Thank you Lawrence and Susan for providing such lovely accommodation with so many thoughtful touches. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and inviting, with such a comfortable bed and pillows! Our concerns about noise during the night from the pub opposite and being so close to the road, were dispelled on the first of our 2 nights staying in cottage 1. We slept so well, waking gently in the morning to the birdsong in the gardens. The welcome hamper was delightful, with so many treats, especially the fudge which is to die for. Great bathroom (although navigating the steep staircase in the middle of the night was a concern for us, being that we're elderly) with such nice toiletries and lovely hot water for showering. Thank you for helping me sort out the wifi connection, since we don't have a smart phone with QR code scanner and a chance to meet and pat your gorgeous wee dogs. The location in such a historical area is wonderful and very convenient for exploring around the district, with it also being an easy drive into Hobart. We did walk up to the nearby park to check out more about Mr Lythgo and his importance in the area. We'll certainly be recommending your cottages to anyone we meet who may be thinking of holidaying in Tasmania.

We loved this dog friendly cottage. All reviews were positive and we can see why. Susan and Lawrence are great hosts - friendly and helpful without being overpowering and encourage a play date with their dogs. The bed was to die for and many extras were supplied. Road noise is not an issue due to thick walls. It is often difficult to eat out with a dog but we found the Chinese in Brighton excellent for takeaway.

This is a beautiful period property, full of character, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The welcome basket with cheese, biscuits, wine and treats was delicious. It really feels like a home from home. I chose to stay in this area because of its proximity to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, ideal for going on their night tour. I will certainly be staying there next time I visit Tasmania. It’s a really special place.

Second visit and we weren’t wrong to return this gem like accommodation in a row of colonial cottages in the historic settlement of Pontville. Extremely comfortable, peaceful and homely it means you can take the car and tour the island or just hang around and go for walks. Lawrence and Susan exceptional hosts ( huge welcome basket full of tons of goodies) Love this place.

My wife and I have just returned from 32 days of traveling around the world and I finally have time to express my gratitude to Lawrence and Susan ( and their furry assistants!) , the owners of Lythgo’s Row in Pontville, for a perfect stay in August. Lythgo’s Row was a base for us to explore Tasmania for a future transfer to live in 2023 and after some hectic travel in today’s challenging times through London, Singapore,Sydney and Melbourne it was an island of calm to spend time at their colonial cottages. It started with the welcome basket, a mix of the practical and the delicious! I understand that each cottage is a little different and ours was so lovely, with a mix of traditional architectural details on two floors such as rugged exposed brickwork, flag stone kitchen floors and period light switches but also the modern conveniences of practical heating/ air-conditioning, plush but comfortable king size bed, solid wifi to plan those day trips and a modern, beautiful bathroom filled with light from the garden, fragrant Orana products and fluffy robes! Not only was the accommodation and attention to detail a relaxing change of pace for us, it was also the perfect location to explore the rest of the island, or sometimes just chill while reading a book or sharing a glass of wine. We became very comfortable in such a welcoming environment and it was a sad day when we had to pack our luggage to leave Tasmania, and Lythgo’s Row behind us…. highly, highly recommended.

Home away from home. Everything was absolutely brilliant and super clean - from the luxury comfy king size bed, normal shower (for those of us wanting to keep our hair dry) or the rainfall shower and loved the heated towel rail! An array of wine glasses (red, white, sparkling, aperitif), and a great supply of kitchen plates, utensils and a microwave! All the extra little thoughtful touches - having the heating on for a rainy day arrival, gourmet Tassie hamper packed full of tasty goodies, port and fudge to enjoy after dinner, fluffy dressing gowns and slippers, not to mention the beautiful designer toiletries. Our pups also enjoyed their first holiday and had a lovely time staying with us at Lythgo’s. Thank you Lawrence and Susan, we loved our stay and will definitely return!

My daughter and I stayed for almost a week recently and I could not have been more impressed. The renovations were recent and tasteful, both cottages immaculate and very well equipped. The owners provided a terrific hamper to cater for our breakfast, bottle of wine, cheese and crackers, fresh bread and spreads and much more. The location is great - opposite a funny old pub that serves remarkably good meals in its restaurant. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here - I’ll be back
