Guests appreciate the wide breakfast buffet and ocean views at the pool. The location near the beach and amenities is convenient. Exceptional cleanliness, spacious rooms, and friendly staff are also highlighted.

Very relaxing message. Almost fell asleep before the end! The girls were very nice and friendly. Very warm in Greece but the air conditioning kept me cool. Would recommend to anyone looking to relax by the sea. My partner really enjoyed it also.

Not a bad hotel but very far from the standing and service level of a real 5 stars. Don’t be trapped. No charm except the pool that is quiet but closes early at 7pm so you can’t use it after your day outside. Rooms are fine but ageing, like the toilet flush which did not work properly or the shower flowing in the bathroom and unsettled (hot / cold water). Breakfast is not tasty and dinner is self service, don’t eat here. Hotel full of german tour operators. Poor service level : No laundry service contrary to what was indicated on Booking. No cleaning made during our last day. They knocked on our door the morning of our departure 1h before the due hour whereas weekend were still sleeping. No bottle of water in the room but they still charged us the water from the minibar. No sense of customer relationship, we got a remark that we came too late at the breakfast. Finally location is bad : red flag 2 over 3 days on the beach and anyway the sea is tough so impossible to come with children. Beach is also always windy. And you need to take the car to go to rethymnon Where it is difficult to park.

We chose this hotel as our honeymoon destination and I regret it. + Extremely comfortable beds, very clean + they changed our bed linen and towels every day + a beautiful beach near the hotel - the hotel is located in a village 10 kilometers from Rethymno - The ventilation in the room smelled of mold, the air conditioner needs to be cleaned because - Low-quality meat for breakfast, probably from Lidl - it seems to me that breakfast pastries were not homemade but defrosted and baked - Drinks with dinner were charged €4 for one liter of mineral water, one glass of white wine costs €6 - The staff at the reception had a forced smile - The waiters were friendly and nice, but very slow, except when their boss appeared - at the "gala" dinner, the waiter dropped leftover food on my lap (fish skin), he didn't even apologize, he just left - our room was often noisy, as if the walls were shaking from the ventilation - The biscuits for breakfast were old and falling apart, the muffins were too dry. - a welcome drink with a welcome letter addressed to me and my husband we didn't get until the third day. There was cretan raki on the table and only ONE small brandy glass. There were TWO of us. - there was often no water in the cistern. It's not really a 5* experience when you can't flush the toilet. In conclusion, not a 5* experience, bad honeymoon...

The hotel deserves 4 stars, but not 5. All the staff and employees were always very friendly. However, the service was not always good, cutlery fell almost every evening. In the evening I saw from the balcony how the fallen cutlery was simply placed on the table while setting up. In the morning an employee with long hair came out of the kitchen and finished preparing the buffet. Hair must be tied together!! In a 5 star hotel I expect more wellness than just 2 massage rooms by the sea, only with curtains, pedicures are not offered. Unfortunately the beach is very rocky. Pool very clean and nice. The room was clean. Buffet and choice of 3 menus always good and very nicely presented.

We had a pool view room. The room was in a quiet location and the view was great. The rooms have a lot of comfort, storage space and everything else you could wish for. The bathroom has a shower tub and an additional shower. The pool is gorgeous and huge at the same time. Even in the high season there is enough space and the loungers with comfortable cushions and umbrellas are available in sufficient numbers. The entire facility is sparkling clean. Staff friendly and helpful. The hotel's own loungers with umbrellas are set up free of charge on the beach. The beach is about 1 minute walk from the pool. The food is delicious. There are high-quality dishes in the morning and in the evening. My personal highlight was the freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast. The weekly gala dinner is nice, but once per stay would have been enough for us. During our two weeks we were allowed/had to participate twice. At the gala dinner, only one of the four courses can be selected. The rest of the gears are predetermined.

Hotel Minos Mare Royal offers a peaceful and relaxing stay. It has to be said that we were there out of season. The hotel is close to the beach. Less than 3 minutes on foot. You walk through the hotel complex of the Minos Mare Beach, which shares the area with the Minos Mare Royal. A little info about the loungers on the beach. The cost for a pair of loungers a day was 6 euros for us. Good to know: As a Minos Mare Royal guest, you can use the pool at Minos Mare Beach, the other way around is not possible. There is also a souvenir shop/kiosk on site. Where you can buy bus tickets or exchange pool/beach towels, among other things. At the large pool there is of course also a pool bar. The rooms were very spacious for 2 people. We had a room with a balcony facing the pool. The service throughout the hotel is beyond question. All employees do a good job there. The first thing we received at the reception was a refreshing towel. We also got coffee/water and pastries. There was also a bottle of sparkling wine cold for us in the room. (All free of charge) The room was made every day. Towels were changed every second day without being asked. In the evening even the bedspread was taken off the bed and a little something to snack on was placed on the bed. Also in between, as a small gift from room service, pastries and liquor were placed in our room. A minibar was of course also available. The hotel also offers a variety of wellness options such as B. massages. A gym is also available. However, we didn't use the wellness offers or the fitness room. So I can't give any precise information on this. The restaurant offers both outdoor and indoor seating. You could choose your main course in addition to the really extensive buffet. There is a choice of 2 meat dishes, 1 fish dish and 1 vegetarian dish. Except for one day, I had chosen the vegetarian dishes and was not disappointed. Both the breakfast buffet and the evening buffet were very extensive and every day there was something new to try. For breakfast, in addition to the buffet, you could order boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, omelettes, eggs Benedict, waffles with or without ice cream or pancakes. For those who only speak broken English: A few employees in the hotel can speak German quite well. In general, the innkeepers in the surrounding taverns spoke a little German.

The Hotel Minos mare royal advertises with 5 stars, luxury and an oasis of calm! I didn't notice any of this. 3 well-intentioned stars, 0 luxury and very noisy. Doors slammed at night and drunken guests argued loudly in the hotel corridor. But the crowning glory was the brown water that came out of the tap. Likewise the unclean towel warmer. After taking a shower, the bathroom was always flooded. Complaint didn't help. Got the impression the staff was overwhelmed.

Clean hotel and nice room. The shower in the bathroom was unfortunately a bit leaky. The front desk staff was very friendly, one could speak German and organized a trip for us. Breakfast buffet and dinner a la carte + buffet were delicious. The selection was good. The pool was clean and quiet. Loungers available at the beach and pool. However, we liked other beaches on the island better.
