Spring Hotel Vulcano

Lovely hotel at a very good location. Modern, nicely decorated for Christmas. Polite staff, good choice for breakfast and dinner. Christmas dinner was something out of this world( been to many hotels, but Xmas dinner now will be hard to match). Not sure if it is always like this but we were the youngest in the hotel(43&47)during the first part of holidays and only later some other younger people joined us. The average age was 60's 😁 This hotel is not orientated to children but for us it was perfect- no screaming and shouting and our girl had fun in the pool by Herself and her cousin🤣 I wanted to book Spring Hotel Bitacora at first but now I am thinking that I made an excellent choice . That said, I might try it out next time just because of the All nclusive service Bitacora provides. It was a nice quiet stay so if you expect something like Turkey, eith music around the pool, kids disco and shows, this hotel is not for you. We were half board and 4 days we ate at the pool bar and were never disappointed. Good food and reasonable prices. We didn't book UP option because we were with the kids( it's for 18+)but if I ever come without them- I will try it out! Pros: Very good location Modern hotel Heated pools( wheelchair friendly) Good food and service Cons: No shampoo in a room! It's a first for me 🙈 The tiles in the pool (mosaic) need replacement. My daughter filled probably half of the carrier bag from the bottom saw of the pool🤣 All in all- perfect stay and believe me, I am picky. It is one of the hotels I would recommend to my friends and family

Visited for the first time at the start of January as a change from our usual location further along the resort at the Iberostar Bougainville and Las Dalias. We were on the fifth floor in a pool view room. Rooms getting tired, we asked to be moved from the first room we went to after the first night as the floors were awful, screwed down old flooring, and generally the room felt grubby. Our second room had better flooring and was an improvement. Our balcony was not really useable however as we had a nesting pigeon and some pigeon mess around which was never really dealt with although the pigeon was finally removed a couple of days before we left. Sleep quality fabulous, bed comfy and hotel quiet at night. Breakfast was great and although we were half board we didn’t try the evening meal as we prefer to eat out. Pool area great and balance terrace nice. Pool bar good and food lovely. Overall a decent hotel but rooms could do with updating now. Would choose a different hotel next time only due to the room quality but overall it was an enjoyable stay.

The first time I’ve felt I’d been mislead by TUI (which I’ve complained to) I spent around £4,500 for 11 nights half board with this hotel being advertised as a 4**** plus hotel, which it’s far from! I’ve stayed at some fabulous hotels and ate amazing foods but this was around a 3 star. The breakfast was ok but the evening meals and buffet was the worst I’ve ever had. I ate there 6 out of 11 nights, I never had one hot meal, I gave up in the end and ate at other restaurants by the fountains. There should be chicken fillets on every evening, seen it once an it was cold! The fish was good there ! The rice was cooked like bullets, pizzas looked freezing like they’d been there for days. The room was hanging, the floor was wrecked, screws hanging out the floors, and I had to report cockroaches on 3 occasions, I can’t believe I even stayed there after seeing them but I’d paid all that money. They didn’t offer me any compensation, not even a free drink ! On a positive note, the staff where lovely, the pool was great, an 2 out of 3 where really warm. Fresh towels every day. The entertainment was just ok but if you like your sleep early, around 11pm I was on the 3rd floor an it felt like my bed was in the disco! There was an UP at this hotel which you can sunbathe on the roof top with an infinity pool, I didn’t know about this and obviously couldn’t go up, the hotel didn’t even offer me an hour up there plus it’s a joke what they charge for the day considering you’ve spent thousands for this outcome. I was guttered I won’t stay there again but I still made the most of it, even after seeing Ronnie the roach an his tribe

We've stayed at The Hotel Vulcano before and we’re looking forward to spending Christmas here. However, we have left feeling disappointed as standards have dropped since last year. Firstly, the hotel has changed its evening buffet so there is far less to choice and you now have the option of 5 (waiter served) main courses; all are simple freshly cooked grilled dishes. We booked the holiday over a year ago and were notified of the change by Jet2 and we're hoping this would be an improvement. We tried several and all were bland, and unseasoned. The food wasn’t good and we ended up eating out most nights. However, the breakfasts are very good indeed and had we had the option, we would have gone b&b. We chose to upgrade to the Balance terrace option, where there is a separate sunbathing area, you can help yourself to free beer and soft drinks from pumps that are located in a sunny spot of the terrace. 3 of us contracted food poisoning on Christmas Eve Eve; we had spent the day on the Terrace and drank the lemon beer from the pump. The other member of our party didn’t drink it and was unaffected. We did advise the hotel but received no response from the management. We found the room cleaning to be poor and we had to complain about this, other reviews mention this also. However, the Christmas Gala evening was lovely, the buffet was spectacular and there were free cava and cocktails. The staff worked so hard to make this a memorable event. We don’t complain unless it’s justified and we did encounter other issues during our stay and found some of the staff to be unhelpful, even surly which was disappointing. We don't usually go away for Christmas, this was an expensive holiday and we have been left feeling underwhelmed by The Spring Hotel Vulcano.

Stayed in this hotel for 9 nights, b&b as been to las americas before so knew area and it's a great location. Had no issues at all with hotel. Room was quite spacious, stayed in 371, not the greatest view but wasn't fussed. Near a lift and stairs. AC was good enough for the temperature in December (we like it quite cold) Liked the fact the towels were big enough to wrap all the way round yourself! I do feel like the room could have been a little cleaner, especially the bathroom. Breakfast - was great, always had lots of stuff out and actually hot too! Sausages, has browns, variety of eggs, bacon, beans, cereals, variety of yoghurts, fruit and lots of pastries. Juice and tea / coffee stations. Had lunch at hotel next to pool area a few times. Thought reasonably priced for being in hotel and was good too! Pool -  think was heated to start with, after a few days of cloudy and rainy weather, when able to go to pool again, it wasn't heated.. however this was our last day so not sure what happened. Some sunbeds could do with being replaced. Good pool towels! Toilets always clean enough too. Gym - this was the main reason for picking this hotel. There was a lack of AC in it, however we got by without it. Not sure if in hotter weather if they put on the AC? Free weights only went to 10kg, and machines could do with oiling but all in all, great for a hotel gym! Cockroachs - seen a lot of people on here and FB moaning about them. We only had 1 in room, for our full stay and it was the only night we brought back some pizza after a good few drinks!! Did see some outside but that's outside so can't help that!! All in all, would recommend and would go back! I would give 4.5 starts but was either 4 or 5 so went with 5!
