Oporto Street Fonte Taurina - Riverfront Suites

The location was great, within a short walk to the river, city center, and restaurants. Room is a little snug, but we only used it to rest at night, since so much to do outside. Breno greeted us right away. We enjoyed talking to him about activities in our hometown. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was superb.

The area was great handy to mist things down near the river. The staff were lovely. There it ends. Tiny rooms with absolutely no sound proofing we were on the 2nd floor and all we heard day and night was thunp thump thump above and beside us . We complained but nothing was done . They leave ear plugs beside your bed which don't help . Also there is a sign in your room that says take shoes of when walking in room . That says it all . We hardly got any sleep the 2 nights we were there and I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone .

So, I am not one for negative reviews but this place needs a major warning. We had booked for three nights and were put in room 1. This room directly faced the street and you were visible at eye level with tourists as they walked past. The room is small with enough space for the bed only. We checked in and offloaded our stuff and on our return we felt very uncomfortable. During the evening we had people knock on the window and at one point a couple actually took a photo of us sitting on the bed. It felt very unsafe and whilst the remainder of the hotel might be excellent, Room 1 should not be sold unless major changes are made. We contacted the hotel who were not able to move us so we left that evening and checked into another hotel which felt much safer. Sadly the hotel management refuse to accept that the room is not fit for purpose and claim that area is safe. I would argue that this is not until case and their suggestion of closing & locking outside shutters to prevent people from looking in was both ridiculous and turned the room into a cell.
