Qingdao Shibei District Hotels

The staff were good, and the rooms and bathroom were clean. Thankfully the staff sent me instructions as to how to find the place the day before check in. However, the bed I was assigned was broken and I found out by trying to climb into it and then it slipped and grazed my shin. Thankfully I had first aid in my bag. The staff then gave me a nicer room as compensation, which I'm grateful for. But then when it came time to checkout (early in the morning), the elevator wasn't working and for at least 20 minutes I was trying to get out of the building. Luckily, a staff member appeared and guided me towards another elevator. I was almost late for my train to Beijing. Overall, the staff, bathrooms, rooms, price and location are good, but the rooms conditions need inspection so nobody else gets an injury when trying to sleep and the condition of the elevators because it was a hassle to try to leave the building.

The room was fantastic! Everything provided was disposable and very clean and hygienic. They even had disposable toiletries specifically for babies, which was a thoughtful touch! The hotel environment is also excellent, very close to the Beer Museum, and a bit further walk takes you to Taidong Pedestrian Street, making it super convenient for getting around. Right across the street there's a restaurant that's very affordable. Plus, it included a complimentary breakfast for two, which was incredible value!

## Location: The location is incredibly convenient: just across the traffic light from the Zhongshan Road subway station exit, right on the main street. Taxis are also easy to hail. With public transport (bus and subway) right at the doorstep, getting anywhere is effortless. Zhanqiao Pier is also within walking distance, and the stroll there is quite pleasant, allowing you to admire the architecture and browse the small shops along the way. Just a heads-up, during hot weather, it's wise to stay cool. ## Environment: The courtyard itself is very quiet. Surrounding it are many small shops, accessible through a back gate from the courtyard – just knock and you can step right in to explore them, which was a fantastic feature. We'd read reviews suggesting ground-floor rooms are more convenient, so we booked one. However, the garden-style courtyard made it a bit challenging to wheel our luggage. But the front desk staff (the young gentlemen, in particular) were incredibly helpful, always carrying our bags in and out. Our suitcases were quite heavy, so we were truly grateful for their assistance! ## Stay Experience: The bedding was quite comfortable, although the pillows were a bit too soft. It would be ideal to have both a soft and a slightly firmer pillow option to cater to different preferences. The air conditioning kept the room refreshingly cool, but it seemed to lack a dehumidifier function (or we couldn't find it), making the room feel a bit too damp. Clothes hung out in the courtyard took a while to dry, but having a washing machine to pre-spin them helped a bit. Each room has its own private courtyard perfect for tea and conversation; on hot days, we simply moved our tea setup just outside our door, which was equally pleasant. We did notice a slight odor in the bathroom, but after mentioning it to the front desk, they promptly cleaned it again for us. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable, and we would definitely choose this place again on our next visit to Qingdao. The people of Shandong are genuinely warm, friendly, and talkative – they never showed any signs of annoyance, which we truly appreciated!

Very quiet, large space, large bed, one bed can sleep two people, the bathroom space is even larger, a bit wasteful, no bathroom heater, the only drawback. Who knows, family members! The hotel I stayed in this time was really amazing! As soon as I entered the room, the clean and warm atmosphere was immediately full, the bedding was soft, and I had a good night's sleep. The service is even better. The front desk lady was warm and considerate, and she also helped recommend great food around. The location is also superb, and travel is super convenient. I will come again next time!

A big thank you to the front desk staff for kindly upgrading us to a family room. The soundproofing was excellent, making it a truly family-friendly hotel. They even provided toothbrushes, toothpaste, and a step stool for the kids. Our child was absolutely thrilled with their own little bed. For breakfast on the first floor, they also provided dedicated tableware for babies. The location is fantastic, very close to Underwater World, Hisense Discovery Center, and Taidong Pedestrian Street.

The room decor was incredibly cozy, and the environment was beautiful. The location was excellent, very close to the beach. What I want to praise the most is the cleanliness; the sheets and duvet covers felt freshly changed, smelling like they'd been sun-dried, and the bathroom was spotless. Eating a special breakfast with local tea in the morning felt as comfortable as being a guest at a friend's house. I've already added this place to my favorites and will definitely choose it again next time I visit. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip here!

This stamp-collecting spot is truly amazing! My child absolutely adored it. As soon as we arrived, they eagerly dove into collecting all sorts of stamps. The collection was incredibly comprehensive, featuring so many attractions, and it really helped make up for not being able to visit them all in person. What's more, the wonderful lady at the front desk even taught us how to do the colored stamps, which looked absolutely beautiful! From the moment we arrived, the service was simply exceptional. I wholeheartedly recommend this place! The staff's attitude was absolutely top-notch – so warm, hospitable, and proactive in offering recommendations and information. We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be back!

The hotel's location is in Qingdao's most bustling area. It's about a 30-minute drive to Golden Sand Beach and 20 minutes to Shilaoren Beach. The hotel service was very good, and the breakfast was delicious. Overall, it's not bad. The cleanliness could be improved; even when we visited during an off-peak time with minimal crowds, it wasn't particularly spotless. If you're not too picky, it's acceptable. The decor is quite nice, and the furniture is good quality, but since it's been open for many years, some wear and tear in the corners is expected. I'd suggest adding a small mirror near the sink; it's not very convenient for people with severe myopia. The overall service was great, and Double-Double (presumably a staff member) provided excellent service, a big thumbs up!

We were upgraded to the family room which was very spacious and we appreciated it. The hotel is located right next to the subway exit and is near attractions like the cathedral and also the pier. However, cleanliness and housekeeping were a bit of a problem. When we first checked-in, we found stains on the blanket cover. We informed the hotel staff and it was replaced immediately. We stayed a total of 3 nights and realised no cleaning was done on the second day. The housekeeper just placed new towels and tea bags in our room but did not clean anything. When we first checked-in, the shampoo, conditioner and body shampoo which were all in big containers were close to finishing. We did not inform the staff as we thought they would replace it on the second day. However, they were not topped up or replaced even until the day we checked out, so we had to use our own supplies on the last day. On day 3, we indicated that we wanted house-keeping, so our room was finally cleaned. We dropped something and was looking for it, thus saw that the bottom of the beds were dirty and dusty. It's just that this is a 'luxury boutique hotel' according to the description so we were expecting a higher standard of cleanliness and service.
