When we arrived we were informed that the lift was out of order. The desk clerk offered no help in taking our baggage up 2 flights of stairs. One of the young women staff member did help us after she saw us struggling with our bags. As we liked Rennes we thought we should stay another night and asked the male desk clerk, yes another one if this was possible. Yes he said and promptly booked us in. An hour later I received a text message to say he had made a mistake but he could book us into another hotel. Silly me, I assumed he meant any hotel. He of course meant another Accor hotel. The Accor hotel was 40 km away from the centre of Rennes. I told him to cancel it and I would make my own arrangements. On leaving the hotel the next morning no assistance was given by the male desk clerk to help with our bags. Yes the lift was still out of order after three days!! Another young woman, the cleaner by the way did assist us as she saw us struggle with our bags. A hotel with a couple of lazy and incompetent male desk clerks made this visit less than pleasurable. We will not be back

The hotel is small, but conveniently located. The breakfast (included) is so-so. But, the room was clean and comfortable for the few days we were there. But the real deal for me is how they helped me after we left. Despite all the traveling we do and how careful I am, I left our passports and about $800 in US currency in the safe. I didn't realize what I had done until we were hours away. I immediately called the hotel and the woman at the front desk went upstairs to the room I had occupied and rescued the items. She arranged to courier the items to me. Then the courier claimed there was no one available to accept delivery and returned them to the hotel. By this time we are even further on our trip and she resent them with a different courier and they were safely delivered to us. What a relief!!! Everything was intact and our trip continued smoothly. Here is a tip someone shared with me after words. The night before you leave, put on shoe you plan to wear the next day in, or on top of, the safe. I will do that on all future trips. Thank you Mercure.

Friendly staff and location is very good. The hotel lacks a restaurant and bar and in the tiny room, no desk to work from. This may be ideal for the tourist but if you are here for business and would like to get some work done, I suggest you go somewhere else.

Just had one night here - we cycled from St Malo. The hotel is bigger than it looks, entrance is on a side street but our room overlooked the main boulevard. Room was great, breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of bicycle storage. Reception were really helpful with restaurant recommendations...would happily stay here again.

Having read a few bad reviews about this hotel on our journey to the place, I was quite amazed on our arrival. It looks like it has been completely renovated and updated. Greeted warmly by the reception and booked in quickly. The room was clean, modern and very nice. In a previous post, said the bedsheets were threadbare, not the case. The hotel, parking is underneath the hotel, tight to get in, but OK with a medium size car. The hotel is situated near everything that a tourist requires. And even a SuperU Express 5 mins walk away. Overall a very pleasant 2 nights stay.

Le plus: très bien situé pour visiter Rennes, chambre bien équipée avec bouilloire, machine Nespresso et mini-frigo (silencieux qui plus est). Les moins: - il m'est arrivé deux fois dans ma vie d'avoir une chambre aussi petite. Une fois, il y avait “capsule” dans le nom de l'hotel donc on n'était pas surpris. L'autre était à Tokyo (là aussi pas de surprise). Je n'aurais jamais pensé qu'un hotel Mercure dans une ville de province pas particulièrement touchée par la flambée de l'immobilier (?) rentrerait dans le tiercé gagnant. Contrairement aux deux autres expériences, la chambre dans laquelle j'étais était supposément une chambre double, cet hotel arrive premier dans la catégorie de la chambre double la plus petite (je souhaite un bon séjour aux couples qui visiteront la même chambre). - pas vraiment non plus d'équipements communs tels que salle de sport ou spa. C'est encore optionnel bien sûr dans cette catégorie mais cela fera un endroit pour ne pas être assis sur le lit avec le mur à 30cm devant soi. - le personnel est de bonne volonté mais pas très organisé, le vendredi je demande si je pourrai bénéficier d'un départ tardif le dimanche et cela prend 10 minutes pour avoir une réponse positive, et le dimanche on m'appelle dans ma chambre en début d'après-midi pour me demander pourquoi je suis encore là. Je suis sûr qu'il existe des hotels bien pour visiter Rennes mais celui-ci ne l'est pas. Où alors s'il n'en existe pas il faut vraiment envisager d'aller ailleurs, pour le même confort vous pourriez être à Tokyo où vous aurez plus à faire que dans le centre de Rennes.

Emplacement très bien (transports, restaurants, centre ville). Chambre assez spacieuse, literie confortable. Petit déjeuner assez varié avec produits frais. Pas de chauffage dans la salle de bain (au mois de décembre). Radiateur de SDB en panne pendant le séjour de 3 nuits malgré demande de réparation. A priori problème déjà signalé par le client précédent selon le personnel. Geste commercial sur la facture mais décevant quant à la qualité du séjour.

Ne venez surtout pas dans cet hôtel du jeudi soir au dimanche . Il y un bar juste en dessous avec la musique à fond et plein de monde dans la rue Impossible de dormir avant la fermeture à 1h ! La réception me dit juste que j’aurai du demander une chambre côté cour … Le problème c’est qu’ils ne vous en parleront surtout pas à la réservation Si vous voulez dormir fuyez cet hôtel!
