Villa Boscarino

Villa Boscarino

📍 Via L. A. Muratori, 63, Ragusa
★★★★ 9.0 (56 reviews)

"The hotel is exquisite. The villa renovation was done with an eye to preserving the character of the Villa, while at the same time allowing for modern conveniences. Each space in the hotel felt comfortable and inviting. We had the Jr. Suite and it was quiet, and full of light during the day , with a beautiful view of the horizon. The Villa Boscarino, sitting on a hill in a residential neighbourhood, is a short drive from the heart of Ragusa superiore. One would ideally arrive via car. Parking is uncomplicated. The hotel staff were wonderful and organised dinner for us on short notice for two evenings. Breakfast lovely - fresh fruit and pastries, really special. We would definitely stay here again."

"The property is located right in the historic center. It's not accessible by car, but a 10-minute walk. The Duomo is a 5-minute walk from the property. The property is clean. There are breakfast bars nearby."

"Fascinating property with great views and a really interesting history. Rooms are nicely appointed although not as luxurious as other hotels we stayed at. Really cool outdoor spaces, including the pool area."

Palazzo Antoci

"Thank you Rafaela and Giovanni for having received us as beloved guests in your spirited family palazzo. We loved everything, from the elegant room to the delicious breakfast, and appreciated your recommendations in terms of visits in the beautiful Ragusa and further."

Mediterraneo Palace Hotel

Mediterraneo Palace Hotel

📍 Via Roma, 189, Ragusa
★★★★ 8.3 (71 reviews)

"Close to city centre, parking is included for €10 per day, but we were asked to leave our keys with the staff when using their garage. We weren't informed of this before checking in, when we had already seen someone in the garage (I assume the owner) moving cars of guests around. It made me uncomfortable but since I didn't have other options I had to agree. Rooms are spacious, but bland and empty-feeling, and has few amenities (no coffee making and the TV is very small for some reason) Check out is at 10am, which is very early"

Poggio Del Sole Hotel

Poggio Del Sole Hotel

📍 SP25, Km 5, 7, Ragusa
★★★★ 8.2 (55 reviews)

" Poggio del Sole Hotel Is a hotel of contradiction with impressive and grossly unimpressive features. The hotel is very large considering its remote, rural location. The foyer area is enormous with a large comfortable lounge area. There are numerous large dining areas and you can also eat by the side of the large pool. The pool also has a bar so you can order drinks and snacks. The decor is tasteful with wooden reproductions of a variety of cactus plants including the prickly pear, a noxious **** in Australia but its fruit is used to flavour spirits in Sicily. All sounds very impressive and favourable so far. So how do most people spend most of their time besides sleeping? Browsing the Internet on their phones and iPads. Whilst “free WiFi” signs are common in hotels, cafes etc., it is now a universal expectation. With this in mind, efficient internet connectivity is both mandatory and essential. During our two day stay, WiFi was generally unavailable. To make matters worse, the restaurant menu was only available electronically and there were no paper back up menus. Selecting a food choice from an invisible menu is a challenge. Understandably the restaurant staff seemed to be in a permanent state of stress. The food was very good but a prayer may be needed to get what you ordered. Oh! yes. The rooms are large and have all the expected facilities except for drink making items. Large bed but with 3-stars for comfort. Large bathroom, hot water but wafer thin towels. So lots of pluses, a few minor negatives and the WiFi issue may not be a regular problem (suspect it is), restaurants have atmosphere and reasonable food so just remember to bring a book to read for when your mobile device is inoperative."

Relais Chiaramonte

Relais Chiaramonte

📍 Contrada Gisolfo, SP81, Km 7, Ragusa
★★★ 9.0 (55 reviews)

"The hotel is situated above an olive farm with stunning views. I think they do a lot of weddings at the weekends, and it's the ideal setting. We only stayed one night, in a suite with views of the countryside and the sea. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Our suite was spacious, with a separate living area, including kitchen and sofa, as well as a large balcony. It was spotlessly clean, and the bed was comfortable. We did have an issue with the balcony door which the staff had to resolve. Also, I don't think the air con was working correctly. However, as it was October, this wasn't a major issue for us. We ate at the restaurant as it was more convenient than driving into Ragusa or Scicli. However, both are fairly close, only about 15 minutes drive. The restaurant was very good, serving high quality cuisine. Breakfast was served in a separate building next to the pool, with views of the countryside, and was also excellent. After checking-out, we were able to go for a walk through the olive orchards before leaving. There are beaches about 15 minutes away, for those staying longer than we did. The hotel was very good value for money and would make a good base for anyone wanting to explore the surrounding area by car. "

Villa Boscarino ★★★★
"Villa Bascarino is a charming place to stay in Ragusa. It’s an old private residence that has been beautifully converted to comfortable accommodation with a tranquil garden and pool area where we were able to have lunch after our arrival. Our room was spacious with a terrace, the breakfast offered a wide choice and the staff were very friendly, helpful and kind. Parking is freely available in front of the Villa or free nearby in the street. We left something valuable behind but a staff member (Aldo) arranged for it to be couriered to our next accommodation which was so very kind of him. I would highly recommend staying at Villa Boscarino"

Eremo Della Giubiliana ★★★★★
"A fascinating and highly authentic historical property with a unique atmosphere. The restoration has been done exceptionally well, preserving the character and history of the place. Ideal for guests interested in heritage, tranquility and a more secluded experience, with relatively few visitors. A few points could be mentioned: the pool is not heated, and the noticeable smell of cleaning agents in some areas slightly disturbed the otherwise special ambience. Overall, however, a memorable and very distinctive place to stay."

San Giorgio Palace Hotel Ragusa Ibla ★★★★
"The hotel has an elevator that goes directly to town. A short walk up the steps and around the corner leads to the St. George's Basilica in Ragusa Ibra. For €5, you can take a mini-train to tour the town's other churches. The hotel itself isn't large; carrying large suitcases can be tiring, as you have to climb a 20-meter ramp and walk along a long corridor. The facilities are basic. If you're only staying one night, you can't expect too much. The hotel terrace offers a view of a corner of the town."

"We had a magical experience with the most gracious hosts ever!! We enjoyed every minute with Raffaella and Giovanni! They are truly special people with the most generous hearts of gold! The room we stayed was spectacular and the bed was so comfortable that I didn’t want to get up in the morning! The breakfast was over the top delicious! They go above and beyond to please their guests. We are so impressed with them and we’ll keep in touch. They open their home and hearts to their guests so that you leave their palazzo with lifelong memories of a magical time spent in lovely Ragusa! Thank you for being so special! We highly recommend this lovely Palazzo degli Antoci."

Mediterraneo Palace Hotel ★★★★
"Lovely rooms very large and well appointed However....just one lift which is very slow and has to serve the 90+rooms over 5 floors, and the 2 basement floors. Service at breakfast is non existent. Ask for help and the staff are almost rude in their response. Just 2 coffee machines , both very temperamental and prone to breaking down. So 120/150 plus guests trying to get coffee before their trips depart is a recipe for chaos. It is faster to go to the downstairs coffee shop and bring back a takeaway. Staff do not clear the tables quickly enough, nor does the buffet get replenished very quickly."

"We had this as one of our stops for 2 nights. Lovely hotel. Very clean and quiet. No traffic sounds and very peaceful. Good breakfast and nice staff. Room was well organized and clean nice decor. Would recommend it to anybody who wants time away from hurly burly. We didn't have time to experience the pool or spa unfortunately. "
