unlimited icecream throughout the day. We played 3 rounds of Bingo on Tuesday with the lovely Keith after my husband failed miserably at the previous nights quiz! Everyone from the wonderful receptionist Vicky who showed us to our rooms to the brilliant gang of cleaners who looked after us and made the kids feel so welcome on their first holiday were absolutely perfect! I wrote a little thank you note in Greek (thank goodness for Google translate!) Then both myself and my sisterinlaw left our remaining euros as tips to say thank you! We can't wait to come back again! The Tacey Family and The Ekins/Jones Family Room 212 and 213

My Fiancé and I booked this hotel earlier this year, based on, to a large extent, the Tripadvisor reviews. So I was quite surprised and a little concerned to read quite a few poor reviews just before we came. (& indeed, since we’ve been here) We are here now and I can honestly say that our concerns were unfounded. We have found all staff to be very friendly and helpful, the rooms are fairly basic, but we have everything we need, including a fridge, kettle and the surprising addition of a Nespresso coffee machine. The shower is lovely and hot and powerful. The beds are, as I’ve seen on some reviews, quite firm but we’ve found them to be comfortable and have both slept really well. As for the food - all inclusive hotels are notoriously repetitive and often serve cool food but we’ve been pleasantly surprised. It’s replenished regularly so is usually hot, and if not, just wait a little while! There is a 2 week turnaround (so we’ve been told by staff) so there’s been something different every night. If you want a cocktail you have to pay extra but it’s 8€, so similar if not cheaper than in Tsilivi. We have stayed in numerous all inclusive hotels over the years, in various countries and can honestly say that, in our opinion , this one doesn’t deserve its recent poor reviews. Had we not seen them before our visit, we wouldn’t have been disappointed, the hotel is exactly what we expected from those earlier, excellent reviews. We rarely return to a hotel but, should we return to Zakynthos, would have no hesitation in returning here. We still have a few days left of our holiday but would like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful Filoxenia team for making our stay here memorable (for good reasons)

No way is this a 4 star hotel. At best a 3 star! We have been to many Greek Islands over the years, favouring the food, friendly locals and weather. But this is the first time we were disappointed and certainly won’t be returning again. Rooms are clean, but strangely set up. Fridge and kettle are provided but fridge leaks water and isn’t really fit for purpose. We asked to be moved from the first room we were given 316 as it was directly next to the surprisingly busy road and is extremely noisy day and night. We were then moved to 330 which was set back from the road but much quieter. The all inclusive was terrible. Food selection was beyond boring, only 8 hot plate choices, lucky if there were even 2 meat or fish options at each meal. Mostly stuffed veg, rice, pasta, and plenty of salad. If you’re not quick you are left with nothing but salad as choice. Drink choices were poor. Snacks are only available at the main hotel..so if you upgraded to the superior rooms, expect to walk across the street if you want a light snack while sunbathing! There was no atmosphere around the complex..staff were ok, nothing outstanding. Lifts were dodgy so we took the stairs which is not great for anyone with mobility issues. Public toilets were awful, wet floors , smelly drains (also very strong in the rooms) The hotel itself is a 10 minute walk from any shops. The beach was our saving grace..great atmosphere! Reasonable beds €15 for two for a whole day. Water sports available to those who want. Definitely won’t be recommending this hotel to anyone if you’re looking for a special getaway experience..not enough going on for us. Not the usual friendly Greek experience we’re used to! Thoroughly disappointed.

This hotel is extremely tired and in need of renovation. Everything is old and tatty. The staff are excellent especially the restaurant staff. The food is fresh and plentiful just a real shame about the flies, so many of them. Overall we made the best of our week, the sun was shining but I would say this is not a 4* hotel. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the town of Tsilivi, however the beach is not worth a visit, again very tatty and un-inviting. Staff great, just a shame about the overall hotel experience.
