Turismo Rurale Cozzo di Papaleo

Tenuta Cozzo di Papaleo was the stage for a special event for us. The location immersed in a well-kept and colorful greenery, the dry stone walls embroider it like pearls between the ancient paving stones, the terraces overlooking the sea, rows of carob trees, olive trees and vegetable gardens frame it and every corner steals a photo. We celebrated my fiancée's forty and they reserved the panoramic room with the fireplace just for us, exclusivity makes everything special and intimate. The care in the service of the staff, the attention to detail in the previous days, attentive to the professionalism of Laura and Sonia, an authentic plus. The kitchen surprised us once more, in its proposal made of territory and quality, combined with Giorgio's passion for each of his dishes, each of his proposals. The first courses, an excellent calamarata with porcini and tumazzo and homemade trofie with zucchini and speck. The second courses with low temperature cooking gave us meat dishes that literally melted in the mouth, all accompanied by a superior caponata. A special thanks to all the staff of Papaleo and to his orchestra master, the owner Giorgo Iurato, to his family who wear this place with passion, making it as special as it was for us, which will remain sewn to heart and head. Beautiful structure and beautiful context, but the quality / quantity / price ratio is absolutely questionable, regarding the catering service. 40€ per person for a mediocre level dinner with tasteless vegetables and a taste of disappointing pasta and meat. Unprofessional the fact of having announced dishes that never arrived and having independently decided the courses rather than receiving the guests' orders, as promised at the beginning of the evening. I recommend agreeing on the menu and price in advance.

We stayed at this property for 7 nights and we wanted to thank all the staff who allowed us to spend these days in a fabulous way! Let's start by thanking Giorgio, owner of the structure, as well as a passionate cook and a sociable and always present man! We then move on to the reception girls, always attentive and helpful! And last but not least, to all the kitchen staff, cook and waiters, all ready to make us spend evenings full of joy and serenity, offering us typical traditional dishes and with 0 km products. This agriturismo represents Sicily 100%, clean room equipped with all comforts, swimming pool overlooking the sea and surrounded by carob and olive trees! Heartfelt thanks again to everyone!
